From Bridges CinemaThis is the wedding day story of Monica and John. What a beautiful love story!! Monica and John met at medical school at Penn State University in Hershey, PA. They dated throughout medical school. It was during the Christmas break that John proposed at one the spots Monica often frequented as a little girl.

They planned their wedding at the gorgeous Villa Woodbine and St. Hugh’s Catholic Church. One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of one of Monica’s favorite local band, Palo. This Afro-Cuban Funk band is a 2015 Grammy Nominee and 2014 Latin Grammy Nominee. You will have a chance to listen to a snippet of one of their songs in the highlight.

Garden Inspired Ballroom Wedding

Pulling off a classic, elegant, garden party indoors is no easy feat, but one look at this glamorous affair? Well, it just goes to show that with Miranda Hattie Events, wedding dreams become reality. And with Katie Lopez Photography snapping up a gallery filled with love and lush blooms, you’re sure to want to see it all, right here!

From the beautiful Bride… Brian and I met 11 years ago on a summer trip to Israel. Over the years that followed, we remained friends and eventually started dating in the summer of 2008. 5 years later we got engaged and on November 2nd, 2014 tied the knot on what was THE best day, ever.

We live in New York, Brian is from Houston and I’m originally from Puerto Rico, however the majority of my (very) large family is in Miami, so we decided on a Florida wedding because, hello, who wouldn’t want to spend a weekend in the Sunshine State?! Finding a venue wasn’t easy — the large number of wedding guests eliminated many of the outdoor venues I had my eye on and I wasn’t crazy about the idea of an ornate, stuffy ballroom. What drew us to the JW Marriott Marquis was the modern, open, neutral space that basically gave us the freedom to do whatever we wanted with! And do with it we would — with the expert and oh-so-wonderful taste of Miranda Estes, my vision of a classic, elegant garden party was brought to life.

It’s impossible for me to pick a favorite moment of the night, but highlights include the intense Hora that kicked the party off, an impromptu serenade of a “Wicked” classic by my dear friend Emily, and the insanely delicious artisanal Latin ice cream stand we hired from Miami’s Little Havana district. The absolute best part though, was marrying my best friend and celebrating the start of our new life surrounded by our closest friends and family.

From the beautiful Bride… Jeff and I met in the fall of 2008. Mutual friends accidentally brought us together in a relationship that no one saw coming. After almost 6 years together, and 20 months of wedding planning, in the midst of an international move, I can safely say that our wedding ended up being the best day of our lives thus far. Friends and family flew in from all over the world and our focus for the weekend was to celebrate them. While we knew the day would be forever special for us, we wanted the people who had glued us together and supported us over the years to feel loved and thanked. Our goal was to make the night feel like a gorgeous dinner at our dream home. Comfortable, chic, classic, and the most fun ever.

Picking the location came easy. Moving our wedding from Santa Monica, CA to Coral Gables, FL after finding out that Jeff’s job would be moving us to the Bahamas, the only place that came to mind was Villa Woodbine. My aunt had gotten married there over 20 years ago and I had been the flower girl. My mind was locked. My mom toured the venue with her iPad to reassure me that the Villa was still as beautiful as it was in my memory and we signed the dotted line quickly, and well before the wedding. Finding Miranda was my next step and a true blessing. I had scoured the internet and loved every wedding of hers. Jeff and I would have been lost without her during this insane time in our lives. She kept us on track and in the magic. Telling people in the wedding industry you want a modern, yet cozy wedding centered around baby’s breath and toile will get you some odd reactions. But Miranda went with it and helped me design the wedding I had been hoping for.

Throughout the process I wasn’t lying when I said I had the absolute wedding dream team. I never needed to worry about how things would turn out, because I loved everything these ladies touched. From planning, to flowers, to photography… I had the best of the best.

The ceremony was a traditional Catholic mass at St. Kieran’s Catholic Church, the cocktail hour was led by a Spanish Guitarist, the first dance was Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud”, and the Best Man’s speech started the party. We danced the night away in the most beautiful venue, punctuated by taper candles, bistro lights, chandeliers, crisp white flowers, and toile.

I was definitely a bride with a vision. All white flowers. No leaves. Toile accents. Fun music. Baby’s breath. No sweetheart table. Classic. Clean. Chic. Lots of Dancing. Those were the guidelines. I think we nailed it. Everyone in attendance wished it was an annual event. Success!

