2nd Birthday Brunch

My love for all things brunch knows no bounds. If it were up to me, I’d indulge in it daily. But since that isn’t exactly in the cards (both for my waistline and my wallets sake), I’m just going to go big every once in a while. And what better reason to do so than on your birthday! With stuffed french toast, balloon place settings and individual parfaits! I have to say, sweet little Noelle is one very lucky lady. With photos from Soo Kim, there’s more right here.

From Soo Kim Photography… Our daughter just turned two and we decided to celebrate her special day at home instead of throwing a party. It all started with thinking about some of her favorite foods- yogurt, strawberries, hardboiled eggs, milk- and I realized that they are all very much breakfast foods. Throw in some stuffed French toast for the grown-ups and we had the perfect brunch menu!

I didn’t want to spend too much money or time on DIY’ing the decorations, but also didn’t want to skimp on them either. I decided to do just a few DIY touches myself and find a really great backdrop to set the stage. I wanted it to be casual and as the “hostess”, wanted to enjoy the brunch, too, which was something that I did not get to experience in past parties thrown for my kids, as I was such a crazy DIY’er over prepping, knee-deep in crafts, and setting up on the day-of (lol).

It’s always important for me to include party details handcrafted by me. Even though my kids are too young to appreciate all the planning and care that goes into the parties I throw for them, I do it more for myself. Knowing that I did what I could to make the day a little more special for them totally makes it worthwhile. For this particular day, I made her birthday cake, gold-dipped the yogurt and milk jars, and made mini-balloon place holders.

Noelle and her big brother, Jaden, enjoyed the party so much that they asked for another birthday party the day after the party… and the day after… and the day after that as well!

Romantic Garden Wedding by the Sea

With a garden romance vibe and a view of the ocean, this backyard Florida affair is just what we’d imagine a beautiful seaside wedding to be and it gets bonus points for the amazing vendors that made this day go. From Ozzy Garcia’s gorgeous imagery to pastel blooms a plenty by Divine Design Flowers and design and planning by Beauty In The Making, there’s a ton to pore through in the gallery and in the film by Cool Coconut Studios below.

From The Bride…Anthony and I met through a mutual friend, when we had all signed up for a kickball league in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. At first, I didn’t think he was interested and I was happily single! However , as time went by, we became close friends. That phase didn’t last long… as I got to know him better I could not deny that he was unlike any other man I had ever met. He had so much love to give. He is incredibly genuine and his selflessness struck me to the core. He drowned my greatest fears and took me into his arms higher than anywhere I’ve been before. Never to look back.

From the moment Anthony popped the question, we knew we wanted an intimate, elegant backyard wedding. Inviting our guests to our home felt to be a personal and genuine way to share this significant moment in our lives with the people we love the most.

We turned to a true star, Eileen Morales from Beauty In The Making to design and plan our wedding. Anthony and I knew from the moment we shook hands how lucky we were to have Eileen on our team. Her genuine character, eye for detail, raw talent, and love for LOVE transcended our dream wedding into the ultimate reality. We were fortunate to have the talented film photographer, Ozzy Garcia to capture our most precious moments. Film photography is a dying art that Anthony and I knew would capture our day in an beautiful way. Dmitry of Cool Coconut Studios swept us off our feet with such an awesome wedding film.

My favorite moment of the day was calm before the storm at our First Look on Palm Beach Island. It was a few moments of Anthony and I sharing our vows with each other privately (plus Ozzy and Dmitry in the background shooting away) before we headed down to the Ceremony where celebrated the rest of the evening with our guests.

In the end, there isn’t a single thing I would change about our day, or about the people who truly made our day.

Romantic Winter Park Wedding at Casa Feliz

Let me just start by saying, this gorgeous Bride would fit in the SMP offices so well. I mean, her love for gorgeous blooms, stripes and sparkles? So SMP. Her intimate yet sophisticated wedding beautifully captured by Shannon Lee Miller made us all as giddy as if she as our best friend, and you can see all the reasons why here.

