Intimate Destination Wedding in Paris

We’ve seen our fair share of weddings set in the City of Lights, but this destination affair photographed by Clary Pfeiffer is going down as my absolute favorite. A mix of old world romance and modern luxury, it’s a day you’d probably never guess was primarily planned by the couple and their vendors via email – with a little help from Google translator along the way! Get your swoon on in the gallery right here.

From The Bride… If one were to ask about the idea of a destination wedding in Paris – elopement or intimate wedding – my advice would be: DO IT! It was the best decision that I could have made. The beautiful, old world architecture was perfect for wedding photographs, the most Michelin star chefs per square capita in the world was perfect for a gourmet wedding meal, and the romance of the city makes Paris a wedding destination second to none. In addition to these reasons, we originally chose Paris as a honeymoon destination because my groom is in the food and beverage industry, and we planned to indulge in the finest culinary creations in the world. In researching Paris as a wedding destination, I thought: How daring, romantic, luxurious, and unforgettable!

Three things to note about Paris…(1) There are strict residency and legal requirements to get married in Paris, but nothing is stopping you from getting married in the U.S. beforehand and having a symbolic ceremony with a celebrant in Paris; (2) Many vendors and venues are closed for part of July and the entire month of August; (3) Google translate via email will become your best friend as many vendors prefer to communicate in French. The good news – you could plan your own wedding in Paris mainly via email as I did with patience and persistence.

In 1826, Chapelle Expiatoire was constructed in memory of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette. The old world architectural features, acoustics, natural lighting, and circular structure are perfect for an intimate ceremony. Violinist Rodolfo Benitez played some of our favorite classical music to include Ludovico Einaudi.

We could not marry in Paris without obtaining wedding photographs in front of Lady Eiffel and Pont des Arts. Clary Pfeiffer, our wedding photographer, was amazing about placement and poses, incredibly professional and hardworking, and fun to be around. I was drawn to Clary Pfeiffer’s photography because she captures romantic photographs using soft light at flattering angles. The Eiffel Tower, riddled with tourists, added to the character of the photographs. We followed tradition at Pont des Arts, and enclosed a heart-shaped locket with our names and the wedding date on a chain link of the bridge, and made a wish upon the skeleton key as it was launched in to the Seine.

During our photography session, we sent our guests on a tour of Paris in a luxury vehicle with an English-speaking tour guide and champagne. The tour included all of the major sights in Paris.

The Four Seasons Paris George V offered us the most comprehensive and attractive wedding package of all luxury hotels in Paris. I have never experienced luxury, first class service, exquisite French design, and mind-blowing cuisine as during my entire wedding experience at the Four Seasons Paris. The reception took place in Salon Anglais modeled after the library at Versailles. Jeff Leatham created an amazing floral design. Our decadent wedding meal was the best I have ever had to include foie gras, sea bass, filet mignon, and chocolate mousse cheesecake. Violinist Rodolfo Benitez provided amazing music from Bob Marley to Lauryn Hill.

Organic Elegant Paris Wedding Inspiration

For far too long Paris has lived on my ‘wanderlist’, and today I’ve gone off the deep end with this utterly romantic shoot from Le Secret D’Audrey and Wedding Paris. The organic arrangements from Lily Paloma complement the Inbal Dror dress, while the dreamy white setting, with it’s lengthy drapes, candlelight and herringbone floors encompass elegance galore. Join me in the gallery for more.

From Wedding Paris… When I proposed Audrey about organizing a styled shoot, I did not have a precise idea of which side of the parisian wedding I wanted to show. But when she gave the idea of shooting in a typical Parisian apartment all white with mouldings, it became an evidence that we wanted the result to be “simple” but oh so elegant and romantic!

Because Paris IS elegance. Because Paris is Romance. Getting married in Paris does not need too many artifices because this city brings you straightforward to the point that it is enough for itself. That was exactly the point of the shoot.

Lovers having dinner in a Parisian architectural apartment with a delightful fireplace like we can only find in France, tones of silver and white and an amazing light captivated by Audrey.

For the flowers, we wanted something organic and fresh with light tones surrounded by the heat of candlelights. Lily Paloma used wonderful buttercups, anemones and roses. Not to mention the amazing Inbal Dror dress all embroidered of white and silver that fitted so nicely in the atmosphere. The silver bolded stationeries seemed to be the continuity of the crockery.

Surprise Paris Proposal

I’m still struggling to wrap my mind around how amazing this whole situation is. Not only did this lucky lady get one gorgeous sparkler placed on her ring finger, but she got a whirlwind trip to Paris on the side. And to ensure that not a moment would be forgotten, Catherine O’Hara trailed along and captured every fantastic French moment. Even on National Proposal Day, I’m not sure if anything beats this.

From the Bride… What was supposed to be a weekend trip just outside of San Diego, California turned into the most romantic trip of my lifetime.

Cole, my boyfriend of six years, told me to pack my bags for a short weekend trip. Next thing I knew, we were in the airport terminal and he already had my passport. I had no idea where we were jetting off to since I had a grad school event in two days, but when I put on my “Oui, Mon Cherie” (French for “Yes my dear”) sweatshirt and Cole laughed, I knew we were headed to my dream destination: Paris! I was overjoyed! I had never been to Europe before and I could finally put all those French courses to good use in the most romantic city in the world.