Florida Seaside Bridal Shower

This seaside beauty takes beachside brunching to an entirely new level of chic. Showering the beautiful Bride-to-be with Myrtie Blue blooms and a peachy keen cake, this stunning fete from the lens of Kaylie B. Poplin is bridal shower inspiration like you’ve never seen before. From the tables lined with treasures from the sea, to the sweet babies in attendance, every detail is waiting for you in this gorgeous gallery.

From Kaylie B. Poplin PhotographyI am all things coastal and floral. When I moved to the Emerald Coast nine years ago, I knew that I would be calling this place home for as far as I could see. The emerald waters that crash along the shore, the sound of sea gulls in the mornings, the scent of salty air… all of it has encompassed all of me. Here I am about to marry a Florida boy in a few weeks that I met after I moved here, so naturally, when it came time to talk about a bridal shower, I didn’t even have to think about it. I knew that I wanted it to be on the beach where I said that I would call this place home for as long as I could… and the same beach where I spent a Summer getting to know that Florida boy I will marry. This bridal shower is everything that I am and that I love all wrapped up into details, faces and place.

As soon as I decided that I was going to pursue this dream shower, I contacted Tori of Victoria Austin Designs. She is a stylist whose work makes my mouth drop! The work that I had seen her do was aesthetically what I wanted, so I knew she would be the best one to bring the vision to life. She did just that, but in more ways that I could have asked for! I then spoke with Myrtie Blue who is known on the Emerald Coast and nationally for their work with florals. I sat down with Brian, told him my vision and the pops of color that I was wanting to incorporate and just as I knew he would, he absolutely nailed it!

Friends and family who have seen or were at the shower have all asked how it was done, and I say without a shadow of a doubt that it was because of the vendors involved. I also respond telling them that it was also brought to life by the ladies that came and made this experience and my life up to this point, the most perfect one I could have ever dreamed of.

Elegant Vintage Inspired Bayshore Wedding

What I would’ve given to attend this celebration. From a vivant timbalero player, to Spanish guitarists, to specialty cocktails followed by fresh beignets and cafe au lait, every moment is memorable. It’s a marriage made for sharing and Pezz Photo captured it all right here!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/112606050 600 338]

From the beautiful Bride… Jon and I both come from big crazy families with thick accents. His side happens to be Louisiana Cajun while mine comes from Argentina. We celebrated this blending of cultures through music and food. A classic Spanish guitarist performed during our cocktail hour where bartenders served up specialty cocktails named “La Latina” (a pomegranate margarita) and “El Gringo” (a whiskey on the rocks). After dinner, a timbalero took the stage drumming in harmony with our DJ who played salsa and merengue. Once the dance floor was packed we threw a mini New Orleans Mardi Gras. Within minutes the entire room was parading around with umbrellas, masks, hats, beads and feather boas. We even served fresh beignets and cafe au lait.

I always knew I wanted to create a classic, elegant and romantic atmosphere, but my specific décor was inspired by my dress. When I picked a 1920’s style Lazaro gown with layers of ruffles and vintage-inspired embroidery, I knew I had to go a little Gatsby. I picked a classic black and ivory color scheme with metallic accents and tons of candles to help the room sparkle. Our escort cards and menus used Art Deco fonts and geometric patterns. My favorite décor element was our shiny black vinyl dance floor.

Hire the best photographer and videographer you can afford, and do your best to get to know them before the big day. These professionals are with you all day! You want them to be experienced, calm under pressure and willing to take charge. I know they’re expensive when they’re good… but trust me, they’re well worth it!

Nautical Cape Cod Wedding

This is what I’m calling nautical with a twist.  A pretty little seaside affair with beautiful details and a sophistication that only New England’s finest vendors could craft.  Think Chocolate Creative DesignSayles Livingston Flowers and Urban Lace Events all coming together to create a Cape Cod worthy affair with a hint of golden glamour.  See it all captured by Brian Dorsey Studios right here.

From Urban Lace EventsThe Bride and Groom live in New York City, but have spent many holidays and weekends in Cape Cod where the groom enjoyed childhood summers with his family. When choosing a wedding venue, the couple desired a location where friends and family could come together for a relaxing getaway. After visiting Chatham Bars Inn, the couple fell in love with its seaside location and elegant yet relaxing atmosphere.

