Spring Inspired Coastal Nuptials

Inspired by the cool colors of Florida — aka the gorgeous sunsets and lush ocean hues, this inspiration shoot oozes a calm every bride hopes for on their wedding day. Captured by Debra Eby Photography, everything about this romantic shoot deserves a first, second, and maybe even third look here!

From Debra Eby PhotographySpringtime on the coast is one of ethereal beauty. Sunlight and fog fade in and out over the folding waves. The contrast of bright spring florals against the light blues and whites of a coastline make for a tropical sort of magic. This is the vision of our team. Our palette is a Florida springtime celebrated on the white sands of Ponce Inlet.

Ranunculus and dahlias dance in raspberry and blush hues. Setting the ceremony stage is the archway. The perfect accent piece set to the white dunes of the coastline. Geometric spheres accent the aisle. Surrounding both pieces are gold brushed candle holders. The bridal bouquet is abundant with rich hues, delicately accented with pastel ribbons. Shauna creates magic with her floral collections.

The tablescape is one of simple romance. The floral centerpiece possesses a timeless elegance, wild and wandering on a farm table. We love the way tulle billows in the warm breezes. This is our simple textile covering a wooden farm table. Plateware with glass and gilded accents add a touch of sparkle in the sunlight.

Oh, that cake, it bursts with springtime blooms, meticulously paired to the blossoms of the bouquet. The gorgeous grey texture mimics the design of the bridal gown.

The Norvège Bridal Crown graces the head of our bride. Fabiola designed this while inspired by the beauty of the land of the midnight sun. This stunning bridal crown is entirely hand wired with over 200 floral glass beads. Marolsha’s custom earrings have lots of sparkle. They couple with the bridal crown for that ethereal springtime feeling.

The invitation suite is spring itself. Watercolor flowers, leaf patterns, and lovely lettering set the stage for these springtime nuptials. Escort cards are hand tied around vintage glass vases of florals. This doubles as a favor for arriving guests.

Flower girls play hand-in-hand on the sand in blush tulle gowns. Celebrating the wedding with custom floral wands and headpieces.

As the sun sets, our bride wears cathedral length floral veiling. Our headpiece designer, Fabiola, designed the veiling and attached Shauna’s beautiful white flowers.

Our models are not faking romance! They are a real engaged couple planning their own 2016 wedding. Their love is apparent as they cozy up on the shoreline. It is spring, after all, love is in full bloom.

This gorgeous couple’s destination wedding in Vero Beach was attended by friends who literally flew in from all over the world — and what a treat they got! With a rehearsal dinner that featured a choreographed fire dancer (!), and a ceremony at a private residence on John’s Island, this wedding weekend, captured on film by Brighter Lights Media, was one for the books!

From Brighter Lights Media“She’s a keeper of friends…” such a perfect way to describe not just Sarah, but John as well. Their network of friends is so strong that they flew from all parts of the world to be there for their wedding in Vero Beach, FL. The day before the wedding was a barbecue rehearsal dinner followed by a choreographed fire dancer. William Steele’s design for the weekend was nothing short of amazing and the ceremony on the private residence on John’s Island was timed up perfectly with an epic sunset as John and Sarah’s backdrop to their vows.

Romantic Italian Wedding Inspiration

If you could evoke the essence of Italy in a wedding, this would be it. The lace veil alone has me dreaming of a medieval stone church tucked away in some Tuscan town. With Lana Ponomarenko Photography on hand to capture it all, abundant florals and a rustic tablescape transformed this Florida courtyard into an Italian villa.

From Lana Ponomarenko PhotographyI always was in love with intimate Italian weddings. Together with wedding designer Inna Olimpiyuk Events we tried to bring a little Italy to Florida :)

We wanted it to be relaxed, very personal and full of love – a big family celebration of marriage and happiness in a magical atmosphere. We envisioned a laid-back evening at family villa.

Beautiful flower arrangements were made of white sweet pea, honeysuckles, snowberries, and burgundy roses with olive branches wrapped with hand–dyed silk ribbons.