Cole isn’t always a planner, so I was shocked when he had this secret going. With the help of my two best friends, Cole planned the whirlwind trip. The next big surprise was when we headed off to one of Cole’s favorite spots, Sacré-Cœur. We had been sleeping off jet lag when he suddenly declared we had to get to Montmartre. We hopped in a cab and were on our way. As we weaved in and out of the summer crowds around the magnificent mountain top church, I could feel Cole rummaging through his pockets. The rest was a blur! I don’t love being the center of attention, so when he got down on one knee, I quickly and excitedly said, “YES! Now get up! GET UP!” He had planned so well, that there was a secret photographer to capture the moment. We then gallivanted throughout Paris as a happy freshly engaged couple, with photographer Catherine O’Hara poetically documenting our new bliss!

Truly a “Oui, Mon Cherie” moment!

Romantic Paris Summer Wedding

Paris weddings whisk me away to a whole other world, one that is overflowing with blush and gold, where the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe appear in the background of all photos. This lucky couple said their vows in this magically chic place with a celebration planned by Fete in France, captured by BKT Films. It’s time to pop some champagne, dive into K Hulett’s photos and prepare to fall in love.

From Fête in France… Mary & Jason are a Brooklyn, NY based couple. Jason’s family is based in Paris and Mary’s family had spent time in Paris during her childhood. It was Paris where they first met, and though it was elsewhere and a while later before they got together, they couldn’t think of anywhere more perfect than Paris to get married.

Mary and Jason’s wedding was one of the most fabulous weddings we’ve had the pleasure of organizing. The event was filled with elegance and class, with elements of fun and amusement mixed in. The day was filled with surprises from bagpipers, to vintage Citroen cars, custom cocktails, and a light up dance floor for an amazing party atmosphere.

The couple had an elegant ceremony held at the American Church in Paris. At the end of the ceremony the bride and groom were led down the aisle by bagpipers – a surprise for everyone including the newlyweds and a nod to the groom’s Scottish heritage. Following the ceremony the couple was whisked away in a vintage Citroen Traction and the wedding party was picked up in colorful convoy of vintage Citroen 2CV cars – to top it off the drivers donned berets and striped “marinière” shirts. The parade of cars took the bridal party to the Eiffel Tower for group shots and then the bride and groom set off for their own personal shoot. Beautiful shots overlooking all of Paris were taken from the panoramic terrace of the Hotel Raphael and after pictures around the city the couple met their guests at the Salons France-Amériques for champagne and a menu of signature cocktails expertly crafted by mixologists from Paris’ hippest bar. Dinner was held in gorgeous salons overflowing with white and pink flowers. Each guest had a hand crafted paper Eiffel Tower filled with chocolates at their place setting. Following dinner everyone headed downstairs into the converted Turkish bath which was transformed into a nightclub for the event. The band led Mary and Jason in with Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” and the DJ quickly transitioned to start the party with Jay-z’s “Empire State of Mind.” The DJ had guests dancing well into the night on a colorful light up dance floor that brought the party atmosphere to the next level!

Romantic Elopement in Paris

What happens when two madly in love sweethearts throw caution to the wind and elope in the City of Lights? I’ll tell you – magic. In the most romantic of settings, the gallery captured by Le Secret D’Audrey only confirms that it doesn’t get any better than Paris. Because when you pair a ridiculously photogenic couple and a beautiful garden beautiful things are bound to happen and it’s all right here.

From the beautiful Bride… We decided to forgo a planner and planned the wedding all on our own in a short period of time. Being in the wedding industry, we know some weddings can take a lot of stress, effort and time which we didn’t have but generally are people who like to keep things fuss-free. Planning from the other side of the world meant relying on the good ol’ internet and a few international calls and Skype timed just right. It also meant we wouldn’t see anything tangible until the day of the wedding. There were no cake tastings, only tasty descriptions from the baker, no hair or makeup trials (which was probably the only thing that made me a bit nervous), only Pinterest boards, and most importantly, we had no idea where to get married because we had no idea what existed within this possibly fictional place we’ve only seen in movies called Paris. But we did as much as we could by putting our efforts into the details such as the flowers, props, our getting ready apartment, and some items that I made including the wedding invitations and vow books. And we made sure to invest most in our photography and videography as we knew it would be the only thing we would have to look back on this once in a lifetime moment.

Although this could be a bit nerve racking, it was actually fun to see everything come together on the big day. We knew to keep our expectations low as anything could happen especially in a place we’d never been. And ultimately the most important thing was that we were in this amazing place together to get married. We had a simple celebration with close friends and family the week prior and after much packing we were off. After an eleven hour flight across the globe with our wedding dress and suit in our carry-on, we finally arrived for the first time ever in Europe! We spent some time wandering around a few places we had in mind during our time in Paris and knew when we found the spot and decided to risk being kicked out by security guards. And a couple days before our wedding day, we found our ceremony venue.