With its seaside location, the couple envisioned a reception with a nautical feel. We see a lot of nautically designed weddings each year so we really wanted to elevate it and create a design with originality and sophistication. With Lucinda Wesson from Chocolate Creative Design on board to create the wedding paper, we knew it would be just that! The couples favorite detail was the Save the Dates that included a beautiful custom designed fabric pouch complete with a brass “porthole” and map of Cape Cod. The bride loved how the save the date set the tone for the wedding and got guest excited for the big day. The pattern used for the save the dates was carried throughout the wedding with the custom made table runners, menu cards, and wrapping paper for the bridal party gifts.

Elegant Tropical Miami Beach Wedding

Miami is home to some of the most awe inspiring weddings out there. Fabulous spaces, jaw dropping backdrops, gowns and gowns and gowns for days. And this wedding is no different…it’s Miami with a decidedly destination feel. Full of color, soul and everything beautiful in the world of weddings. With images from Katie Lopez Photography with planning and design by Miranda Hattie, this is a wedding worth devouring.

Colors

From Miranda Hattie EventsThis beautiful wedding takes all the best parts of Miami–the bright colors, the swaying palms, the modern vibe, the glamour and of course, the beach–and wraps it all up in one amazing package.

Mina and Manny were searching for a vacation spot for their guests, many of whom traveled from Turkey, as well as the perfect venue to support their vision of rustic elegance and outdoor dining and dancing under the stars. The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach was the perfect solution, as it features a large garden oasis with cabanas, bistro lights and lots of tropical foliage plus gave guests the opportunity to stay on the beach. With the venue secure, the style became one of romantic, modern elegance with a hint of tropical flair. The color palette was developed to enhance the lush setting, using white, ivory, blush and pale green with deeper greens and bits of silver, rich pink, orchid and plum. The ceremony was held in the garden, where the natural green backdrop was dressed up with a natural wood arch and the aisle was defined with glowing silver lanterns.

Following the ceremony, guests were escorted to a row of black and white striped cabanas, where they were served delicious small bites catered by acclaimed chef Michael Schwartz. Friends and family dined under a canopy of lights at tables dressed with elegant yet eclectic arrangements of tropical blooms. It was the kind of night where you just want to sit under the stars and soak in the dreaminess, true Miami Beach perfection.

Romantic Vintage Inspired Wedding at The Cooper Estate

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  I hope that’s true, because if I were to marry tomorrow, I would literally copy every.last.detail of this wedding.  From the rich burgundy and gold color palette to the sophisticated vintage vibe to the stunning setting (helloooo, Cooper Estate).  All captured by Shea Christine, you can see the world’s most beautiful wedding right here in the full gallery

From the beautiful Bride… The vision I had in mind while planning the wedding was “Vintage Elegance.” The Cooper Estate had the perfect aesthetic to go along with my vision! I also wanted it to feel warm and romantic, so I chose burgundy and gold tones, along with some light peach and ivory accents.

My lace wedding gown with a keyhole back achieved exactly the vintage feel I was going for, and my hair and makeup artists specialized in creating vintage-inspired looks. I wanted to find a way incorporate my creative side, so I decided to include a few hand-written decorative signs. One of my favorite wedding details was using the antique skeleton keys, which I collect, for our friends and family to share with us their “key to a successful marriage.” I feel like the floral design pulled everything together and was exactly what I had envisioned. Julia did an incredible job!

Country Chic Florida Farm Wedding

As I read the lovely story from Amalie Orrange, describing her beautiful day photographing this adorable couple, I could barely contain my excitement to dive into these images. Filled with some of the most gorgeous light I’ve seen, this springtime celebration was all sunny skies and smiles, warming my heart immediately. See why I’m in such a great mood with all these pretty pics right this way!

From Amalie Orrange Photography Katie and Austin were married at Isola Farms in Groveland, Florida. This is a cute as can be family farm that has been turned into a wedding venue and it has true Florida southern style.

There are days that just seem to click. Days where everything is just as it should be. Days that you don’t want to end. Days that every person you meet seems a bit friendlier, the flowers a bit brighter, the sun a bit more golden. Those days when you feel that everything and everyone is exactly as it should be. We love those days, especially when we get to share them with people like Katie and Austin.