Elegant Fisher Island Wedding

If I had to pick one wedding style that sums up the extent of my love for pretty soirees, elegance would hands down be it. Touches of white, lace, candlelight, gilded detailing, classic invites… timeless bits that captivate for years to come. This sunny Florida fete from Kat Braman radiates that style that I love so, with a bit of fun woven in—the photo booth from Capture Pod, a cigar roller and mini Bailey’s milkshakes. See it all here and make sure to click play on Voila Cinematic‘s film below!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/126434178 600 338]

From the Bride… Michael and I met and fell in love in New York City while we were both in school. My family lives in the greater Boston area and his family lives in South Florida. To make choosing a location even more difficult, Michael and I live between them in Louisville, Kentucky. Although our family was spread throughout the US, it was easy to choose Florida… sunny weather, gorgeous waters, warm beaches, fulfilling our dream to have an entirely outdoor wedding under the stars.

We chose Fisher Island Club, a private island accessible only by ferry. The Vanderbilt Mansion has a unique history, along with the most incredible banyan tree, which was exactly the organic, natural vibe I wanted for our ceremony. When I saw that tree, I knew immediately that was where we had to have our ceremony.

Having so many people travel to our destination was an indescribable feeling. We wanted a wedding reception that would feel warm, welcoming and full of love, with something for everyone that night: a Cuban cigar roller, open-air photo booth, lots of dessert tapas, and great dancing music. It was amazing to see family and friends from different times of our lives sharing cigars and mini-Baileys milkshakes. We added personal touches, such as my grandmother’s pin attached to my bouquet stem, groomsmen wearing matching socks, and a vintage love seat that made my heart skip a beat when I first saw it. Guests lit long-lasting sparklers to illuminate the floor for our first dance to Ben Howard’s “Only Love.”

Our florist and planner, Guerdy Abraira, brought my vision to life – the incredible twinkle lights to bring the sky down to create intimacy, the romantic flowers and garlands, and the entire vibe of the day and night. Our photographer, Kat Braman and videographer, Voila Cinematic, captured moments and emotions between us that we didn’t even know existed. Rock with U’s string quartet for ceremony, jazz trio for cocktail hour, and DJ/Band fusion assembled all my favorite music that flowed perfectly with my party friends and our older crowd alike.

Planning a destination wedding can sometimes feel like putting unmatched puzzle pieces together, wondering how it will all flow, but when it all comes together that night, it’s magic. Being surrounded by family and friends dancing under the twinkle lights and stars, marrying my best friend, it was the most beautiful night of our lives.

Florida Orange Grove Engagement Session

Get ready for a splash of happy across your screen, loves. This adorable (read: cutest ever) engagement session from Everlasting Love Photography is dotted with sunny oranges, smiles, some juggling and of course, the pretty bling that started it all. See even more right here!

From Everlasting Love PhotographyI am so excited to share this warm and sunny engagement session with you all! For this session, I shot a mixture of both digital and film images. Shooting with film gave forced me to take my time, giving Michael and Liz the opportunity to savor the moments of their engagement session. I hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their session!

From The Bride…Michael and I were excited to have a destination engagement session in the Sunshine State. While Florida is home for now, we met at Iowa State University. Brought together by common interests, we soon became good friends in Ames, Iowa. After being “just friends” for four years, we finally decided to give dating a shot. We slowly realized that this was the real thing, and we wanted to commit our lives to one another. Not only did we have common interests, we had a similar vision for our life together. Our passion to impact the world brought us to Orlando, Florida this year to work for a non-profit organization. We feel honored that Everlasting Love Photography came down to Florida from Iowa to capture our story through photography. We’re possibly headed back to the Midwest soon, but no matter what, we will always have something to remember the year of our engagement by.

Rustic Chic Tampa Spring Wedding

One of the best parts of my job is reading stories from brides; I’m always eager to learn the reasons behind various wedding decisions. So with this couple, in learning they choose their venues for deeply personal reasons, made me fall even more in love with their whole celebration. Jacqui Cole’s pics, Salon Inga’s gorgeous work and one romantic gown were the icing on the cake. See it all right here!

From Jacqui Cole Photography… McKay and Kenny’s Tampa Yacht Club wedding is just so beautiful and I’m thrilled to share this one with you1 Luckily for us, this January 3rd wedding could have been any time of the year in sunny Florida!