The wedding day predicted rain so we prepared for the worst by picking up an umbrella the day before. Although the weather seemed to be on our side that morning, when Jin ran out to pick up some breakfast he was unfortunately pick pocketed in the grocery store. It was really a bummer that we were a target especially on our wedding day but didn’t let it ruin our day. The getting ready portion of our day in our little Parisian apartment was full of energy and excitement and it was nice to be pampered by getting my hair and makeup done for the first time. We also loved getting ready together, Jin steaming my dress and me helping Jin put on his bow tie. Once the makeup artist was finished, Jin left the room as I put on my wedding dress. We saw each other for the first time in our wedding attire during our first look and it was such a priceless, special moment we will never forget. We had our cake cutting, toast, and gift exchange before heading out to make it official!

The ceremony was one of the most emotional moments of the day as we both couldn’t hold back tears as we tightly held hands and recited our vows to one another. Jin had written the most beautiful vows and I couldn’t help but cry like a baby. Here we were standing in this beautiful garden in Paris about to become husband and wife and that’s when it sunk in. We really made it happen. Our dream wedding became a reality.

We spent the rest of our day around Paris taking our wedding photos as husband and wife. And as soon as the ceremony was over the rain started to come down during our photos but it only added to our wedding story. How could you be anything but happy in this place having just married the love of your life. After our special dinner, we ended the evening with a first dance as husband and wife in our apartment to a very emotional song. Clinging to one another tightly, we had never cried so many tears of joy together.

Stylish, Intimate Wedding in Paris

I’m going to go right out and say it, this wedding is my dream. Intimate, beyond stylish, filled with romance and oh, did I mention it was in Paris? Because that is just the icing on this very pretty cake. Beautifully captured by Skiss Agence Photo Paris and planned by Wedding Paris, this wedding will dance around in my dreams for days.

From The Bride…Opting for a small intimate wedding in Paris, our favorite city in the world, was the best decision we’ve ever made. We were able to turn what is typically a 1 day affair into a week full of lasting memories for us and our families. From having the girls makeup done at our loft in Saint Germain, to taking pictures with our families at the Eiffel Tower, and ending with romantic shots in Montmartre, it was surreal.

Everything from the minute we arrived to the breathtaking venue until we left with our glasses full of champagne was magical and memorable. To give our full attention to each other and our 8 family members was more enjoyable than any large wedding could have ever been. To be able to share this with those that mean the most to us and the amazing city of Paris is something we will be forever grateful for.

From Agathe at Wedding ParisI always knew Stacy would be a special bride. She wasn’t classical and had her own style that she wanted to show in her wedding. That is why we thought about touches of black (ideal for a winter wedding) and anemones and went to the streets and art galleries of Montmartre for the shooting!

We loved to be able to put a black lace table runner that contrasted with the classical and gorgeous style of the venue. The crystal chandeliers with gold candles reflected all the mercury votives lights and gave the room an enchanted atmosphere. Even after having put all the decorations, when we opened the room door, we were stunned by all these elements that combined so well.

Romantic Parisian Destination Wedding

To say this wedding is something out of a fairy tale is to put it lightly. From pre-ceremony photos all over Paris, to a reception aboard a private boat by the Eiffel Tower, dreams don’t get much better than this. One & Only Photography and Le Secret D’Audrey captured every breathtaking moment that Fete in France created, and as we wrap up this Monday, I can think of no place I’d rather be than right here.

From Fête In France… Jasmina & Maurice came to Fete in France from Switzerland to plan their intimate Parisian wedding. The couple selected the gorgeous and glamorous Shangri-La in Paris to host both their ceremony and dinner reception.

The hotel benefits from a location near the Eiffel Tower and many of the suites have a lovely view on this iconic monument. Jasmina had a suite with a view for her hair and makeup preparation.

The couple decided to do their photos before the ceremony around the city with the very talented One & Only Paris Photography. After a sweet first look they were whisked away in a vintage white Rolls Royce for photos around the city. After the shoot the couple met back up with their bridal party at the Shangri La for the ceremony. The ceremony was held in one of the historic private salons of the hotel which features high ceilings, fireplace, beautiful hardwood floors and lots of gilding. The couple, being multilingual, chose to incorporate French, German and English into their ceremony. The bride carried a bouquet of pink peonies and white garden roses. When the ceremony was finished guests showered the couple in rose petals as they headed to their cocktail hour.

The champagne cocktail hour was held on the terrace with spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower. After cocktail hour everyone headed into the Grand Salon for dinner at one long table which was filled with pink, peach and white flowers, which accented the soft gold in the room perfectly. For dinner they had a traditional French meal and the couple was toasted by close friends and family. Each guest was treated to a box of Laduree macarons at their seat. After dinner the couple cut the three-tiered cake and headed out for dancing and cocktails on their private boat. As they left the Shangri La guests held confetti guns which showered the couple in gold colored confetti as they headed to the boat. They then embarked on a moonlit cruise of the Seine where the couple shared their first dance and enjoyed cocktails with guests. They enjoyed a two hour cruise while dancing to a DJ as the monuments of Paris sailed by.

Classic Couture Paris Wedding

Oh, Paris. You never disappoint. Fearless fashion, pristine architecture and infinite romance… a city made for weddings. And this one, seen through the lens of Le Secret D’Audrey? It’s everything Paris love should be, starting with that striking Paolo Corona dress. The Bride, prettied up by Sanni Sorma, was meant for this dress that sets the tone for the entire day. With Luxe Paris Events at the planning helm and Celebrant In Paris uniting these two love birds, it’s more pretty than you can dream up.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/109691326 600 338]

From the beautiful Bride…Jason asked me to marry him while we were enjoying a romantic weekend on the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, Australia. As the sun was setting over a glass of champagne he gave me a beautiful diamond and proposed.