From The Bride…My wedding day was quite a dream and I could’nt wait until the day that I would be able to share it with you. My wedding and reception were held at a historic Winter Park home turned museum in early June. There were about 75 guests made up of family and friends in attendance making the day seem very intimate and full of support from those who are closet to my husband and I. I knew that I wanted my wedding to be extremely sophisticated yet simple, and I achieved this by utilizing the romantic setting of the beautiful Casa Feliz. The classic brick home against the pops of color from the lush landscape created the perfect scene from day to night. We made hand painted signs for all of the food and tables using old picture frames and chalkboard paint, and well as acclectic vintage frames to display pictures aroung the venue. I have always had a love for black and white strips and sparkles( being the girly girl that I am) so I knew that I needed to somehow incorporate both of those into the day. The sequin table runners that I chose were eye catching yet classic, and really popped next to the black and white striped table cloths that were scattered throughout the home. Because I opted for a lot of neutral colors throughout my wedding, I had bright, full bouquets with various shades of pink and coral peonies and garden roses, with pops of bright greens in the bridal bouquet. These colors fit perfectly as center pieces and decoration throughout the house. To accompany the center pieces we used over 100 candles ranging in sizes, each placed within an antique or thrifted candle holder in different shades of gold. On most tables, we were able to find vintage lanterns from different antique stores in both Winter Park and Chattanooga (where the groom is from.) The food was truely amazing and the caterer could not have done a better job. We used Arthurs Catering and chose to do chef stations featuring naything from prime rib and mashed potato bar to grilled shrimp mini tacos with freshly made guacamole. We did small portions of everything so the guests were able to go station to station and try all of the wonderful food options. Overall, It was a magical night that I will never forget, and I hope you, too, can see the charm and love from this special day.

Hutchinson Island Surprise Proposal Shoot

I think we all secretly want to peek in on everyone else’s proposals. It’s our way. So when this beautiful proposal disguised as a styled shoot came across my desk, I was giddy from the first of Sampson Photography’s photos but the goosebumps really hit right when he dropped to one knee. There is so much glee in my heart right now!

From Sampson PhotographyLocal executive chef, Kyle Greene, and his stunning girlfriend Gina Nair are one of our area’s hottest couples. Always dressing with fashion and sophistication in mind, I thought they would enjoy a couple’s photo shoot. We started planning the concept, hoping for a glamour look, brought in stylist Lara Fiorelli of Lara’s Theme and things just took off from there! Kyle called me about 5 days prior to the shoot to fill me in on his plan to propose to Gina DURING the shoot! I was so excited! We were given permission to use the most exquisite home in our area as the setting. Gina and I went back and forth about what kind of dress would look best, jewelry ideas and any props. I tried so hard not to slip up about the proposal! I coached Kyle on his wardrobe, although he really has no problem looking absolutely dashing every minute of the day! Lara was instrumental in all of the props and set up!

Sweet Outdoor Wedding Florida Wedding at Santa Rosa Beach

A love story that took this adorable duo from Russia to Florida and then to “I do”, this wedding is not only beautiful, but so incredibly special too. Of course, it was planned to perfection by Serene Occasions with gorgeous florals from Floral by the sea, but it’s the love in all the images from Amanda Suanne that really shines through, and how can you not love that? See even more here.

From The Bride…My husband and I met in summer of 2008 in a little city of Omaha. Both being from Russia, it took us to go across the globe to find each other. We worked together for several weeks before he finally found the courage to ask me out. Several dates later and many romantic nights, our relationship grew into something bigger than what we expected. A few years later, he proposed to me on the Skywalk at The Grand Canyon, my favorite place in the whole world. And here we are today – married and ready to write a new page in the book of our lives.

Our wedding preparation began last summer. We chose a classic combination of gray and pink and followed the concept through entire wedding including the bridal party and color of the cocktails. At first glance it seemed like an easy task, my assumptions were far from reality. Hundreds of hours were spent on trying to find the best photographer, my dream come true reception and ceremony venues as well as other routine but necessary pieces of one giant puzzle called, the wedding.

The most difficult challenge was finding the dress of my dreams made by my favorite designer – Vera Wang. Trying to fit this beautiful dress that I dreamed of ever since I was a teenager into a budget was not easy but we did it! After countless hours spent in numerous stores with my parents and friends, here I’m, in my dream dress with my incredible husband!!! The best part of the wedding – surprise song from my husband and surprise video from our friends. It was so sweet! You can see the picture below.

Boca Raton Resort Wedding Full of Tropical Elegance

Bold statement alert: This wedding just earned it’s place in my top five favorite weddings ever. And this whole tropical elegance vibe it has going on? Per-fection. With the wildly beautiful Boca Raton Resort as the backdrop, it’s hard not to feel like you’re in a tropical wonderland. Layer on coral reef-like florals from Boca By Design, pale mint ‘maids, starfish heels and one breathtaking Monique Lhuillier number? And we’re taken from pretty to beyond. See the gorgeous gallery from Justin DeMutiis for so much more.