McKay’s details were both whimsical and rustic while still maintaining the classic elegance of a traditional wedding. Her bridal party looked fun and girly in their mismatched Ann Taylor dresses and gorgeous bouquets. McKay’s jaw-dropping, low-cut back dress from Malindy Elene couldn’t have been any more perfect for her! With absolutely stunning florals from the internationally acclaimed Botanica Design Studio and a dance floor overlooking the Tampa Bay, their reception was just heavenly. The specialized coffee cart and separate dessert room was of course an added bonus! Unique little touches throughout the entire day really made this wedding one to remember. Thank you McKay and Kenny for allowing me to capture these beautiful memories for you!

From The Bride… Kenny and I met when we both interned over the summer at the same church. It was technically not allowed for interns to date each other, but about two weeks into the summer, Kenny consulted our boss about breaking that rule, received permission, and that’s when it all began! After we had dated a year and a half, I went to spend Christmas with Kenny and his family in Washington. The Saturday before Christmas, he popped the question at his parents home by the Christmas tree. It was such a sweet proposal and moment shared between the two of us. Afterwards, we celebrated with his family and then continued with a fancy date for just the two of us at a local restaurant. When we returned from dinner, we walked up to his parents home and inside, I was surprised with a swanky engagement party filled with his family and friends! Overwhelmed and excited, I turned into the next room to take off my coat and found my parents, who Kenny had flown from Florida to join us, waiting to excitedly congratulate us! It was a perfect day and one that I will always cherish.

We chose Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church where we interned that summer, and where Kenny now works full time, as the location for our ceremony. Not only was the location special to us, but our boss from that summer, and dear friend, David performed the ceremony. It was so sweet and personal to be married by someone who knows us both so well!

For the reception, we chose the Tampa Yacht and Country Club where both my parents and maternal grandparents held their wedding receptions. When we considered how special it was, in addition to the great food and ample dance floor, we knew it was the place for us!

My priorities for the rest of the planning were to find a great photographer and a dress I loved. Jacqui was recommended by our florist and I knew as soon as I saw her beautiful website that our styles would mesh effortlessly. She was an absolute JOY to work with, for both our engagement session and wedding day. Next came the dress, which the wonderful staff at Melindy Elene Bridal in Tampa helped me to find at my first appointment. It was a dream and so exciting to have those two important aspects of the day planned!

It is so difficult narrowing down one favorite moment of the day! I loved my first look with my bridesmaids and with Kenny and will cherish those joyful moments forever. But my favorite moments of the whole day were probably spent on the dance floor at the reception when Kenny and I were both free to celebrate such a wonderful day and dance with our closest friends who had come from all over the country. It was such a happy time!

My advice for those couples in the wedding planning process is, despite how wonderful and exciting it is to plan for this one special wedding day, to devote time to preparing yourself for the actual marriage you are entering into. Take a break from all of the decisions, and have a date night. Maybe read a book together about the purpose of marriage or have an older couple share their wisdom about marriage with you. Those conversations are important and will bless you. Marriage is beautiful and tough and I believe is worth taking the time to prepare for in addition to the wedding day!

Romantic + Rustic Boca Raton Wedding

Speaking as a weekday Bride-to-be, I’m absolutely smitten with this Monday affair at The Addison. Straight from the lens of Starfish Studios, it’s romance meets traditional and every bit of it is beautiful. Overflowing with soft pastels and gorgeous garden roses, it’s a gallery that you shouldn’t be missed!

From the beautiful Bride… Harrison and I met during our second year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He saw me at the gym, found out we had some mutual friends and then arranged for my friends and I to come hangout with him and some of his roommates one night. After that, we started hanging out regularly and ended up dating on and off for three years. Harrison asked me to marry him in February of 2014, and we quickly decided that we wanted to get married within the same year. We both wanted to say “I Do” outside so we chose November in hopes of a perfect cool day in South Florida.

The Addison was the first and last venue we looked at! Right away we loved the atmosphere and energy of the Addison and knew it was where we would get married. It has so much character with all the beautiful archways, unique doors, warm colors and distinct architecture.

It was important for us to have the wedding reflect both of us and our personalities. I wanted a romantic, elegant feel with personal details that reflected both of us. I knew I wanted my bridesmaids in blush so I incorporated different shades of blush, metallics, and soft pastels into all the details and flowers.