Jason and I wanted our wedding day to be intimate, beautiful, sacred, and filled with love. We discovered Audrey’s photos (Le Secret d’Audrey) of Parisian elopements and not only did we love her photography but as soon as we saw a photo of the Chapelle Expiatoire, a beautiful private chapel in the 8th Arrondissement, we knew we wanted to be married there. We were looking for a special destination that signified our love and everything about Paris and the Chapelle was perfect.

Through Audrey’s website I found my Dress designer Paolo Corona. I saw a dress designed by Paolo that I loved…it was feminine, soft and sensual. I emailed Paolo in Paris and the process of creating my dress began. Every part of the creation process (via skype & email) and final fitting with Paolo (and Billy) in Paris was pure joy…I sparkled from the inside out when I put my Dress on. Seeing me in that dress didn’t only bring a tear to Jason’s eye when I walked down the aisle but to my beautiful father too.

Billy (Luxe Paris Events) found a lovely private room for our reception at the Saint James Paris and then all the final details for our day fell into place. We were fortunate to find wonderful people to contribute to every part of our day. It was very special to have our dear friend Isabella Baumeler, an Opera Singer from Switzerland, join us and sing a capella in the Chapelle…her voice is incredible and touched everyone’s heart.

Our day was a magical day filled with love and romance. From the start of our day to the end we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day with so many touching moments.

I began my day meditating in the early hours of the morning…meditating on love, commitment, and the peace I felt as I was about to marry my soul mate. I never realized how much I would enjoy this day…every minute of it. The time before with my parents as we all got ready while Sanni was doing my hair and makeup, driving through the streets of Paris in our mint green Citroen, and then seeing Jason waiting for me as I walked down the aisle with my parents towards him, feeling the love we share between us and our beautiful connection, committing to our personally written vows, Isabella’s heart touching voice, the love of our loved ones…it was all so special.

Paris…the city, the Chapelle, the people…touched our hearts and we will forever remember our day of love in this romantic city.

Everyone who contributed to our day not only provided outstanding service but they all had an openness and gentleness about them. We were truly surrounded by love and provided with timeless memories to cherish.

A Trip Through France on Film

I wish I could express how much I love Melanie Gabrielle for sending this gorgeous walk through France with us, but I’m just so awe-struck by each breathtaking image words have escaped me. As someone who would pack up and move to France at a moments notice, this gallery has given me serious motivation to make that move tomorrow, or at the very least, frame each of these stunning works of art for myself.

I love to travel. It’s a longing deep in my soul. and Europe has a special place in my heart since my family is from there; in fact, my mom still has family living throughout France. Normandy is one of my favorite places in France. It’s quiet, there are chateaus everywhere, and the people are some of the sweetest you’ll ever meet! The south of France is where my heart is though. The lavender, the olive trees, the stone buildings with beautiful blue shutters, the cobblestone streets… it’s heaven on earth.

Last may, I attended the Sylvie Gil Workshop in Normandy and decided to take my soon-to-be husband with me and do a little traveling before and after the workshop as a sort of “pre-honeymoon” trip since our wedding was only 6 weeks away! (ps. taking the train is THE way to travel around europe! It’s not too expensive, easy to navigate, and takes you almost anywhere you need to go!)

We started in the South of France, and had the most amazing time walking the streets of Grignan. We then made our way to Normandy where we visited Mont St. Michel (one of my favorite places on earth) and spent some time at Chateau le Val and Bruce Chateau for the workshop.

After the workshop was over we headed to Paris to spend the last few days exploring the city of love. We stayed at the Hotel Splendid and highly recommend it! It has the PERFECT view of the Eiffel Tower and it’s romantic twinkling lights.

A few days in to our stay in Paris, we took a day trip to Strasbourg in Alsace, a little town on the border of Germany with a lot of German influence, to visit some family.

Our last night in Paris, we made reservations at 58 Tour Eiffel, one of the restaurants on top of the Eiffel Tower, had the most amazing meal, and watched the sun set over Paris. It was the most romantic night in the city of love, and I can’t wait to go back!

Romantic Paris Engagement Session

After going through this engagement shoot, I would argue that no city is more romantic than Paris. These photos by Kayla Barker have me not only dreaming of idyllic French getaways, but drooling over this bride-to-be’s style. From the glamorous pink creation to the chic red lace dress, she captured the Parisian flair perfectly, and these moments are where I shall remain until I must return to reality once again.

From The Bride… My fiancé Chris and I planned to go to Europe for a month as a pre-wedding trip and decided to get some engagement photos taken whilst we were over there. We contacted Kayla Barker because we fell in love with the beautiful photos sampled in her portfolio. She’s a very talented photographer and so we were very excited when Kayla said she was available to take the engagement photos for us in Paris. As Audrey Hepburn says, “Paris is always a good idea” and the most romantic city in the world. We were so happy and amazed when we saw the beautiful film scans from Kayla. Taking our engagement photos in Paris was one of the best decisions that we made and having Kayla capture the moment for us made it extra special. The engagement session was so fun and we had plenty of laughs along the way.

