This is our focus at The Farm on Adderley and what we bring to our events, both in-house here at the restaurant and off-site, too. We don’t do cookie-cutter weddings. You’ll never smile more than you will on the day of your wedding.  And guaranteeing that perfect photo-worthy smile?  The “painless dentistry” specialists, NY Smile Specialists.  Think teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, Invisalign and cosmetic reshaping all at the hands of Board-Certified Prosthodontist, Dr. Robert C. Rawdin.  You’ll look amazing.

From NY Smile Specialists… Every bride wants to be beautiful on their wedding day. So start with the most important accessory of all. Your smile!

Plan ahead. Some brides (and grooms!) may only need whitening. Others may require more involved, more time consuming procedures – like cosmetic reshaping, bonding, porcelain veneers, porcelain crowns, Invisalign, or combinations of these. Make sure you have the time you need for the services you need.

New York Smile Specialists, a celebrity Manhattan dental practice, is the office of Dr. Robert C. Rawdin, a recognized leader in cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry.  Dr. Rawdin is a Board-Certified Prosthodontist, the specialty that focuses on the restoration and replacement of teeth with an emphasis on natural esthetic beauty.

Very few dentists in the country have achieved the level of training that Dr. Rawdin has – even fewer are Board-Certified Prosthodontists. His patients benefit from his technical expertise and artistry whether they need simple or complex dental care, based on an individual, customized treatment plan. Dr. Rawdin will evaluate the attributes of what makes a smile beautiful – color and shape of teeth, arrangement and alignment, and the health of gums.

New York Smile Specialists is a welcoming, friendly, high-tech office with views of Central Park. The practice utilizes the latest advances in cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry to make the process of creating a beautiful smile much easier for patients. Patients love that Dr. Rawdin has the ability to offer CEREC – technology that makes it possible to have a crown done in one day – minimizing the number of appointments. Patients also love Dr. Rawdin’s calm and comforting, gentle manner, often remarking about his “painless dentistry”.

So while you plan your big day, remember, nothing compares to the glow of a natural looking, healthy, radiant smile. It makes every photo of any bride more beautiful.

Classic Military Wedding

A dashing groom in uniform, a stunning bride in Ulla-Maija Couture and a breathtaking wedding all set against an amazing Greenwich backdrop: this, my friends, is the epitome of a traditional wedding.  From the beautiful blooms crafted by KD&J Botanica to the elegant Belle Haven Club reception, it’s a day of non-stop sophistication, all captured by Melani Lust Photography.  Soak in every last detail right here.

From Melani Lust Photography… They met on the beach in the Hamptons where they were spending a weekend with mutual friends. Their meeting didn’t get off to a promising start. Jennifer was engrossed in one of the Hunger Games books, and conversation was cut short as a result. Young adult fiction had never been the key to Carter’s heart, but he was making an equally immature impression through various sophomoric drinking games.

Fortunately, things went up from there. Little did Carter know that Jennifer had met her Prince Charming! The next seven months were spent improving Jennifer’s military knowledge and vocabulary: “trinkets” became “medals,” “soldiers” became “Marines,” and “outfits” were properly identified as “uniforms.” Upon return from his deployment to Afghanistan, Carter proposed on New Year’s Eve.

The day began with a soft, delicate rain, and sunny skies came out just in time for their first look. It was a fairytale ceremony in an historical church followed by the American Military custom of the arch of swords, giving a symbolic pledge of loyalty to them from their Marine family. It is also a tradition for the sword bearer on the right to give the bride a “swat” on her rump and utter “Welcome to the Marines!” Off they went to the Belle Haven Club where Katherine of KD & J Botanica created a fun and elegant reception design in pink and navy. The families celebrated with dancing, games and fresh cigars; laughing into the evening when a dramatic storm swirled through the club, a passionate ending to a perfect day.

From Jubilee EventsJulia and Jamil, one of the sweetest couples you’ll ever meet, met during a bike race. Yes, during! At the finish line, they decided to meet and get to know one another. The rest was history as they set to ride the rest of their travels together. Julia wanted to create a relaxed, vintage feel for her wedding in playful green, yellow, and ivory with bicycles being a source of inspiration. We brought in a fabulous vintage bicycle and guests all took home custom bells. Their guests were the best–dancing non stop all night, even with cookies and milkshakes in hand. With the weather Mother Nature granted us coupled with our amazing team of vendors, the day was nothing short of amazing, which you could see written all over Julia and Jamil’s face through the entire day!