We have worked with Katie in the past – she is the stylist, artist and amazing creative designer at RW Events – and each time we have worked with her we were blown away. Needless to say, we were beyond honored to be asked to photographed her day. Also, needless to say, we were a bit nervous as well. There is always butterflies, that is how I know that we still love what we do. The vision that she described was as down to earth as it was over the top. She wanted a feel that said ‘come in, everyone is welcome and everyone is family.’ With that being said, it’s much easier to say you want that feeling than it is to actually capture that feeling. You can have everything look exactly as you have dreamed and still have that SOMETHING missing. But Katie and Austin had it all. They knew that you can have the most beautiful venue, the prettiest flowers, the sunniest day, but without the true, genuine warmth of an inviting smile and a sincere ‘I’m glad you could make it and you are very important to us’ attitude, it’s still just pretty things.

Katie greeted everyone she saw with a giddy excitement that was nothing short of contagious. And even though I was meeting Austin for the first time that day, he made me feel like I was one of the most important parts of the day and he was just as happy to meet me as he was to greet an old member of the family. That is the welcome, come in and join our family feeling that Katie and Austin bring, something that we are so grateful for.

From the quiet moments before the ceremony to Katie’s dad officiating his daughter’s wedding, to the first dance under the golden sky, back-dropped by an American flag, to the cowboy boots, to the sweeping pastures, to the dancing, to the little things like the firm handshakes and warm hugs, everything was as it should be because of two people with a love that they felt everyone should share in. It was a truly magical day!

Elegant Downtown St. Pete Engagement Session

This St. Pete e-sesh is what happens when you mashup good style, sweet love and the sea all into one pretty package. Jacqui Cole captured Coley and Matt, along with their adorable mini golden doodle, on the sun-kissed waterfront surrounded by lush greens and a warm breeze. Escape to the full gallery for even more.

From Jacqui ColeColey and Matt’s engagement session was perfectly intimate and natural. They decided to roam around their hometown of St Pete, FL for their session. We started the session at the historic Vinoy Renaissance, where their mini golden doodle made a wonderful appearance! As the sun set over the harbor we made our way out onto the docks where Coley and Matt released their balloons. Coley’s impeccable sense of style, paired with their natural connection turned out so beautiful on film!

From the beautiful Bride-to-be… Matt and I have known each other for years, it was only a matter of the right timing till acquaintances became sparks, and sparks quickly became love. Not even a year went by before he was down on one knee, with our dog by our side, and he was asking for my hand in marriage.

For the engagement session I knew I wanted it to be near our wedding site, but in an area where we won’t be able to catch on our wedding day. We’re getting married at the St. Pete Museum of Fine Arts this coming October. Since I love photos that include greenery and nature, the hidden backdrops of St. Pete were perfect! When choosing what to wear for the session it wasn’t too hard for me – I love dresses, I mean loveee dresses. So being in anything other than that would just be uncomfortable so I picked outfits that made me feel pretty and most of all comfortable. As nervous as I was, I couldn’t believe how much our photographer eased our nerves. It was actually fun and i never expected that! I would definitely advise all the brides-to-be who are waiting for the engagement session to just take a deep breath and trust your photographer. You can plan all you want in your head, but ultimately, they are the one catching the shots. So be comfortable, laugh as much as you can, and be yourself.

When planning our wedding I think finding the right planner was key. They will direct you to the best connections they have. If you trust your planner, they will make sure to trust their recommended vendors. It will always be a win win! I’m so excited for the big day and walking down the isle in a dress I’m obsessed with to marry the man I keep falling more and more in love with everyday. It all seems so surreal still.

Romantic Wedding at The Cooper Estate

Loves, this is what romance looks like: a golden-hued rustic meets elegant affair held at the ever-beautiful Cooper Estate.  Think a stunning bride in Rose Clara, a dapper groom in bow tie and one of the most luxe weddings you will ever see; from the glamorous tablescapes coordinated by Kasey D Weddings to that breathtaking ceremony.  See it all captured by Shea Christine in the full gallery.

From the Bride… It was a perfect day in February, where the weather was crisp and cool and love and happiness radiated in all places. Our photographer, Shea Christine, captured this day in better ways that we could ever imagine. She’s a dream to work with and I hope to be able to work with her again. I’m already planning and scheming a way to make it happen, ha!