My mom and I took a trip down the street from the Addison to try on gowns at Boca Raton Bridal and I ended up selected the third dress I tried on, although I did go to other bridal shops and tried on loads of gowns after finding “the one” just to be sure! It was an Eve of Milady ball gown with an all lace bodice and full tulle layered skirt. For my bridesmaids I chose long chiffon Amsale dresses in blush and let my girls choose whatever style top they liked best.

For the reception I collected mercury glass vases of different sizes and heights for months and used a small grouping of them on the tables for the centerpieces. That way each table was different, which was the look I was going for. Our florist, Lynne at Creative Florals, did a great job using an array of blush and neutral toned flowers with different greens which turned out beautifully. I originally planned on doing my own flowers, but am very glad I decided not to as some things should just be left to the professionals! However, I did enjoy doing other little details with my sisters. For the seating chart, we tied skeleton keys to pretty embossed tags with the guests name and table number on them. The wedding favors were small glass maple leaf containers with real maple syrup in them from Harrison’s family store in Vermont. In front of each place setting we had a thank you card printed for our family and friends who came from all over the U.S. to be with us, which we were extremely grateful for.

I loved every part of our wedding, but there are a few moments that really stood out to me when I reflect back on that day. The first was hearing Harrison say his vows to me at the altar- it was so special and meant so much to me. Another was during the ceremony when we all sang a hymn under the huge Banyan trees. It was a magical moment! Looking around and seeing all of your closest friends and family at the end of the ceremony and at the reception is another amazing feeling. Future brides- when you are at your reception sitting next to your new husband take at least a minute to just look around the room and take in everyone you love and how amazing it is that they are all there to support you. Also, if you get married at the Addison make sure to take the time to enjoy the food as it is absolutely incredible! The day went by so fast, but we both consider it the best day of our lives!

Southern-Inspired Coastal Florida Wedding

From Best PhotographySouthern inspiration paired with a gorgeous couple and whimsical details is nothing short of a perfect combination. Christine and Nils are some of the sweetest, selfless people you will ever meet. Not to mention, ridiculously photogenic. These two are practically supermodels. They poured their time and hearts into their wedding, and that fact is easy to see. With so many romantic details, and the gorgeous West Florida sunlight to set the tone, we are swooning… Between all of the incredible vendors and people that came together to make this elegant affair happen, we couldn’t have imagined anything more beautiful! It was perfect…

From the Bride… Nils and I were both terribly shy teenagers when a mutual friend in high school introduced us. We were too nervous to speak in person so we spent hours chatting on instant messenger (embarrassing screen names and all). It didn’t take long before we became best friends and high school sweethearts. By the time graduation came around, we had our hearts set on two different out-of-state universities. Nils and I went our separate ways, learned, loved and started making our own lives; he calls these the “lost years.” It wasn’t until three years later that I opened my inbox to find a surprising message from the same boy I fell so hard for in halls of our high school.

Nils proposed by recreating our first real date in high school, the first one where Nils got a truck and our parents didn’t have to drive. He recreated a picnic near a local Tampa bridge and even remembered the brand of sweet tea that we had so many years ago! We moved to Gainesville, FL where Nils began graduate school and dove right into wedding planning. We knew we wanted to get married in our hometown Tampa and I always dreamed of getting married in October, just like my parents and my grandparents. Our wedding took place on the same day my grandparents were married 70 years before.

Nils and I may be natives of the sunshine state but that doesn’t stop us from loving the south. Our collegiate tie to Georgia and Alabama keeps southern hospitality running through our veins and there was no doubt that we wanted to bring this same comfort to our wedding. With the help of our coordinator Kyela Faett and Anna Lucia Events, our vision for a beautiful southern affair came true.

We started with simply beautiful letterpress from A&P Designs complete with a monogram and cute map of Tampa Bay. The map included the Gasparilla pirate ship, locations of some of our favorite spots and even our two pups! We had a copy of the map blown up and have it hanging in our home.