From Justin DeMutiis PhotographyEmma and David met in Miami in early 2011 through mutual friends. David was living on South Beach and Emma had just moved to Miami from a small town in central Illinois. It took David seven months to convince Emma he was not the “typical male” living in Miami. Soon after, David bought a house and moved to Pompano Beach, about a 45 minute drive from Miami. Emma moved in February 2013 and on March 14, 2013 David proposed on his boat on the way to “dinner”. Instead of taking the boat to dinner, they took it over to David’s parent’s house where Emma’s parents and other family members were waiting to celebrate!

From the beautiful Bride…From the moment David and I got engaged we knew we wanted a few important things: an awesome venue, a great photographer, and a DJ that would have everyone dancing. We chose the Boca Raton Resort and Club because it’s beautiful and it offered our guests a weekend of luxury! The Cloister Garden is lush with greenery, mosaic tile, fountain and the pink backdrop of the resort. Inside, in the Cathedral Room, it is very different than any hotel ballroom. The hotel is casual yet elegant, with the glam that I was looking for! David and I have family all over the country, so if they were traveling to South Florida for our wedding, we wanted to provide them with a weekend of fun and activities so they didn’t have to leave the resort or rent a car. We saw the resort on a very stormy and rainy day, and fell in love. We knew that if we loved it on such an ugly day that we, and our guests, would love it on our wedding day and we did!

Red White and Blue Anniversary Session

As the girl who tied the knot over the 4th of July weekend many moons ago, beautiful Americana inspiration predictably wins my heart every time. This perfect anniversary session from 13:13 Photography has done just that with it’s red and white stripes, naked cake adorned with strawberries and blackberries, and stunning beach locale. It’s one for the books, this one.

Cristy and David are such a sweet couple, happy and in love, and celebrating their one-year anniversary. They met in college 2008, but didn’t start dating until 2010. They finally tied the knot last year and are still as in love as ever. We wanted to celebrate their love with a pretty, romantic beach picnic, adorned with a hint of red white and blue to inspire the warm summery feelings solicited by our favorite summer holiday!

Vintage Glam Florida Wedding

I love a wedding that thinks outside the typical design box. A wedding that embraces the eclectic and can pull off both “vintage” and “modern” in one fell swoop. It’s the kind of thing that happens when both bride and bridesmaid work with Peplum Event And Design, and thanks to the beautiful work of Michelle March we’ve got our hands on every last bit. Go ahead and get lost in the gallery right here.

From the Bride…. I think back at our wedding and I still can’t believe all of this was for John and I! What made the wedding so special was that we stayed true to who we are and what we represent, fun loving people who just love to create and inspire. Our wedding was the true essence of creativity and fun.

Thinking back to the planning process, the details meant everything to us. Starting from the venue to the invitations, to the paper tassels and especially our fringed walled! Most of the details were handmade and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my planner/bridesmaid/designer, Jelli from Peplum Events & Design. She really executed our vision flawlessly! The classic black and white details mixed in with touches of gold and bright colors were very aesthetically pleasing. We wanted our guests to feel like they were in a cottage somewhere in Europe while having fun celebrating with us!

There were some very unique details that reflected our personalities, such as having guests sign a bass drum because John is a drummer and lots of paper details since I am a lover of paper and own my own paper design business, Lalita Paperie & Designs. I have no regrets and would encourage all brides to really think outside the box and let this day be a reflection of your personalities. We were blessed in so many ways and our vendors were truly the best of the best!

From the planner, Jelli of Peplum Events… It was extra special being able to plan and design this fantastic wedding for two very important people in my life. It was an honor to do all of that while also standing by the bride’s side while she married the man of her dreams.

Usually, Laudys and I work together to make other brides’ wedding dreams come to life as she is a part of Peplum’s creative team, but this time she was the client. Although we worked countless nights together to create all of the beautiful handmade details and plan her dream wedding, she was able to enjoy her bride moment on the day of her wedding and my team was able to execute everything flawlessly.