Our wedding resembled exactly what we wanted it to: US. It was a night filled with celebration with our closest family and friends and the decor was breathtaking. I took a lot of inspiration from where we got engaged and where we are currently living… Spain! Our venue, The Cooper Estate, is a rustic, woodsy and elegant location and it was beyond perfect for everything we wanted. An outdoor ceremony, an indoor reception and picture perfect backgrounds for all our photo opps.

It’s funny to see that amongst all the nerves I had building up to this day, the moment I was walking down the aisle with my dad, the only thing that my mind and heart where focused on was Adrian (and the occasional – “I hope I don’t fall”). I couldn’t believe I was actually in this moment and I was about to marry the man of my dreams…. and then the nervousness quickly turned into uncontrollable excitement.

We wanted our ceremony to be a few things: simple, brief, and all about our relationship. We were beyond thrilled when our good friend and mentor agreed to do our ceremony with us! We really wanted an officiant who knew both Adrian and I – so it could be really heartfelt – and someone who was part of our church. There was no better fit.

During cocktail hour, our favorite drinks were handed out and the reception was filled with everyone on the dance floor. Just the way we hoped it would be!

This was the most amazing day of my life and I can’t stop smiling going back and reliving these moments (I seriously wish I could do it all over again). Our wedding was beautiful and the photos are a true work of art.

Hint of Glamour Powel Crosley Estate Wedding

This beautiful Bride’s favorite part of her Big Day was the first time she saw her dashing Groom, which so happens to be my favorite capture from Justin DeMutiis Photography. First looks make me gush with emotion and theirs? It’ll make you all warm and fuzzy inside. The rest of their 20’s-inspired fete, coordinated by Fabulously Chic Weddings, is striking to say the least.

From the beautiful Bride… Our initial idea was a vintage style wedding which incorporated warm romantic candlelight with a speakeasy vibe, mixed with a nod to roaring 20s. The inspiration was derived from our favorite late night spots in New York City and love for all things antique & classic. Much to the help of Courtney, we were able to narrow down our focus and put all of our ideas together in a clear and concise platform which made for an amazing night!

Once we found our location at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida we knew we had the perfect location to build out our perfect wedding day. We rolled the dice on the weather and planned for an all outdoor wedding day, start to finish. We wanted our out of town guests to really feel why we love Florida – a nice mild November night in Florida was a welcomed escape for our New York travelers.

As the guests entered through the front door of the historic Powel Crosley Estate for the first time they saw the beautiful furniture from Wish Vintage Rentals that was set to the sides of the room with the candle-filled fireplace straight-ahead. The nostalgic estate, built in 1929, immediately takes you back in time and sets the vibe for what’s to come. Looking through the back doors to the patio, you are greeted with the amazing landscape of the Sarasota intracoastal and Longboat Key. After a heartfelt ceremony accompanied by a string trio, guests made their way to the gazebo situated on the back of the lawn, right on the water. As the extended cocktail hour, complete with jazz music from days past, came to an end, the sun set behind the Key and painted the sky in beautiful pink and orange arrays as our guests enjoyed the warm breeze. As the sunlight diminished behind the horizon the glimmer of an overabundance of candlelight sparkled off the long gold sequin table runners on the three parallel feasting tables set in the middle of the lawn. Black table cloths, five piece settings of gold flatware, gold charger plates topped with black center plates, gold chivari chairs… candlelight, speakeasy, roaring 20’s… and a touch of vintage. Our vision became a reality that was felt just as strongly as it was seen.

I think my absolute favorite detail was the lighting throughout the whole event. We knew from the start of wedding planning that we wanted cafe lights to be a large part of our decor. That was one the one detail that never changed during the planning process. Seeing the cafe lights with all of the candles, and the candlelight reflected off of the sequin table runners set the mood perfectly and just as beautiful as we had imagined and hoped it would be.

Our escort cards were old (mostly baby) pictures of all our guests. This was a surprise for everyone as we spent countless hours collecting pictures without anyone knowing. This was a labor of love but so worth the time and effort as our guests crowded around the tables smiling ear-to-ear. It was a traditionally simple task that we were able to have fun with.