I spent hours on blogs and Pinterest but had a hard time coming up with a distinct theme. Nils and I knew we adored the huge oaks trees at our venue so we kept the greenery flowing throughout our ceremony and into the crisp white tent for our reception. Botanica International Designs created the most beautiful garland and mint julep centerpieces. For décor I drew inspiration from table numbers we found at Rifle Paper Company and had a marvelous time mixing wreath and ribbon images to create our DIY paper products like the menus, program, escort and place cards. When it came to picking a color for my bridesmaids, I couldn’t get the Dusty Shale color from J.Crew out of my mind. I knew it would be a perfect compliment to the oak trees and even my strawberry blonde bridesmaids. Our happy day wouldn’t have been complete without the amazing music of Deleon Entertainment and their rendition of Come Thou Fount that will always remind me of walking down the aisle with my daddy.

Our favorite detail of our wedding was the DIY personalized escorts cards that welcomed every guest individually. This was such a small detail but made every one of our guests feel special and loved. Unique details like these were the reason we decided to have a wedding with fewer than one hundred guests. The wedding may have been a celebration for Nils and I, but we would be nowhere without the love and support of our loved ones and we made sure all of our wedding guests knew how special they were to us. We even managed to squeeze in a few rivalry college football digs on the escort cards that made everyone laugh.

We couldn’t resist adding foods like mini ham biscuits and shrimp and grits to our cocktail menu and completed the night eating sweet peach cobbler on wooden rocking chairs. Our cakes were made by the amazing husband and wife team at Hands on Sweets and were the perfect focal point for our tent reception. How did we end up with three cakes? It was completely impossible to choose just one flavor and design! We could not have been happier with our pink champagne with eucalyptus garland and that beautiful sugar magnolia.

Tropical + Refined Fort Lauderdale Wedding

Reason #989 why I love my job? Weddings like this one. A soft palette of neutrals paired with exotic blooms set the tone for this traditional beauty. Set amongst the lush tropical forest, this darling pair exchanged vows underneath towering palm trees and a delicate breeze, while Perry Vaile shot every moment to share.

From Perry VaileThis gorgeous wedding is set among a lush tropical forest preserved in the middle of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The bride chose a soft palette of champagne and rose tones with floral pairings of exotic blooms and traditional beauties. The ceremony was held beneath towering palm trees and in front of a stunning stone wall, and the reception was open-air with a view of the large pond. The bride, Yoko requested that her bridesmaids choose their own dress within her palette of colors, and for her own outfit chose Cole Haan shoes and a beautiful, low-back gown. To keep guests cool during the ceremony, they couple provided delicious lemonade, and mother nature delivered a delicate breeze.

Chic Miami Wedding at The Raleigh

What happens when you blend classic romance with modern touches? One word: perfection. Take a look at the gallery from Julie Cate Photography and you’ll see exactly what we mean. Set amidst twinkling cafe lights and swaying palm trees, this darling duo wed in one timeless ceremony fit for the ages. It’s a gallery not to be missed and it’s waiting for you over here!

From The Bride…Andrew and I had been dating for close to 7 years, and before that, we were great friends for 5 years. I probably knew he was “the one” even before we began dating (although I usually don’t admit that). After he proposed in November at the duck pond in front of Gapstow Bridge in Central Park in NYC, where we live, and began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted the day to feel super romantic with a touch of modernity, so we chose blush and navy for our colors. Most importantly, we wanted to treat friends and family to a really awesome and fun party.

We chose a winter wedding in Miami, where I’m from. Once we had nailed down the city, we knew we had to take advantage of the climate and beaches and have an outdoor wedding.

The ceremony was held at Plymouth Congregational Church, an old historic church built in the early 1900s modeled after Spanish missions in Mexico, which really played in to the romantic vibe. It’s also extra special because I got baptized there and my aunt had her wedding ceremony at the church 30-something years prior. An added fun touch: we got to privately ring the tower church bells minutes after saying “I Do.”

