Simplicity is the name of the game for this Slovakia wedding, and thanks to the beautiful images by Peter & Veronika Photography I’m officially convinced that less is more. Set by the river with a breathtaking first look, this day is filled with dreamy moments and postcard-worthy views. See each and every capture sitting pretty in The Vault.
From The Bride…Soon after beginning our wedding preparations, it became clear that we wanted a summer wedding – an outdoor one ideally. The perfect venue was quickly found: s restaurant on the banks of the River Danube with a lovely garden and a breathtaking view of our hometown. The building itself was built back in 1827 and offers a unique combination of elegance and nostalgic flair.
As with every outdoor wedding, the weather was our biggest concern. Fortunately, it turned out even better than expected and we were able to enjoy a warm summer night with our guests, surrounded by the lights of Bratislava’s old city center.
As the venue and its view were already unique, we felt it did not need much decoration. To match the venue’s character we decided to keep it simple and elegant by using flowers in soft pastel tones with golden details.
To give the wedding a bit of a personal touch, and because I have always enjoyed DIY projects, I decided to make certain items myself. The wedding favors, the ring plate and also the menu were all my creations. A great source of inspiration for these was Pinterest and of course the many gorgeous weddings published on Style Me Pretty.
For my dress, I decided to go with the Slovak designer Zlatica Hujbertova. I wanted something simple and airy, something I would feel comfortable wearing throughout the day but also dancing in all night.
My advice for future brides would be this: Don’t panic if things don’t go as perfect as planned. Just roll with it and focus on the important: Having fun on this special day with your loved one and friends & family.