The first look was my favorite part of the day. Seeing my soon to be husband for the first time was so emotional and surreal. I am so thankful to have done the first look. It helped to calm my nerves and gave us some personal time before the festivities began. I also was filled with joy when I took a moment to look around at the end of the night and found ourselves surrounded by all the people who came to celebrate this special day with us. The feeling of love was overwhelming.

Elegant Summer Wedding at The Addison

A South Florida historical estate, bright bridesmaids and a beaming Bride and Groom; that right there is the recipe for success and Starfish Studios captured it all. The Addison was the perfect backdrop for this summer celebration and you can see every sparkling moment, from start to finish, right here.

From the Bride… I had this overall vision of elegance, romance, glamour and fun for my wedding. I really wanted everyone to look back and remember how beautiful everything was and how the night made them feel. I really put my stamp on the wedding with a few seemingly small, but important details. I actually created the invitations myself using a template I purchased from Etsy and then had them printed at Office Depot. It saved some money and they turned out really nice. Next was our sweetheart table, which I wanted to use as a centerpiece to the room in a sense. I selected a sky blue linen to draw color into the mostly gray and white motif and then added a really soft silky overlay to make it sparkle. Third, I had strands of crystals hanging from the tall centerpieces to add some glamour to each table and lastly, I surprised my groom with a Spider-Man figurine hidden in our beautiful cake from Creative Cake Factory as a fun detail just for him.

There were many memorable moments from my wedding day, but I will always remember opening the gift my husband-to-be had delivered as I was getting ready with my bridal party. It was this perfect little Tiffany & Co. pearl bracelet. He had worked with my bridal party to make sure his gift would go with my wedding day attire. It was really sweet! Also, seeing my dad standing there, waiting for me to take his arm right before heading down the aisle is a moment I will never forget. When all is said and done, walking down that aisle, seeing the results of months of hard work in what was without a doubt a breathtakingly beautiful setting; heading towards the man of my dreams is a moment I wish I could relive every day of my life! After the ceremony it was all about fun! Spencer and I danced to “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith and then we dined on what was without the doubt the best food ever served at a wedding.

From Cindy at The Addison… Working with Mollie and Spencer was a great experience. The Addison is a unique venue and the best weddings result when a bride uses the natural décor to her best advantage. The simple ceremony décor Mollie chose, including our Addison garden chairs with just an understated arch of greenery with white floral accents, really ensured the incredible pair of 100 year old Banyan trees and large cascading fountain took center stage. Mollie and Spencer selected the Mizner, which is the more classic ballroom of our two reception spaces, enabling her to really use her imagination to transform the space with décor. In the end the light blues she chose along with pink and purple up-lighting created a soft romantic feel. I loved her gown and how she color coordinated her bridesmaid’s dresses and the groomsman’s suits perfectly for the reception decor. The couple selected a great menu, including butler passed hors d’oeurves such as our Braised Beef Short Rib & Orange Segment, served on a bamboo spoon and our Caramelized Watermelon with Candied Pecans, Sonoma Valley Goat Cheese & Micro Arugula and two entrée’s for her guest to choose from tableside, including our Mustard Glazed Atlantic Salmon served with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Broccolini with Fresh Garlic and Red Pepper Flakes. The couple shared a great sparkler exit and the guest’s could not have been more excited for the happy couple!

Vintage Chic Southern Wedding Inspiration

Inspired by Southern simplicity, Runway Events created a romantic photo shoot for The Hons to capture, filled with lovely lace details and vintage chic touches that can’t help but take you back to those days of yesteryear we hear so fondly of. See every inch of pretty in this gallery and don’t miss the film by Lasting Blueprint for a sneak peek of all the beauty that went down during the shoot itself.

From The HonsThis ‘Reverie in Lace’ 1940’s styled photo shoot showcased a refined Southern simplicity and we couldn’t be more excited to share it. A collaboration of vendors wanted to prove that simplicity can go a long way.

A Chair Affair rentals pushed down barriers to bring us a beautiful warm wood table and benches that we feel bring guests together and create a more intimate space. The rich wood helps break the minimal decorations on the walls and let’s the honest beauty of the venue shine through. Runway Events styled the shoot with beautiful peach roses, ivory cabbage roses, lush greenery and delicate babies breath. As a floral runner, the combination is a airy contrast to the warm wood table and blends beautifully with the antique floral China.

