We heart today’s wedding so much, we’re putting up more posts than we ever have on any featured wedding. It’s just such a refreshing style with a light, airy blue and bright orange color palette, a bride that is simply stunning and an effortless elegance that just makes me happy. Plus, the whole wedding was pulled off for $10,000 making it even sweeter.

From the lovely bride, Jennifer…
I prepped most things Stateside. Being on a tight budget, I tried to make as much as I could and bought most of the materials for favors and welcome baskets here and lugged everything through customs with fingers crossed. (One friend joked, “it looks like you’re taking bomb-making material overseas – good luck with that.”) Truth be told, I did have to hit up the Barcelona IKEA and the bodega across the street from our lodgings for a few things that wouldn’t travel well (many bottles of wine, baskets, glasses, candles, etc).
Much credit actually goes to my mom who did all the flowers including my bouquet. That’s part of how we saved a bundle (a total of 200 euros at the flower market). The morning of the wedding was crazy…trying to pick out flowers and ask lots of questions in quasi-Spanish which none of us speak (“Donde?”). But, in the end, it’s really one of the main reasons we were able to stay on our budget.

Okay, if you aren’t sitting down…you probably should. I know, painfully dramatic, but this time, a dramatic introduction is totally warranted. We are finally on to Jennifer and Christian reception…an elegant, refined but completely playful style that encompasses the easy going, intimate vibe that Jennifer wanted.

Ummm, hello. Do you see what I mean? This reception is the definition of fabulous, the reason why I love what I do. Everything is perfect…from the tailored, preppy linens to the bright, but totally elegant centerpieces. The little bottles are filled with Spanish paprika for guests to take home, doubling as a placecard holder. And, the little blue boxes are filled with personalized letterpress stationery for each guest.
Again, there are no words. This is my dream wedding realized…and on a $10,000 budget to boot!

Love, love, love today’s real wedding. Before we dive into the absolutely gorgeous reception (seriously, people…there are no words), thought I would share a few really fun pictures of the fabulous bride and groom…
I am not sure who I love more…the adorable bride or the photographer, Yvonne Wong, that captured such beautiful, but totally whimsical photographs. I’d say both are keepers!

If you are just joining us, Jennifer and Christian were married in Barcelona this past September at a gorgeous estate with close family and friends. Their ceremony was incredibly intimate, with guests closely surrounding them, very much a part of the ceremony…

From Jennifer…
We scoped and planned everything via internet, relying on photographs and email communication. I even found my quasi-wedding coordinator on Barcelona’s Craigslist. We also reserved an entire apartment rental building so that all our guests could stay together. We even started a blog to help guests plan their trip. It was a completely virtual affair!
One other quick tidbit…I also wanted to mention (brag, really) that my wedding dress was an Alberta Ferretti that I found at Filene’s Basement closing sale for under $100.
So much more to come!

I am so madly in love with today’s wedding…mostly because the bride is so ridiculously lovely, the details are flawless and the venue is ridiculously gorgeous. But, also because the bride and groom stuck to their $10,000 budget, something that is really hard to do these days.

From Jennifer, the bride…
We decided on a destination wedding for many reasons including (a) we love Spain (b) wanted an excuse to go on a vacation with our closest friends and family (c) it was more affordable than having one here! We wanted an outdoor wedding taking place in the fall – so that meant somewhere reasonably warm. We thought Barcelona was the perfect backdrop – wonderful weather, great food, lovely ambiance, and a festive atmosphere. As anticipated, planning a wedding abroad was an interesting and, at times, trying process but it paid off big in the end.

A few more gorgeous “before” pictures of Jennifer and Christian’s $10,000 Barcelona affair…

You are going to die when you see just how beautiful this wedding turned out. The bride is a stationery designer so she has that great eye for style that a perfect wedding often requires. Lots more coming up in a few!

Obsessed. And that is putting it rather lightly. Today’s wedding is so fabulous, I am 100% sure that you are going to bookmark it in your must-have folders, pulling it out every time you need a little wedding pick-me-up. I had such a hard time narrowing down the photographs (which are amazing by the way), finding just the right shots to tell the story of the day…so forgive me if I am a little long picture winded today!
Jennifer and Christian were married this past September in the gorgeous city of Barcelona, Spain. Their utterly beautiful wedding was pulled off for a mere…wait for it…$10,000. Yep, it’s true. It’s one of the loveliest weddings I have ever seen, and it was designed on a budget that makes me jump for joy.
Before we dive into all of the details, I wanted to share with you the stunning “preparation” pictures that the amazingly talented Yvonne Wong shot…
SIGH…it’s just so, so beautiful. Stay tuned to hear from Jennifer and see how the rest of the day unfolded! We have TONS of inspiration on the way.