Glamorous Destination Wedding in Paris

New Year’s Eve calls for a little dose of glitz and glamour, and this bride’s Amanda Wakeley gown most certainly hits the mark. It’s the ultimate frock for a Parisian “I do,” and thanks to the talented Mon Plus Beau Jour, the whole day (rain and all!) was a dream brought to life. Mademoiselle Fiona captured the magic, and it’s all sitting right over here.

From Mademoiselle Fiona Wedding Photography… Gillian+Josh are from Canada and gathered their loved ones in Paris for a lovely, stylish, intimate wedding. They had planned an outdoor ceremony in a little garden tucked away in Le Marais, but it poured pretty much the entire day. Thankfully they had the right attitude and the right planner, and no bad weather could put a damper on the festivities. The ceremony was moved to a beautiful apartment, and although we weren’t able to go to all our originally planned locations, sometimes the impromptu ones are the most fun.

From The Bride… Growing up I never had a vision for my dream wedding. It was not until Josh proposed to me in our apartment after a Saturday night couples session of hot yoga that the wheels began to turn. We knew we wanted a small intimate wedding and realized a destination wedding would accomplish just that.

We went through a list of potential destinations and when Paris came up it just made perfect sense. Paris is always a good idea. We wanted to create an atmosphere for our day that was simple, understated, elegant, and unstuffy, and Verjus provided just that. Although we had never been to Verjus, we instantly fell in love with its photos online as it reminded us of our favorite restaurant in Toronto. Being from Canada we knew we would need some help with the planning.

After speaking with Marie-Emilie from Mon Plus Beau Jour it immediately became clear she was the person for the task. She made the process simple, seamless, and fun. Her most outstanding recommendation to use Mademoiselle Fiona for our photos was incredibly on point. The ceremony in our Paris rental apartment could not have been any more perfect. With a live acoustic rendition of Skinny Love to walk down a rose petal aisle, with all of the people we love and each other- it was everything. For the reception I chose peonies in simple vases for their connection to my grandmother. She grew countless peonies at her nursery when I was a kid. Fiona captured the overwhelming love shared with our family and friends and the absolute joy had by all.

We will never forget that rainy day in Paris. It has left an indelible mark in our hearts and tremendous fond memories will stay with us forever.

Romantic Wedding Inspiration Shoot in Paris

I am an absolute francophile. And Paris? Well, it’s my favorite place in the whole wide world. Loren Routhier’s images are proof that with a glittering Adrianna Papell  gown and sparkling Jimmy Choo shoes even a dreary day in Paris is utterly romantic. I can honestly say that after peeking through the gallery, I will actively be planning my return to the City of Lights.

From Loren RouthierA styled shoot in the City of Lights full of sparkles, metallics and gold! Our gorgeous model, Liz, was styled elegantly in an Adrianna Papell gown that was a throwback to 1920’s art deco Parisian chic. We accessorized her with an ivory fur stole by Adrienne Landau, Givenchy earrings and a gorgeous pair of sparkly Jimmy Choos. Our handsome groom, Jared, wore a classic black suit from H&M. The table settings and glassware were all vintage from Paris. In true Parisian form, we staved off the rain long enough to get dramatic shots of the Eiffel Tower and even managed to catch a brief ray of sunshine before the first drops fell from the sky. We shot all around Paris and took in the iconic sites such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.

From Luxe Paris EventsOur first meeting it was obvious that Brian and Bridget were a very special couple. Their love shines brighter than the Tour Eiffel at night and working with them for this special moment was truly a breeze. Their appreciation of my work and their trust that I would bring it all together really made working with them a pleasure. I find the Musee Rodin to be one of the most magical monuments Paris has to offer. It offers ornate “classic french” details but remains simplistically beautiful. The chateau (once the home of the artist Rodin) paired with the expansive garden, home to Rodin’s many sculptures and fountains, it offers a fabulous backdrop in the center of Paris that feels like you are 100s of miles away in the countryside. The special and romantic nature of the venue, for me, reflected perfectly the amazing couple that Brian and Bridget are. After their ceremony they were whisked away in a mint colored vintage car with their photographer for a fabulous picture taking adventure before returning to a private apartment on rive gauche for dinner prepared by a private chef. It was romantic, simplistic but fabulous and the perfect little get a way for the elopement of the perfect couple.

Intimate Elopement in Paris

In my humble opinion, it doesn’t get any more romantic than being in France with the one you love. Crossing the globe from Perth to Paris, this couple chose the City of Lights as their destination “I do”. Beautifully planned by DREAMS IN PARIS they were wed in an intimate ceremony, and Le Secret D’Audrey was there to capture every lovestruck moment. Take a look at the gorgeous gallery right here.

From Le Secret D’AudreyAs a photographer in Paris, I know how couples flying to Paris to get married are looking for romance. And it is exactly what I love about Paris. As a local I am always happy to stroll through the city with the newlyweds for couples photos in some of the most amazing locations Paris has to offer. When I discovered Cherie was a talented stylist in Australia, I knew her intimate elopement in Paris would be stunning. It didn’t hurt she married an handsome man like Rhett. Looking at them being emotional while exchanging vows reminded me how privileged I was as a wedding photographer to witness such milestone moments in life.