For the reception, we chose The Raleigh Hotel, an art deco hotel on South Beach. The space was so “us” – chic yet laidback. To play off of the art deco decor, we added ’20s inspired elements which was carried throughout the invite suite, welcome bags and signage. Since we’re also both a bit silly, we balanced out romantic F. Scott Fitzgerald quotes displayed with personalized napkins and matches with fun sayings like “Light My Fire” and “Burn Baby Burn.” Set amidst twinkling cafe lights and swaying palm trees, guests were greeted with welcome cocktails (a Blushing Bride or an Old Fashioned Groom), classic Cuban cigars hand-rolled on site and bossa nova music played by a guitarist. For our guest book, we had friends and family take a Polaroid of themselves and then glue it into the book with well wishes, which everyone had a lot of fun with. Our main obsession is our dog, Theo, so we wanted to make sure we incorporated him in to the day. While we couldn’t have him be the ring bearer because we got married in a church, we made sure to do portraits with him right after our first look and also treated guests to Theo-replica cookies. Throughout the night, when guests weren’t dining on contemporary, seasonal fare by James Beard Award-Winning Chef Michael Schwartz or noshing on dulce de leche, raspberry or red velvet cake from the amazing Earth & Sugar, they were on the dance floor doing flips and getting crazy to a DJ accompanied by a saxophonist and drummer.

Before heading in to the after party, Andrew and I made our way through a tunnel of sparklers while our guests surprise-serenaded us with a rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner. The weather was perfection – 70s and sunny – and a clear indicator of how perfect the day was. We had the most magical day with family and friends that we love and an amazing team of vendors! We couldn’t be more thankful of how wonderful the day was!

Bohemian + Rustic Garden Wedding in Florida

As I begin to finalize my own wedding, I’ll definitely be using this Bride’s sage advice as reference. Staying true to their relationship and vision, this darling duo planned a spectacular affair close to their hearts. An artistic day overflowing with bohemian glamour and rustic touches straight from the lens of Brooke Images, their garden affair is certainly one to share.

From the beautiful Bride… From the get-go we never wanted to lose sight of what our wedding was all about: us as a couple, our love and the life long journey we are sharing together. While I coordinated with most of the vendors, Alain and I worked together to really make our dream a reality. He gave me his input on a lot of things and we did some soul searching to really understand what we wanted our day to be. As Alain calls it “Rustic Bohemian Magic” shared with our closest family and friends. Deciding on a “destination wedding” to St Augustine (being on the other coast of FL) solidified the vibe we were going for…. a magical bohemian feel in a charming little city. From there everything fell into place. Our vendors were nothing short of amazing, and often work together so I knew we were in good hands. Most of our vendors have even become friends, making our day that much more special.

We incorporated sweet little sayings and inside jokes into our vows, made signs that were placed around the reception that had meaning to us, Alain created our hilarious hashtag, #aboutJAMtime, referencing the fact that we have been dating for 8 years, we had artsy, bohemian pieces and lush greenery that just screamed j+a, and a cake table that was literally the “icing on the cake” to our special day.

Being an offbeat, laid-back couple, we wanted to do something different for the unity part of the ceremony so being lovers of graffiti, we painted a canvas. We outlined a heart with tape and blended our wedding colors together, symbolizing the start of a new journey together. Our friend who married us explained it perfectly during the ceremony: As two people join together in marriage, their souls become one. Much like when blending colors together, they are unable to be separated, bound for life. We peeled off the tape and now this work of art sits in our living room as a beautiful reminder of our magical day.

Tying in the artsy side of us, we did a lot of DIY projects and had friends design our save the dates and invitations. I even created our own wedding website using Sqaurespace. Since I work on creating websites for a living, it just made sense to have our site stand out. We wanted every part to be uniquely us. The DIY was a lot of fun because we both enjoyed working on projects together. Alain jokes that I took over his hobby of spray painting because I would be spray painting things almost every weekend for the last couple of months up until the wedding. But it was a fun memory and something we enjoyed doing together while planning our special day.

The whole day was like a magical dream… high on the love that surrounded us, we had to step back and just live in the moment while taking it all in. The day just radiated love. It was such an intense feeling of happiness and joy and everyone who attended could feel it and shared it. We we’re both blown away at how everything came together. It was more than we could have ever imagined thanks to the amazing people we worked with. There are so many moments that rush into my head when I think of sweet memories of our day…. I loved taking the bride + groom photos together, because it was our time together, exploring the streets of St Augustine with my love before the most important walk of our lives. Some of my other favorite moments included my first look with my dad, as I’m a total daddy’s girl. We both cried our eyes out with happy tears. The special moments with family and friends, especially when we did our bridal party photos… we had some big laughs doing those! Another moment and maybe the most special, was our first kiss as husband and wife, we sweetly kissed and the chorus of “Best Day Of My Life” started playing. The emotions were in full swing and I was just the happiest little girl in the world. The whole day, I just feel like we were just beaming with happiness.