I understood their vision and it was fun to be able to curate the entire event because they are a fun couple and the wedding was a true reflection of their personalities. I never thought I would be able to play both roles, but the team of vendors we worked with were really the best and this amazing wedding would have not been such a success without any of them. Seeing their smiling faces in a place so full of love was really the most memorable moment for me as their planner and bridesmaid. It was so heart-warming to know that I had something to do with that moment of happiness and to have been in the presence of true love.

Chic Sarasota, FL Wedding at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

I’ve professed my love for  Justin DeMutiis a time or two on this site, and really, how can you blame me when he sends weddings like this botanical beauty our way. Captured in a way that feels like pure magic, every image sitting in this gallery makes my heart beat a bit faster, and you can see them all here.

From The Bride…Our wedding took place on a beautiful spring day (March 1, 2014) in Sarasota, Florida in a plush, green botanical garden. It was the most magical day – it almost seemed as if the heaven’s were shining down on us. The weather was absolutely perfect – 78 degrees, with zero humidity, and lots of sunshine. You could smell the aroma of blooming flowers all around the gardens. There was a light breeze that kept our guest cool, and made my veil dance as I walked down the aisle with my father, which was one of the most anticipated, and memorable, walks of my life. Our ceremony was very emotional and full of love. There were lots of laughs, and happy tears. My mom, sister and I put together almost all of our decorations, including the homemade burlap/lace tablecloth overlays on each reception table. It was the epitome of southern elegance. I had a unique charm attached to my bouquet of my Mema (Dad’s mom) who passed away nearly 20 years ago. My brother surprised me by playing the guitar and singing a slow country song at the beginning of our reception. It was one of the most touching experiences of my life…I’ll never forget it. My husband and I, who have been together for 6 years, were SO happy to share this perfect day with our friends and family. We had known every single person in our bridal party for at least 10 years. They all hold a special place in our lives. Our guests continue to talk about how awesome our wedding day was, and we couldn’t agree more!

From Vitalic PhotoDeirdre + Vince’s wedding was the very first wedding that took place in the Up the Creek Farms boathouse in Valkaria, Florida. Nestled into this tiny town, Up the Creek Farms is on a gorgeous piece of land on an old Florida-style creek. Their outdoor ceremony took place under the oak trees, their cocktail hour on the deck of the boathouse and their reception inside the barn-like boathouse with exposed rafters and crystal chandeliers. Nave Event Design did a beautiful job with the design and florals for the event. The bride actually baked her own cakes since she owns and operates Soulfully Sweet, a bakery with the aim to create healthy and gluten free treats. Deirdre + Vince’s intimate wedding was full of sweet fun and emotion with all of their guests frequently mentioning how perfect they are for each other.

Seaside, Florida Sunset Engagement

Lauren and Stephen claim to be complete opposites, but in this stunning engagement session they’re in perfect in sync. We love it when a couple’s smiles jump off the page! Thanks to Lauren Kinsey’s beautiful photography we can share in this couple’s laughter and joy right along with them. Enjoy more of the fun in the full gallery here!

From Lauren Kinsey: Authentic…The only word that comes to mind when I think of this sweet couple. Lauren and Stephen are self described “opposites”, but they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They kept me laughing throughout our entire session and their smiles are contagious. Love radiates through these images and proves that laughter really is the key to a happy marriage.

Simple-Chic Floridian Wedding

Sometimes simplicity says it best, and I think that’s the case for this next chic Floridian wedding. The exquisite grounds of Stanahan House painted a perfect backdrop for the Bellissima Bride gown to steal the spotlight – and with its lace details and dramatic train, it definitely did! Catch all the gorgeous details here, in a gallery by Carolina Guzik Photography.

From Carolina Guzik PhotographyThis Wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The decoration was simple, yet exquisite and the Stranahan House was the perfect location for this affair.

Danielle + Ryan didn’t want to see each other prior to the ceremony, so the moment when Danielle walked down the isle was very emotional. She looked perfect on her lace gown and Ryan was moved to tears.

After their ceremony we spent some time together getting some stunning romantic images both around the grounds of the Stranahan House and The Riverside Hotel.

I loved the fact that Danielle wore the gold rosary of her late grandma around her bouquet, and that she gave her parents handmade handkerchief with a personal message.

Sunny Engagement Session in Alys Beach

This seaside engagement filled with golden light and a keen sense for fashion and architecture pairings is straight magic. Magic at the the hands of Lauren Kinsey Fine Art Wedding Photography who captured this duo from oceanfront frolicking to smooching on the streets of Alys Beach. See all the pretty snapshots right here in the full gallery.

