Did anyone else jump for joy when Pantone announced that the color of 2019 would be Living Coral? I’ve been fully enjoying seeing my favorite hue in inspiration boards across the internet land and cannot wait to see some of you infuse this pretty hue in your Big Day. Today, we’re serving up slightly more muted shades of coral (dreamyyyy) in the form of this inspiration shoot from Nord & Mae. Married with a contemporary style, there’s plenty of breathing room between the details, making for jaw-dropping images by Susanna Nordvall.

From Nord & Mae… With our editorial design we wanted to bring understated vibrance into the cold, low light of the harsh winter months in the northern parts of the world. Muted coral tones and warm glowing candle light in a contemporary setting surrounded by the stark, cool walls of this loft in Fiskars. Wedding couple, Julia & Kevin are celebrating their wedding in relaxed but fashionable style, wearing clean cuts, quality fabrics and minimalistic jewellery pieces by local labels.
Our floral designs are created mixing fresh cut florals with plenty of dried bits from warmer seasons, such as palm leaves, floral pods and pepper. But we also incorporated elements we can forage during the winter months such as branches and dried reeds. With an aim to make our designs more sustainable we save and repurpose most of these dried elements from event to event. A beautiful way to keep our footprint a little lower during the cold season.
The wedding menu is designed around seasonality, using dried and fermented berries, fruits and vegetables as well as plenty of root vegetables and other ingredients readily available during winter months. We especially love the vibrant dessert designed around the wedding’s style and color palette. It pairs local sea-buckthorn berries with a moist cinnamon cake and sweet meringue.

Outdoor weddings are so last year. The new trend? Why not get married in a atrium inspired greenhouse. Thanks right, take note from the creative minds of Hey Look and bring the outdoors in and say ‘I do’ while surrounded by plants and plenty of pretty. Thanks to Katja Scherle we’ve got just the gallery to inspire it all. See how you can pull it off in The Vault!

From Hey Look…Elina & Laurence were dreaming of an elegant, tropical destination wedding in Cuba. Old-wordly glamour, palm trees, striking architecture and vibrant colours. For budget- and simple logistical reasons however, their dreams and reality just did not want to meet. Their planned ceremony and wedding in a traditional Finnish location were far from the tropical atmosphere they had wished for.
So, we created this little “elopement” from their wedding for them – a wedding session with the feel of their dreams in a location almost just outside their door steps. The Helsinki botanical garden offered the perfect setting – incredible flora, gorgeous architecture and a tropical climate.

There are farm weddings, and then there are farm weddings like this one captured by T & S Hughes Photography. A wedding that defines timeless and understated elegance, hosted in a place where charms seeps through the walls. It’s a Finland fête that makes you want to stop and stay awhile, which I highly recommend doing. Do so right here.

From T & S Hughes Photograph... Christian & Vibeke are both from Oslo, Norway. On a separate trip to Finland, they happened to have dinner at Westerby Gard, a country farm restaurant and hotel. After seeing the venue and taken by its charm, they decided to have their wedding there. It’s a beautiful venue, full of rustic and vintage warmth but outfitted with modern decor and furniture. Westerby Gard frequently hosts weddings, and so the staff is more than capable to making the event special.
Getting friends and family there was the tricky part! Even the maid-of-honor initially flew to the wrong airport in Finland, but everything worked out and everyone who was supposed to be there was. Guests stayed at the hotel at Westerby Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and enjoyed all their meals together. The food was amazing and the atmosphere felt like something out of a story book.
The wedding in terms of vendors was pretty simple. We provided photography coverage. Westerby Gard was the venue, caterer, and lodging. Guests rented vehicles and drove to Westerby from Helsinki, Finland, about an hour and a half drive away. Vibeke had her hair styled at a nearby salon in Ingå. The town provided the perfect backdrop and setting for this charming and intentional wedding.