The details is what makes it YOUR wedding, not A wedding and that’s what we wanted to focus on. We knew we wanted to look back on the day and say that was OUR wedding, with OUR friends and family. The moments captured by Brooke Images were amazing and I can still feel the emotions when I look at the photos.

From Sawyer Baird… Delaine & Michael are some of the sweetest humans I have ever met! When we were discussing locations for an engagement session many places came up… some being Savannah, Jacksonville, etc. Finally we decided that we would love to go somewhere that neither of us have been before – Miami. Delaine & Michael live in Tampa so the short drive was nothing for them & the quick plane ride for me was easy too.

When scouting out Miami I had known about Vizcaya for some time. It was on the back of my mind from the very beginning. I knew that it would just be something special. After talking to Delaine and showing her the images of Vizcaya we knew that it was the perfect fit for them. We were also excited to know that it would be something different than what is common for most engagements. They trusted me 110% on this one – and I am so so happy that they did.

Later we continued the engagement session to a nearby beach with some of the city in the background. We grabbed coconuts (well my other half 6’6′ man did!) and had a little picnic on the ocean complete with a beautiful sunset!

It really was the perfect day…

Dreamy Amelia Island Yacht Club Wedding

When you think of a beach wedding, you typically picture the bride in a light, breezy chiffon dress—simple, but elegant. Luckily for us (and for our wedding boards on Pinterest!), this beautiful Bride wanted more. Beautiful lace, romantic draping and delicate beading is only the beginning of what makes this gown such a stunner. The real magic is the detachable train cascading ruffles, giving the lovely Bride two dresses in one. Take a look through the gallery to see the gown in all it’s beautiful glory, and all the details that make this wedding so dreamy.

From The Bride…I am originally from the Northeast and recently my husband and I relocated to his home state of sunny Florida 9 months before our wedding. Since he had proposed on the beach near our new home and we knew we would stay in Florida for years to come we chose to host a destination wedding with our closest family and friends. We had a weekend long celebration, a cozy dinner with the wedding party the Thursday prior, a welcome cocktail event for all guests in downtown Fernandina Beach the night before the wedding and then the big day at a private yacht club overlooking the Intercoastal. We kept our guest list small, only 79 people attended our laid back absolutely beautiful day.We wrote our own vows in which we read to each other causing ourselves and our guests to both laugh and cry. I made a ton of decor on my own via Pinterest spending many nights and weekend at local craft stores and antique shows. and worked closely with a graphic designer friend on the invitations, signage and handmade headpiece. We wanted our guests to feel at home so we chose a causal location, added table numbers that were highlights of the year of our lives, each capturing a different photo from our life, we strung photos of our family over the years above the bar and incorporated our parents wedding photos throughout the venue. Almost everything you saw was made by myself, my now husband, our florist or our designer friend, which meant a lot to us. We rented large school buses to transport everyone from the Omni hotel throughout all of the weekend events so no one had to worry about driving or getting lost. We chose an amazing band, Last2Leave that got everyone on the dance floor before dinner was even over for the entire night! Our family took off their shoes and put their feet in the pool, while our uncles lit up cigars and relaxed. We couldn’t of asked for a more perfect day.

Red + French Blue Al Fresco Estate Wedding

For this couple who loves the outdoors, bringing a sense of natural elegance to their big day was an absolute must. Think sprawling blooms by Victoria Blooms Florals, perfectly crafted paper goods from A+P Designs, and al fresco dining in what felt like the coziest backyard setting. Justin DeMutiis is responsible for every stunning image, and Voila Cinematic captured the must-watch film.

From the Groom… Leslie and I spend the majority of our time together outdoors. Whether we are enjoying the water or dining on our back porch under the café string lights, we just feel the best when we’re among nature. This was our main focus when choosing the perfect wedding venue. The day Leslie and I stumbled upon the Powel Crosley Estate we knew we didn’t need to look any further. The Crosley Mansion was the perfect blank canvas to create the“make yourself at home” feeling we wanted our guests to experience during our wedding.