Lauren Kinsey Fine Art Wedding PhotographyI couldn’t wait to work with Jason & Vonna. We decided that a gold inspired session was perfect for the setting of Alys Beach, with it’s Bermudan inspired architecture. It was a gorgeous day and when it came time to shoot, the sun shone down perfectly and scattered in little droplets around the couple. Sheer perfection, in my book.

Modern + Fresh Engagement Party

Popping the question is cause for all sorts of celebration, and this morning we’re showcasing just that. I’m talking an engagement party styled to the nines, with Megan Martin Weddings, and Amber Veatch Designs behind every moment. From the modern flowers to decor, striped runners and more, they made certain no detail went unnoticed, and La Bella Imagery captured each bit. Hop to the gallery and don’t miss the film from Nick Leonard Creative.

From La Bella ImageryToday I bring to you a detailed engagement party celebrating the modern, sweet bride. I chose to use one of my real couples and decided to turn their engagement photo session into a complete celebration of their upcoming marriage in October 2014.

St. Augustine, FL was the perfect setting for our design, as the White Room incorporates the modern and sophisticated look we were going for. Every detail you see is handcrafted, designed or chosen by our vendors right down to the flowers, stationary, striped table runner, gorgeous glassware and classic detailed chargers. We’ve also included details in the bride’s clothing and accessories from one of our local boutiques in Jacksonville, FL.

Our idea was to show a classic, stylish party that incorporated fun colors and modern details. I didn’t need to say anymore, and my designers brought this vision to life! We hope you adore every detail of this fresh engagement soiree brought to you by some of the sweetest vendors in the Northeast Florida region!

From Megan Martin WeddingsAmber Veatch and I decided to join together and start a new company for stylish event rentals in South called Set Event Rentals & Design. And what do you do when you start a company? Make pretty things to celebrate of course! So we called our good friend Megan Hausmann of La Bella Imagery and decided to surprise one of her couples with an intimate engagement party. For the style, we wanted to keep the look fresh, bright and modern with crisp black and white stripes juxtaposed by bright and flirty florals in shades of corals, pinks and white. We love how The White Room’s clean and airy space made the party feel modern and really let the details shine. The best part of the night was watching how much fun the couple and their parents had getting dressed up and celebrating what we know will be a beautiful wedding and marriage to come and that’s why we do what we do!

From The Bride…From the beginning of the wedding planning process, I knew I wanted the day to be very romantic. Jeff and I were both born and raised on the West Coast, and having lived so far from our families for so many years, they haven’t spent much time with us together as a couple. We wanted to be married in an intimate atmosphere where our guests would truly feel and see the love between us. The estate leant itself to the soft, elegant vision I had for the day, and the floral arrangements made the space absolutely exquisite. We had 7 weeks to plan our event, 5 weeks of which we were across the country. It took a lot of pressure off- that I didn’t have time to hum and ha over little details. I had to make decisions posthaste! Everything came together as beautifully as it did quickly, and I am so grateful for the team that helped us create a wedding as lovely and romantic as I could have imagined.

I am not a DIY bride, but I don’t feel that our wedding was lacking a personal touch. One of my bridesmaids packed little jars with lavender sugar for favors, and topped them with personalized labels. Jeff and I repurposed the corks we had collected from bottles of wine we have enjoyed together over the years, to use as place card holders. (Some even had dates and memories written on them). The flower crown I was gifted during our surprise engagement party in May was preserved and used for my darling flower girl niece. A friend of ours set up a photo booth, and the photos from which are some of the highlights of the evening, for us and our guests.

We also wanted to do a first look and portraits before the ceremony, and I’m so glad we did. I can say that it didn’t take any of the emotion away from his face when it was time for me to walk down the aisle, and it gave us a little more time to spend with family and guests once the ceremony had ended. The photos from the first look have such sweet sentiment to them, I would suggest it to any brides who are considering it.

The entire day seemed absolutely enchanted, and I am certain our friends and family will feel more closely connected to us, having been a part of the most remarkable day of our lives.

From Kallima PhotographyMeagan and Chris chose to get married on a cool day in St. Augustine. A classic and timeless theme for the day was thoroughly seen through by the bride and her event team. Green and white hues adorned most every detail, with pops of gold and gorgeous blue gowns worn by the bridesmaids.