From the beautiful Bride… Rhett proposed to me very intimately at the Viceroy Bali in Ubud.
He asked me to marry him over a romantic dinner in the privacy of our beautiful villa. It was a dream setting under the stars overlooking the Valley of the Kings. Our ceremony was at Chapelle Expiatoire which is located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The Chapel was dedicated to King Louis XVI and his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette. Our reception dinner was at Le Cinq, Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris. Rhett and I both share the same love for Paris. The history and the beauty of the city, so when we decided we wanted to elope (just the two of us) we knew it had to be Paris. We found Chapelle Expiatoire through a blog which also led us to our amazing photographer – Audrey from Le Secret d’Audrey. We didn’t really think too much of the date but we knew we wanted the season to be right which is why we chose later in June as the start of June can still be cold and rainy in Paris. A mid week wedding is less crowded and the Chapel can be booked for private weddings. We wanted the wedding to be elegant, simple and timeless. For our music we had a harp in the Chapel played by Caroline Lieby. We decided to elope because we really wanted the day to be about just the two of us with no distractions, as much as we love our family and friends we really wanted this moment for us, intimate and romantic, something between only Rhett and I. I had organized a gown a year prior to getting married but unfortunately the designer did not produce the garment that was promised. So 4 weeks out till my wedding day I was without a dress and having a little melt down! A colleague of mine had worn a Karen Willis Holmes dress for her wedding and oddly enough she also had a very similar story to mine. She had told me how wonderful Karen Willis Holmes had been to her when she went through the same drama. I immediately went online and after looking on the Karen Willis Holmes website I instantly fell in love with the ready to wear collection and in particular the Anya gown. By luck they had it in stock, unfortunately it wasn’t my size but after a few alterations it fitted like it was made for me! I can honestly say this was the dress I was meant to be married in and the service that I received by Prea and Karen was outstanding. I found it extremely hard to find shoes that were comfortable and simple as I didn’t want any jewels that could get caught on the inside of the dress while I was walking and I also needed them to be comfortable for Paris. I found my shoes through Windsor Smith, nothing fancy but this did not matter too much to me. I wore a veil which I purchased online through Karen Willis Holmes and my earrings were chosen by my husband and purchased from Swarovski in Paris.

From DREAMS IN PARISCherie & Rhett fell in love in Australia, in Perth, the city where they work and where they live together. When they decided to get married, they chose Paris, the city of love, as their wedding destination. They wanted an intimate elopement, something very special, a magical place to celebrate their love for each other and they wanted their elopement wedding in Paris to be remembered forever. Cherie got in touch with me last summer. Enough time to prepare this very important day the way she always imagined. A very elegant, simple, but sophisticated French-touch wedding, with a dreamy romantic atmosphere. And finally on her wedding day, everything was perfect: the sun, her amazing dress, the beautiful peonies in her hand, the white 1951 Bentley, her favorite song played on a harp, the light chapel… and of course Rhett next to her. Cherie and Rhett spent plenty of time in Paris by capturing the romantic flair of the French city, walked into its avenues and boulevards, discovered its historical monuments, making sightseeing and talking about their chance to have found each other – before leaving for their next adventures, starting with their honeymoon they currently spend in the South of France.

Romantic Spring Destination Wedding in Paris

Escaping to Paris with the one you love? That’s about as good as it gets. But do it with makeup guru Sanni Sorma and photo genius Ian Holmes by your side, and you’ll get a destination “I do” with pin-worthy moments from start to finish. It’s just the ticket to wrap up this Wedding Wednesday, and the pretty goes on in the gallery right here.

From The Bride… Nobody can deny that marrying your best friend is one of the most special moments in life…but having the opportunity to marry him in Paris in undeniably the most romantic thing in this world. At least it was for me…

Everyone asks, why Paris?

I should start by saying it was not a life long dream for me to wed in Paris. In fact, I had visited Paris as a teenager and wasn’t a huge fan. But, when I met Tim (hubs), I learned very quickly that traveling to Paris was on his bucket list. So, I knew we would go there together at some point and was curious to revisit the City of Lights as an adult! The thought never crossed my mind that we would one day marry there.

We looked into venues all over California and nothing clicked. We were waiting for that place we would walk into and just “know”, because everyone told us that would happen. After nearly a year of searching, I was beginning to feel like we were going to turn into that couple who was engaged for life. Then, one day while searching the Internet for new ideas, I came across a wedding photo of a couple in Paris and fell in love. At that point, I knew there were no other options. Voila, our search had ended.

Six short months later, we arrived in Paris with 48 of our closest family and friends. While we did hire a wedding planner, we did most of the work ourselves via the Internet & I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how well things turned out! Thank you Style Me Pretty for all your inspiring posts!!!

Our adventure began on Friday evening with a group picnic at Champs De Mars, where we enjoyed baguettes, cheese, fruit & wine. Then, we all hopped on a double decker bus for a private tour of the city. It was fantastic! Everyone sat up top and took in the scenery of Paris while catching up with old friends and making new ones. We had the bus drop us off at Hotel Balzac, where we continued the party over cocktails.

Saturday, we met our guests in the 12th Arrondissement where we set off on an evening cruise of the river Seine. We were blessed with great weather and a beautiful sunset. Truly, there is no better way to see the sights of Paris.