Intimate Seaside Wedding in Connecticut

Big weddings are fun, yes. But sometimes a smaller, more intimate wedding surrounded by the reaching sea and your closest friends and family can make it even easier to let loose and enjoy the ride. And I guess having a charming venue like the Bell Haven Club doesn’t hurt, either. Thankfully, Karen Hill Photography was there to capture the event. Enjoy!

Casual

From Karen Hill Photography… Amanda and Sam were married at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, surrounded by sea, sunshine, friends and family. For their wedding, it was important to keep their wedding intimate, yet fun with a casual flair. They wanted everyone to have a great time, which they did. The Belle Haven Club is a spectacular location overlooking a beautiful harbor surrounded by mansions, boats, the sea and sky. After the first look and portraits, the ceremony took place outdoors with the harbor as a dramatic backdrop, while the reception was tented. At sunset, during cocktails, the Club’s tradition is to light a canon, wow! The colors – turquoise, white and plum – were inspired by the sea and surroundings. It was an incredible day filled with beauty, light and love! It was beautiful!

DIY Fall Connecticut Farm Wedding

When two architects with an eye for design tie the knot, you know you are about to see a wedding that wows. And not only did they craft a lovely fête, they also learned how to jam for their adorable favors and even brewed their own beer for their guests. Talk about impressive. It’s personal, heartfelt and all them – and thanks to Olivia Gird Photography, every moment is waiting for you here.

From Olivia Gird PhotographyAmy and Brendan, a pair of architects, both have a strong eye for design. While planning the wedding, the two teamed up, bouncing ideas off of each other and ultimately, incorporating a bit of each of their personalities into their day! It all began with an overly involved plan to make their own Save the Dates. What began as a small idea soon turned into a labor of love (or frustration!). Along the way, the two went strawberry and blueberry picking, a nod to an activity that began their engagement weekend the year prior. They then taught themselves to make homemade jam with the fruit that they picked to use as names/table numbers. Lesson learned: research first! Neither had any idea that jam has to be made in small batches. Two weeks and 70 jars of jam later, the favors were complete! Amy and Brendan also teamed up in a friendly rival beer brewing competition to brew the best beer for their guests. The beers were handed out as favors. “His” was “Paddler’s Poarter”, recognizing the pair’s love for kayaking. “Hers” was “Hoppily Ever After.” And so they shall be.

Backyard Farm Wedding

I don’t know what it is about family farm weddings that makes me so incredibly happy, but I’m not going to fight it. Perhaps it’s because they are super intimate, or incredibly sweet or maybe it’s the thoughtful touches that always seem to be sprinkled throughout. Whatever it is, when I land on a wedding like this on from Julie Morawski For Carla Ten Eyck I couldn’t be happier. See why here.

From Julie MorawskiThere are a whole bunch of things in this world that make me happy, and a sweet backyard farm wedding is one of them. Ali, Ry Ry and I arrived at Kirk’s family farm, where the sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and Caroline and Kirk were getting hitched. I can’t say enough about these two. They were kind, laid back, and so very much in love. I’m talking like, big time cuties. The day was joyful, and beautiful and just, well, just look.

DIY Connecticut Garden Wedding at Burr Homestead

This is one ridiculously crafty couple. To say this gorgeous garden wedding was a labor of love would be a serious understatement. They had their hands in just about every pretty detail captured by Collin Hughes sitting in this gallery. From the stunning invites to all the heartfelt details, this gorgeous Bride put it best when she said she wanted her day to look a little simple but wild. Mission accomplished.

From the Bride…Rob and I said “I do” in the gardens of the Burr Homestead and then celebrated in a white tent surrounded by big old oak trees. We loved this spot not only for it’s beauty but because it’s just a few streets away from the Long Island Sound where we spend our weekends in the summer. Our style goal was for everything to look simple but wild because we feel these words best describe who we are as a couple. We’re not the couple that has fancy things, but we’re both designers so we tend to focus on the details of the things we do have.