Downtown St. Augustine is home to many bed and breakfasts and historic roads. The groom and his men got dressed for the day at the Peredes-Sequi-MacMillan House, a Historic 3 story Spanish Colonial. While the groomsmen smoked cigars and sported sunglasses for pictures, Chris made good use of Brooks Brother’s A Gentleman Walks Down the Aisle guide to tie his bow-tie. Meagan’s Ramona Keveza gown and Jimmy Choo flats fit the style of her classic fete, and partnered perfectly with Chris’ black tux and timeless bow-tie. Their welcome bags consisted of water, chocolate, a hangover kit and map to the area, as well as local Dat’l Do’it hot sauce.

The ceremony was nestled on the lawn of the River House, which is right on the Matanzas River in St. Augustine, Florida. Guests were treated to appetizers and drinks on the back porch of the grand house, and the reception moved them indoors for a night of dancing. While the men enjoyed cigars on the wrap around porch, the women were on the dance floor crowd surfing the cardboard cutout of the grooms military brother, who wasn’t able to attend the wedding but served as the best man.

From Marissa MossJessica was very hands-on in creating the beautiful wedding she envisioned using her budget wisely in a few key areas. She secured The Oxford Exchange for her venue which set the tone for a beautiful, intimate wedding in a gorgeous venue. She also had a very specific vision for her flowers that she felt she could execute herself, which she did so wonderfully! I still cannot believe that she made all of her own centerpieces and bouquets and that they turned out so lovely. The rest of her vision came together in the form of sparkly bridesmaids dresses, picked to suit each maid, a beautiful cake, and lots of candlelight.

From Sixpence ProductionsWe get the sweetest couples from all over the country. Jennifer and Chad were from Iowa and showed us just how much fun and incredibly kind people from the Hawkeye state are. I knew they were the perfect clients for us when Jen told us about Chad’s proposal. It was at her Dad’s farm at Mother’s Day weekend and all the family was over for a “grill out” in the backyard under the stars. Beyond that all she could remember were the tears and giggles when Chad proposed. Tears and giggles. What more could a girl want?!?

From the beautiful Bride…I guess you could say that we met in an operating room. I am a physician assistant and Chad, at the time, was a rad tech that I was introduced to by one of his friends. I was astonished that I had never noticed that amazing smile before and I was hooked after that first introduction. Our relationship has endured a move from Iowa to Austin and then back, due to a job for me and for Chad’s acceptance into dental school. An engagement, therefore, sort of took a back seat due to all of these life changes. But, when we did get engaged, we decided early on to go away for the wedding. Florida was our state of choice and the second we saw Carillon Beach and The Meeting House we knew it was the place we would say some very special words to each other. We also loved the idea of an outdoor reception, and The Village Green was perfect. Not to mention Avis was sweet as pie, and made us feel right at home. She was there for us through the entire process, and we are forever grateful for that.

The inspiration for our wedding style and colors was fairly simple, we both wanted to keep it fresh, clean, and crisp. My favorite color is green, so we just kind of ran with it from there. We used the olive branch for its symbolism, and incorporated it throughout the day. Those July days in Florida can get a bit muggy, so we wanted to keep things nice and light. We wanted to make sure that all of our guests who made the trip felt welcome and relaxed. I was pretty laid back about the details, and it all came together better than we could have imagined, thanks to Christina from Events by Nouveau Flowers, and no thanks to rain all morning.

We made a pact with each other to experience our day together because we both wanted to see what the other was seeing. We were always by each other’s side and wanted to be in that place for our first day of married life. We are so glad we did! Although, I think we have more pictures of us smooching than not, oh well!!

We were also able to incorporate some old and new into the day. We were given beautiful Irish Waterford toasting flutes, we had a local printer design and print a Quaker-style wedding certificate that we used in place of a traditional guest book, each of the bouquets were wrapped in my Grandmother’s scarves, and my bouquet had the rosary given to me by my Grandparents for my First Communion. I also had my monogram in blue sewn into my dress along with some “Irish luck” from my mom.

We did have a fun time deciding on favors for our guest. We came up with using champagne flutes as our escort cards. Thank goodness for Avis! I had very vague idea and she made it come to life! She came up with a cute little saying to pull it all together. We also decided on koozies, with custom art work of the Meeting House and our wedding date. They turned out perfectly!