These refined choices offer a natural, austere ambiance without over doing it. Brides are always looking for gowns that can perfectly combine their ‘ever since I was a little girl’ dreams and the desires of the woman they have become. Modern Bridal accomplished all of that in this 1940’s inspired trumpet gown.

This backless Pronovia gown has intricate lace, delicate ruffled chiffon and gentle beading to add a touch of elegance. Paired with a fingertip scalloped veil to match the bead work, it completes this lush, romantic bride. Sometimes a dramatic makeup does just the trick, but the arcadian venue at The Acre called for a charming touch.

Shantell Tavarez, makeup, and Amanda Stone, hair, gave this homespun bride just enough Southern charm! A simple low bun with a side wisp of bangs adds femininity and won’t stress the bride out during the getting ready process. As you can see the warm blush to highlight a dramatic cheekbone and adds just enough drama to set the bride apart from the guests. Company Forty Two provided us with ethereal invitations that portrayed the rustic wood and delicacy of the South, without being too ostentatious.

Surely a wonderful prelude to the intimate nuptial guests are about to witness. To end the day, Soffelle Confections, added handcrafted sweetness in the form a of an nontraditional cake that reflected the bridal gown. Covered in ivory and cream fondant, the lace applications and string of pearls are perfect for this shoot.

We aimed to capture the elegance of the bride and the details. We used the natural light to hold on to the softness and warmth of Southern Charm that only a wedding day could hold.

A Piece of Toast’s Sallys Beach Engagement

You know her as one half of the A Piece of Toast duo and went Behind the Blog on SMP Living, but today Sally is stepping in the role of bride-to be with her stunning beach engagement session. Photographed by the crazy talented Leslee Mitchell, it’s love captured in the sweetest form with each soft, dreamy image somehow more beautiful than the last. Refill that coffee mug and prepare to swoon.

From Sally of A Piece Of Toast… I really cannot sing the praises of Leslee Mitchell enough. Her talent as a photographer, master at styling, and amazing person with a killer personality has made me all but obsessed with her. Back in June when my fiancé and I got engaged, one of the first things I did was research a photographer…

I have long admired and fawned over wedding photography – always drawn to the work of photographers who have a way of capturing those “in between” and candid moments that really give meaning to a wedding and a family, and really just life in general. When my fiance and I decided on a destination wedding, I first researched local photographers in the area, and then hit the endless archives of Style Me Pretty – a site that can literally draw me in for hours. What I love about Style Me Pretty is how you can search by just about anything to find a wedding or weddings that might match what you may be looking for. In my case, I used it to find weddings that were in the same area where mine will be. So glad I did this because I may never have come across all the Nashville-bred glory that is Leslee.

While she is not necessarily local to where we will be married (though she shoots in the area enough that she may as well be) she travels around the world to capture weddings. I fell in love with her beautiful work and knew I would do anything within my budget to make it so she could capture our day. Lucky for me, she was available!

Keep in mind that all of this happened 5 prior to this shoot. After booking Leslee for the big wedding day (spring 2015) my fiancé and I decided that since we were going to be in our wedding location in October, that we should see if Leslee was available to fly down and shoot some engagement pictures. I had been so busy with moving across the country and starting a new job that I really had not put much thought into these photos or many of the details until oh, days before. And I knew Leslee was good, because that’s why we hired her, but I really didn’t know just how good until meeting her and seeing her in action.

The girl’s got dedication (shooting digital and film), is a perfectionist (making sure her subjects and the surrounding elements are equally photo-ready), and has an eye for beauty and detail unlike any other. She can remember the details of any inspiring photo she has ever seen and truly knows what it takes to create a beautiful image and a lasting moment. She spend countless hours on her own scoping out the best spots to shoot so that my fiancé I could enjoy the process (along with a bottle of champagne she gave to us) and just be in the moment. One afternoon spent racing the clock set by the sunset and we ended with wayy more than we could have ever asked from her: gorgeous, personal, and special engagement photos.

It’s safe to say that meeting Leslee and getting to spend time with her has been kind of a game changer for me. She’s one of those magnetic and creative people that you just know you’ve met for a reason. The excitement of seeing the engagement photos made me that much more excited for the wedding and the thought of having Leslee there to capture our day and our moments makes me giddy. But really, I just want to hang with our new-found friend again over a cocktail or two.