We wanted a place where we could combine the simplicity of dining on our back porch under the stars with the sophisticated elegance of an exquisite affair. These two worlds joined as we became inspired by European lifestyle, Tuscan Al Fresco dining, naturally whimsical foliage, and the perfect amount of French blue hues. Together with my mom’s natural talent for decorating spaces, our visions of restored French furnishings, woven linen juxtaposed against natural wood, shades of rich berry florals, and a top-notch execution team, the wedding of my dreams unfolded before my eyes. Having all of our closest family and friends to enjoy it with was just the icing on the three-tiered wedding cake!

Glamorous Geometric South Beach Wedding

This is one of those stop and stare moments; this dress is that good. But it’s only the beginning of an epically gorgeous South Beach bash, captured in all it’s geometric glory by Becca Borge and Floral + Fauna. Guests were treated to a glamorous celebration by Miranda Hattie Events with photo booth fun thanks to Capture Pod. Put it all together and this is the sort of stylish soiree that we can’t get enough of.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/123185681 600 338]

From Becca BorgeBlacks, golds, metallics, and textures framed Arleyne and Mike’s modern South Beach wedding. The bride wore blush, the groom wore vera wang, the bridesmaids wore mismatched sparkly dresses. Their ceremony backdrop as well as reception accents were geometric shapes paired with soft and romantic textures and florals. Everything tied together through the black & gold motif throughout.

Arleyne is an extremely organized and detail-oriented person, and wanted to incorporate some personal and fun elements as well. She had a license plate evening clutch (Mike owns a tag agency), her shoes had geometric gold studs, had a wine box ceremony to open on their first anniversary, had a photobooth for guests, the guests lit sparklers at their first kiss so they recessed down the beautiful sparkler-lit aisle, and in lieu of a guestbook the couple had a unique piece of art painted for them (and guests signed the border).

They wanted their event to be a fun and contemporary expression of themselves, without lacking the romantic feel a wedding should have. Along with Mirando (Miranda Hattie Events)…this celebration was perfectly fitting for South Beach and this beautiful couple!

From the Bride… My planner, Miranda Estes, helped guide me through the my initial ideas and helped me hone into the final decisions, but my definite inspiration was paint splatter, metallics, copper, concrete, contemporary art in general, and NOT being like every other wedding we see here in Miami. I work in the Wynwood design district and the crazier the art, the more mentally stimulating it is to me. I wanted the sparkle, I wanted the romance (of course), but I wanted surprises and to really give the florist free range to create art and use a variety of textures and mediums. I didn’t want a lot of flowers at all. I wanted the containers to be odd and unexpected.

As far as the bridal party attire, sparkle/sequin was key but I wanted each girl to feel glamorous. I got sooooo much criticism about the wardrobe! On the wedding day, when they were all together, each of them voiced how “wowed” they were with the final result and cohesiveness. Again, I fully trusted Miranda’s judgment and experience, she assured me it would work and I eliminated all doubt.

I wanted the day to be an expression of who we are, regardless of what everyone else thought or what is traditionally preferred in Miami weddings we have seen. The W venue was the perfect backdrop for our taste. We have been huge fans of the W and their adjacent restaurant, Mr. Chow, and we knew that it was just plain “us”.”

My favorite moments were the sparkler send-off as we completed the ceremony, and seeing gentlemen in tuxedos and ladies in long glam gowns getting down and dirty of the dance floor! When we said it was “black tie” everyone thought it would be stuffy, and on the contrary, it was such a FUN party!

Elegant + Romantic Wedding at the Bonnet House

Having met while hiking, this perfect pair wanted to honor the natural elements that brought them together on their Big Day. With a gorgeous historic home enveloped by lush gardens and lagoons, their venue provided the perfect organic backdrop for them to say “I do”. Adding in splash of elegance they created one charming garden atmosphere and Shea Christine Photography captured it all, more here!

From the beautiful Bride…Sebastian and I met while hiking surrounded by water, earth and wind, and we decided that we wanted to keep those elements close to heart while planning our wedding day. We chose The Bonnet House as our venue, a gorgeous historic Ft. Lauderdale home enveloped by lush gardens and lagoons, which provided the perfect organic backdrop from which to work off of. The aim was to add a splash of elegance to all of the beautiful natural surroundings and to create a charming garden party atmosphere.