We had quite a few friends tell us how much they couldn’t remember about their own wedding day, and many of them said if they could do it all over again they would have it filmed. This became a priority for us and when we started do some research on it, we were blown away by the work of Sixpence Productions. I would sit and watch other couples’ sneak peek films, and I felt like I was actually there. Joanna and Rob were incredible! We have guests to this day who see our film and tell us that they didn’t even realize they were there filming. It means everything to us to have this very special day and the special moments on film for us to forever enjoy!

Every time I watch the sneak peek footage (which I’m not sure if I should admit how many times I’ve replayed it), it’s so special for me to see Chad’s reaction to seeing me as the doors of the Meeting House opened. We decided not to see each other before the ceremony; I am so glad we waited because is this one of my most favorite moments. Had it not been caught on film, I would have never truly understood how he was feeling.

Having beautiful photographs to complement our film was also at the top of our priority list. Paul Johnson Photography truly gave us timeless photographs to cherish for a lifetime. Paul and Mecheal were wonderful! Their work tells a story of the day. I can see what Chad was doing at the exact time I was doing what brides do, and vice versa. What a priceless gift!

Romantic Miami Wedding at Red Fish Grill

This is the kind of wedding that really makes my heart sing. Because not only is it filled with gorgeous details that will leave my head spinning all day (hello gorgeous blooms from Ines Naftali, I’m talking to you), but it’s also overflowing with love. The kind of love you can just feel through each of 13:13 Photography‘s beautiful images, and it just takes one look at this gallery to see what I mean.

Whimsical

From The Bride… Ben and I share a contagious kind of love that surrounds us and makes everyone around feel confident, happy and at ease, so when it came time to plan our wedding the most important thing was to bring together all of our closest friends and family for an unforgettable celebration inspired by a beautiful mashup of the best of both of us. Since we fell in love during our last two years attending the University of Miami, it was an obvious choice to get married close to where it all began. Matheson Hammock provided the perfect backdrop: a lush grassy park with huge photogenic trees for the ceremony, and an old historic coral structure for the reception nestled in an idyllic beach lagoon that overlooks Biscayne Bay with the downtown Miami skyline glistening on the horizon. It’s a setting so naturally gorgeous it hardly needs any decoration, and a venue my very foodie family certainly approved of as well. Both Ben and I are borderline flower children and true creatives at heart, and we wanted to create an environment for our wedding that felt elegant yet down-to-earth and infused with personal touches to make it feel like us. Our very own intimate park to oceanside bohemian fairytale.

To bring the vision to life, we opted against hiring a planner to help save a few bucks and since my career in marketing/PR made me somewhat well-equipped to pull this off. Plus, bridezilla just isn’t my style. The deep greens and lush, organic hues you’d find a tropical garden served as our primary color palette, paired with my very favorite coral peonies (luckily just barely in season!) to add just the perfect pop of color. The florist was among the most important line items in our budget, and my sweet amazing mom who knows everything about nature deserves all the credit for working closely with the incredibly talented Ines Naftali to help create the most gorgeous unkempt arrangements and bouquets that fit beautifully amid the natural, uneven textures of driftwood, burlap, vintage glassware and twinkling candles that I wanted to incorporate into the tablescape design. I’d fallen in love with Ashley and Philip’s work and unique style after stumbling upon their blog a few years back, and after exchanging a few emails, just knew that they were the only photographers who could capture the genuine emotion and essence of our special day in a way that we will treasure for years to come. Everything else we kept whimsical and simple.

Ben personally wrote our entire inter-faith ceremony, and I put my artistic talents to work by designing and creating all of our paper elements by hand — including the cut-out paper heart fan programs, chevron seating cards, craft paper menus and handwritten notes. Inspired by old Miami photographs, the thank-you cards resembled real vintage postcards that displayed various images of 1920s Matheson Hammock Park, which were taken right beside the place where our reception actually took place. Each table was designated by a vintage Miami postcard image, showing different locations around Miami that holds special meaning in our relationship. From our mismatched bridesmaid dresses to the assortment of mini key lime pies in lieu of a formal wedding cake, traditional and matchy-matchy just isn’t our style. Our wedding reflected exactly who Ben and I are as a couple — fun, free-spirited and marvelously complex — in everything from the paper lanterns our closest friends helped us string up earlier that morning, to the Polaroid selfies our guests took instead of signing a guest book, down to the perfectly crisp fall weather and waves of positive energy flowing through atmosphere all evening. It really was the best day ever.