It seemed like Sunday arrived in a flash! Tim and I decided to do a first look so we would have more time to celebrate with our family and friends. We rented a classic Rolls Royce for the occasion—and I quickly learned how hard it was to get in and out of a car in a wedding dress! We visited the Louvre and a couple other locations for photos before stopping at a café for a quick pre wedding cocktail.

From the moment we stepped into our venue, it was magical. I found Maison Des Polytechniciens online while searching for a reception location & was blown away by the intricate details of the interior. Tim and I also really wanted a small intimate wedding & we were lucky enough to get the entire venue to ourselves. Therefore, we decided to host both the ceremony and reception there.

Paris was everything we had dreamed of and more. What we loved most was that we were able to spend quality time with each and everyone one of our guests over the weekend. We got to enjoy watching my Mom experience her first trip to Europe, hear stories of friends reconnecting with their husbands over their travels, and got to witness the magic of Paris through my 8 year old cousin’s eyes. And, just as we hoped, by the time we hit the reception, all 50 of us were family.

The night ended with us sneaking a quick trip to the Eiffel Tower for a photo, while our guests took a dance break from dinner. We came back, ate croquembouche, and then cabbed it to the nightclub Queen to dance…because what else would you do in Paris?!

Paris being known as one of the most romantic places all over the world, hence every wedding and event we organize there is a delight.

This time was about creating an Inspirational shooting around the luxury given by the Shangri-La Hotel Paris, located at the heart of Paris with the legendary Jardin des Tuileries just around the corner.

With the great participation of two talented artists; mg-image and Sandra Aberg, we knew we were able to create an inspirational ambiance beyond expectations.

The Shangri-La Hotel Paris opened its doors to us, delivering an inspiring universe where we wanted to highlight the Parisian elegance and refinement with green accents, light pink flown by the authentic gold touch.

We’ve had a great time planning everything and making this happen, not to mention the amazing vendors working with us, thinking of Samuel Rocher with his talented team and our beautiful models for couple.

Very special thanks and acknowledgment go to Sandra Aberg for her remarkable talent capturing moments and to Gabriel Menassier from mg-image for his incredible video.

From  Ian Holmes Photography… Kelly & Tan recently got engaged, Tan proposing whilst over in Vienna. Traveling again through Europe they decided to have an engagement shoot in Paris. Kelly packed two outfits specifically for the shoot but really wanted a third dress for the final shots. I put her in touch with Ma Bonne Amie in Paris who rent out some truly beautiful gowns. One of which you can see modeled perfectly by Kelly in the final images. A big thanks to Catherine O’Hara for assisting and Chloe from Ma Bonne Amie who was kind enough to come along on the shoot and take care of details.

Romantic Paris Wedding at Four Seasons George V

Ah, Paris, I love you. Of all the destinations, sweet Paris radiates elegance like no other. Effortlessly, too. And my proof is in Ethan Yang‘s breathtaking imagery today. Paired with a stunning Bride donning an Inbal Dror dress, I can’t help but be mesmerized by every single shot. See them all in the gallery.

From the beautiful Bride… Paris – It was certainly a dream come true. Shortly after we got engaged and about a year leading up to our special day, I had countless variations of where and how our wedding would turn out to be. The common theme amongst my many visions was that this wedding, wherever it ended up being, was inevitably destined to be intimate and elegant.

By channeling our passion for fashion, the arts and beautiful architecture, Paris was simply the perfect choice. We couldn’t think of a more appropriate opportunity to celebrate our unity by planning a hopelessly romantic wedding and an once-in-a-lifetime trip for all of our friends, family and most importantly, for each other.

Now that once the destination was decided, we had a couple of options: a chateau wedding? A wedding in a hotel? We wanted to make traveling for guests as easy as possible without having to rent a car or traveling more, so we decided on a hotel. My vision was romantic yet elegant. After contemplating on many inspiration boards and color themes, I decided on blush, crème and champagne as I thought it would best fit the Four Seasons George V for our wedding. I wanted to incorporate similar colors to the rich, romantic feel of Parisian arts and décor and thought those colors would best compliment because they were subtle yet sophisticated.

Planning a wedding from abroad in a country that I was unfamiliar with; with the language barrier, different time zones and working fulltime (right, ladies?) made this an experience of a lifetime. Every moment, beginning from the day we started planning up until the very last minute of the wedding night was truly a memorable one.

After the ceremony, as we were taking pictures, we were greeted by waving, applauding pedestrians. The genuine smiles from the strangers helped us express the love we had on this fantasy day in Paris. The wedding day was more beautiful than anything I could have ever dreamt of – from the gorgeous weather to the view of the Eiffel Tower from our hotel suite, the intimate group of our family and friends were the perfect people to share the momentous day with. On a warm, spring night, the romantic sophistication of Paris swept through the air and our wonderful photographers – Ethan and Karis, did an amazing job capturing this special day that will allow us to reminiscence in true color for the rest of our lives.

Believe it or not, After only a couple weeks of dating, Jun bought me a Jimmy Choo Passport Cover for Valentine’s Day and wrote, “So we can travel in style together.” Little did we know that would come true. In fact, the passport cover was the same material and exact design line as my reception shoes, unintentionally! That there told me it was meant to be. The first gift I had ever received from Jun became an essential to our wedding and we sure did “travel in style.” Escaping to Paris was the perfect solution to being truly relaxed and having fun, while still having a stylish wedding.