We wanted to make our decorations ourselves with as many local things as we could find. We wanted to bring out things in our landscape, like the ferns we see on our hiking trails, rocks from our beaches, driftwood from our streams, so thats what we did. We created terrariums with mini fern plants and succulents for each table and used the same plants for favors so that each guest would take home a piece of the wedding. I had so much fun making the terrariums that I began filling antique vases that I borrowed from my brothers antique shop and driftwood that we found at a nearby beach with the extra plants.

Rob and I designed and assembled our own wedding invitations, each was printed on recycled craft paper and tied together with a piece of hemp. We created our own envelope inserts using vintage botanical prints. Since Rob is a graphic designer/illustrator he made all the table numbers and escort cards. He hand painted signs for us to put on the street and near the parking lot so that people could find our event. I made a wedding website for our guests to view details about our event but also learn the story of how we met and made it to match our invites.

My mother made my rhinestone garter and the belt for my wedding dress. She also made the ribbon sticks for our guests to wave at us after the ceremony, the kids loved these. We used the same ribbon for backs of our chairs at the sweetheart table, we wanted everything to match.

This was certainly a huge undertaking, but I loved how it all turned out – it was my dream wedding.

Glamorous Secret Garden Inspiration

Fact: when The Secret Garden and a talented team of vendors join forces, it’s downright magical.  Think the beauty stylings of Dana Bartone & Company, fab paper goods from Coral Pheasant and crazy gorgeous event design by A Polished Plan… all coming together in a day that seamlessly mixes vintage romance and rustic elegance all in one setting.  See it all captured by Greg Lewis right here.

From A Polished Plan… The inspiration for the design of this styled photo shoot was the desire to put a modern twist on a ‘Secret Garden’ concept. The Wadsworth Mansion is a very popular wedding destination in Connecticut, but is not generally known for it’s outdoor event space, aside from the lawn area for ceremonies. Our design team was approached to create an inspirational photo shoot to highlight the beauty of the under utilized outdoor locations on the property.

We infused an abundance of earthy and natural elements that are normally found in a backyard garden setting with more formal and glamorous elements found in an upscale wedding or event. Rustic wood tones, earthy garden greenery, watering cans and shades of vintage patina copper were arranged side by side in the design with sophisticated and highly textured linens, bold yet romantic flowers in shades of raspberry and peach, and even a crystal chandelier al fresco.

The highlights of the tabletop design include vintage seed packets perched in amber sorbet bowls, ombre shades of green vintage flatware, luxurious textured linens reminiscent of garden florals, and copper chivari chairs. The floral design is simple in nature and highlight gorgeous late summer flowers grown from a local CT dahlia farm in bold color shades of pinks, peaches, and raspberry. All of the vintage containers for the centerpiece are in various patina shades of copper. Delicately strung above the table is a crystal chandelier hanging from grapevine rope.

Together with a vintage cocktail hour seating arrangment, an intimate ceremony set-up in a sunken rock garden, elegant and refined bridal fashions, and a gorgeous “naked” wedding cake, they create a beautiful story of a earthy garden party meets an upscale chic soiree.

New Haven Lawn Club Wedding

Confession time: purple never lived towards the top of my wedding palette love list. In fact, I was sort of indifferent to the whole berry family of hues…that was until this Michelle Lange beauty came across my screen. Splashed against one wildly elegant ballroom with gold accents and cozy candles everywhere you look, this my dears, is the purple “I do” done oh-so-right. Have a look right here!

From the Bride… Matt and I crossed paths at a work holiday party about 3 years ago. We had known each other for quite some time but it wasn’t until that evening that Matt asked me on our first date. After almost 2 years of dating, Matt surprised me in my apartment with a birthday cake that read, “Will You Marry Me”.

When we decided not to get married in a church, Matt and I wanted to find a venue where we could have a traditional religious ceremony. We knew that New Haven Lawn Club was the one the second we stepped into their ballroom. Not only are the fireplaces and chandeliers breathtaking, the room offers the gorgeous, romantic setting we were looking for.

Thanks to our family, friends and vendors, our wedding day was more beautiful and memorable than we ever could have imagined.