Yacht Club

From the beautiful Bride… Like so many other relationships, ours began after years of friendship. Kevin and I met in high school but didn’t begin dating until after college. After getting engaged, we immediately knew that we didn’t just want to plan a wedding – we wanted to plan a party. We wanted our wedding day to not only celebrate us but to celebrate all of our friends and family who supported and loved us along the way.

Kevin and I decided that an outdoor ceremony and reception felt the most comfortable for us. Because we wanted to get married in Tampa – our hometown and where we currently live – a fall wedding was ideal. We quickly decided on a location that was able to host our entire wedding in one place – the Tampa Yacht & Country Club.

When it came to the décor, I knew exactly what I wanted – neutral linens, wood tones and lush greenery highlighted by candles and market lights with our guests seated at long feasting tables. The amazing team at MMD Events took my vision and made it a reality. The end result was gorgeous but not fussy – so fitting for our big day.

So many of our other vendors aided in making our wedding day the ultimate party. From our quartet playing modern hits to our incredible band who kept everyone on the dance floor with their classic rock covers – we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Traditionally Elegant Rosemary Beach Wedding

I love a classic wedding filled with love, and it is safe to say this beauty captured by Leslee Mitchell  has classical romance written all over it. It’s elegance at its best with the sweetest Rosemary Beach Town Hall ceremony and a reception complete with a few furry friends for good measure. Have a look at the full gallery for so much more!

From the beautiful Bride… Christopher and I first met in high school when we both signed up for the same summer course. We became friends, and later reconnected our freshman year at The University of Alabama. We often ran into each other around campus, and our friendship later blossomed into something more. We were soon inseparable, and began dating the second half of our sophomore year. After almost four years of dating, Christopher proposed in late June. He surprised me with an entire day spent doing all of my favorite things, and then took me for a sunset stroll in Seaside where he proposed on the beach. Afterwards, we celebrated with dinner at one of my all time favorite restaurants, Café Thirty-A.

Planning my wedding was something that I had looked forward to ever since I was a little girl. My parents even have my old photos from wedding magazines I used to save. I wanted my wedding to have a very timeless, romantic feel to it. I wanted to be able to look back through the pictures when it was all over and see something very elegant and classic. I envisioned soft, delicate champagnes and blushes, beautiful furniture and décor, and a sophisticated menu. It was also really important for me to add lots of personal details to make it my own.

When it came to choosing the location, we knew the beach would be the perfect setting. For both Christopher’s family and my own, the beach has always been a very special place. I remember right after we got engaged, my mother’s family was reminiscing over all of our wonderful memories at the beach, and I began thinking how memorable and special a wedding at the beach would be. We looked at several different venues, but after visiting Rosemary Beach, we knew we had found what we were looking for. Rosemary has such a beautiful, dreamy atmosphere, with gorgeous white houses and quaint cobblestone streets. Our ceremony took place in Rosemary’s Town Hall. It has such a beautiful, clean elegance to it with soft white walls, stone floors, and gorgeous wooden rafters with iron chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. It also has an adjoining courtyard that was the perfect spot for our reception!

From the beautiful Bride… When creating our wedding we imagined the day as romantic and relaxed. With the hustle and bustle of every day life, we wanted to create an intimate affair filled with our closest family and friends where the day just seemed to stop for a few hours. Mike and I rarely have time to just stop and celebrate our love, and that was most important to us when putting together our big day. We wanted this day to be a celebration of two old souls finally joining as one. With the help of our amazing planner, Miranda Hattie Events, and well over a year of planning we were able come up with a day beyond our wildest dreams. Throughout the celebration we used a palette of neutrals; white, ivory taupe and blush. We felt that these colors lent a timeless feel, while the imperfect floral arrangements and a variety of candles and tabletop accents added softness and warmth. The Mediterranean sensibility of Villa Woodbine was enhanced with soft, flickering light and a subtle variety of textures. We wanted the candlelight to reflect off the mercury and glass accent pieces to help set a romantic mood throughout the event. Rustic vintage touches, such as wooden farmhouse tables, vintage chairs, and antique cake stands helped add to the overall vibe we were going for.