We wanted to incorporate the elegance of the Four Seasons and the delicacy of the French language to the décor as much as possible. Since our intimate wedding required four guest tables, it was the perfect idea to name the guest tables after each season in French. This enabled us to thematically decorate each of the four guest tables’ flowers by the color and tone of each season. So fitting yet, so unique as we found the words “printemps, été, automne, and hiver” absolutely beautiful and motivational to use for our décor.

Our escort cards – I wanted these to be particularly unique since there are so many variations of escort cards. I wanted them to be special and something that would set the theme for the wedding and would stand out. I thought, why not feathers since I incorporated them into our wedding invitations?

The only thing that was DIY was those feathers, feathers, feathers. I went to numerous craft stores in the city to look for the PERFECT feathers. Now many know, feathers do not come in perfect condition; flimsy at best. I finally made it to a craft store that most students from Parsons and FIT go to to get their fabric and found just the right amount of white feathers and bought their whole stock. Most, if not all, were in horrible condition which I knew would be a huge project.

First, I had to cut out “sample” escort name cards to see how it’d fit and how much I had to cut from the stem. After testing and wasting many, I trimmed the sides of every feather and made it primp and proper. Second, I used a flat iron and curling iron to fix the ends and hair sprayed each one so they would stay in tact. I was worried how “in tact” they would be during the travel and making it to Paris. That was something I’d worry about later. Third, had to go back and trim each one to make each look as similar as possible – from the length to the dimensions of the feathers as they would be standing up. Fourth, I Inserted them into thick books to flatten and straighten the strands out more. Waited a few more hours and Voila! Perfection. Fifth, I gave my MOH dimensions of the escort cards that I would want cut out so she could type in each guest’s name. We picked the perfect font to match the feathers and my theme, and I printed them on card stock and cut them to stick onto the stems of the feathers. We found a styrofoam box at our florist’s and spray painted it glitter gold and made it a base for the feathers to stand on. The amount of feather hair and dust we ate from these, I cannot tell you. We looked like a sweatshop spread out with different sections of each feather. All in all, it took 5hrs to finish and I could not tell you how proud I was in making my perfect, yet unique escort cards that guests would remember. If I had to do it all over again, I would.

From Vanessa & Caroline – Créatrices de MariagesRebecca and I came together to create a beautiful inspiration editorial for a chic Parisian elopement. Even though we live and work in Paris we don’t have a lot of opportunities to do a typical Parisian shoot. Paris is an endless source of inspiration. The city is so magical and romantic, we are never tired of seeing the Eiffel Tower or the streets of Montmartre. Everything in Paris from the cafés to the streets and buildings has a romantic touch everywhere you look. We wanted to style this elopement as a romantic escape in Paris: rose poudré, French roses, croquembouche from the famous Angelina, the streets of Montmarte – all the ingredients to a perfect and glamorous elopement in Paris. With this in mind, it made perfect sense start our day at the Eiffel Tower which is a stunning backdrop and takes our breath away every time. There is nothing quite as iconic as La Tour Eiffel and is the perfect spot to say intimate “I do’s.”

The second Parisian place we absolutely wanted to take pictures at was Angelina’s. Perfectly located on the Rue de Rivoli with its grand arches, this famous French pastry boutique and tea room is an institution in Paris, the symbol of the Parisian “art de vivre” for more than a century. It was Coco Chanel’s favorite place for her morning cappuccino. She used to come to Angelina every day while she was living at Le Meurice next door and sit at the same table. Angelina is launching a new collection of French wedding cakes and the chef created a masterpiece for us – the gorgeous and classic croquembouche. Next we took a stroll in Montmartre strolling down the cobblestone streets, perfect for lovers who want to take a quiet moment and discover Paris. Michaël Leal created a classic French bridal bouquet with French roses (Pierre de Ronsard), whites and blush pinks for a romantic touch. He also staged the croquembouche from Angelina’s, showing how classic Parisian flowers can add another layer of elegance to a dessert table. The delicacy and softness of the flowers added a classical yet lovely touch to the cake. The gorgeous bride with her elaborate and romantic updo wore a lovely couture wedding dress by Parisian designer Christophe-Alexandre Docquin paired with stunning Chanel earrings as another nod to classic Parisian elegance and grace. In true Parisian style we combined a classic Parisian designer with a fabulous new one for a romantic and grand wedding getaway in Paris.

From Milton PhotographyEarlier this year I went traveling to Paris to walk to the runway during fashion week for a Canadian designer (Melany Rowe). While I was in Paris I wanted to photograph a look book of Melany’s dresses; however her new collection didn’t arrive in time. So, we decided to do a styled shoot with her feature pieces!

Packed all the way in our suitcases from Canada, the dresses and stunning beaded pieces survived! Her haute couture collection was fabulous, but most of all the beadwork on her feature pieces was jaw-dropping! It’s a risqué and daring dress, but its also a never-to-be-forgotten, one-of-a-kind gown.

Lucie from Perles d’émotions did an amazing job coordinating all the vendors and styling the shoot. The Chateau looked fabulous! All the pastel colors and the moss on the trees was all too exciting. This was also my first time trying out shooting with film! I love it and I plan to shoot film so so much more after this trip!
