Today’s wedding, sent to us by Adeline & Grace Photography, is all about beach chic. And I know that there are a ton of you brides out there that are looking to make your beach-side wedding smart, elegant and not at all cliche. So, without further ado…
The beyond great bridesmaids dresses are by Simple Silhouettes and paired next to the vibrant green florals, the look is pretty close to perfection.
From the bride…
We both love the beach so it only made sense to get married on the sound and we used the sound as our inspiration, naming the tables after spots/islands that meant something to us(Fishers Island, The Race, Long Sand Shoal). We also used the nautical map of the sound – we wrapped them around our invitations (I wish that I had a picture of our invite to show you) and also around candles on our centerpieces. Because I always collect shells when we are at the beach in the summer we had shells on all the tables, and our invite features letterpress shells as well.

Dierde and Jay’s completely beautiful wedding was sent to us by Adeline & Grace Photography…one of our favorite Little Black Book members. Their eye for simple, lovely shots seem to be a constant in everything that they send our way. Whether they are shooting hopelessly romantic black and whites or crystal clear, vibrant photographs, every image is flawless.
So, when they sent us today’s featured wedding, we of course…swooned.
From the gorgeous bride…
The whole reason why Jay and I got married on Elihu (in Stonington, CT) was because it was on the sound. We found out on our first date that the town Jay grew up in, in Ct, was exactly across the LI sound from the town where my family was from and where we spent all of my childhood summers (up until just a few years ago). The first time I went to Jay’s apartment he had a map of the sound up on his wall and we looked and saw just how close we had been to each other all those years growing up, swimming in the same water every summer.
The absolutely lovely flowers (that will get even more gorgeous as the day progresses) were all designed by another of our favorite Little Black Book members, Hanna Floral Design. And the coordinator, who did a brilliant job with all of the many details, was Lucinda Wesson.

Today’s wedding took place on a private island. Yep, a private island. Before you stop reading (because there is no way that you could afford to have your wedding on a private island)…WAIT! Yes, the venue is spectacular, but really it’s the bride and her adorable fiance, the preppy but oh-so-chic bridal party and all of the fabulous, totally doable details that really make this weddings one of our favs.
Sent to us by the wonderfully talented Tiffany and Erica of Adeline & Grace Photography, this wedding is for all of you brides out there that are looking to create a smart, fresh look without going overboard. But before we dive into the details, I wanted to share a few pictures of the lovely bride…
That dress, which is by Jenny Lee and was bought from the Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier in Manhattan, is perfection. The hair is wonderfully romantic, not too wedding-y or overdone. And honestly, that is the feel for this entire wedding…beach chic, without being contrived. Styled without being fussy.
Stay tuned to hear all about it!

Not only was Katie and Colin’s wedding one of the most elegant we’ve seen, it also had a sensational bridal party! The maids wore Amsale. The little man and maids were in Annie Girl from The White Dress by the shore. And the lovely Katie … Vera, of course!
Katie’s mom, Brenda and Traci Romano planned this sensational event and Yumiko of Hana Floral Design is responsible for the unbelievable flowers. We are so happy that so many of our Little Black Book members had a hand in this amazing wedding!
from Yumiko: We used antique green hydrangeas, various hot pink garden roses, magenta stock, pink phlox and orchids for the centerpieces, as well as for the bridemaid’s bouquets. While the maids wore a gorgeous Amsale dress in a muted plum shade, the bride really wanted pink flowers mixed with greens. The bouquets
definitely popped against the dresses. Katie carried a muted ivory, blush and green bouquet, with her
Grandmother’s rosary attached to it.
This may well be our new favorite wedding … (am I allowed to say that?) …

This is a tough one … Justin and Mary Marantz sent us some extraordinarily beautiful wedding photos a while back and we loved them so much, we just had to ask them to send us more. Now, we have them and it’s soooo hard not to show them all!
Katie and Colin were married in September at Stonington, Connecticut. At this point in the story, we would usually quote from the bride. Today, though, we want to share a few words from Justin and Mary, today’s featured Little Black Book photographers.
from their blog … through the course of the day I heard her ask this question of no less than twenty other people surrounding her- the proof and possession of a true giver’s heart. And one by one they would each just smile and shake their heads, too overcome by the generosity and thoughtfulness that one single person could possess. She is elegance and grace and goodness defined. A timeless iconic beauty- think Hepburn meets Holmes- mixed with just enough witty banter to make everyone around her just want to be her friend. Because you can just tell that she’s the kind of friend who loves with her whole heart and hugs like she means it. But that’s just Katie. And Katie would not be complete without her Colin. Because while Katie gives to take care of everyone else, Colin is the one who takes care of her. And you only have to see him look at her once to know that he always will.
Wow …
Here are a few pre-wedding photos of the so-so beautiful Katie.
