The Most Elegant Desert Garden Wedding in Paradise Valley

Give us pretty details and we are happy wedding bloggers. Give us a story that goes along with said lovely deets? And you’ll probably find us (literally) jumping out of our seats with joy. Today’s desert fete is just that my friends—painstakingly pretty, thanks to Imoni Events and Carte Blanche Design (and allll of the vendors below). But it’ll also pull at your heart strings in other ways… such as the Groom’s careful and loving attention to detail (read the story below after you peruse Charity Maurer‘s stunning images!). Plus, all of it took place in the Groom’s father’s backyard… bet you didn’t see that one coming.

From Charity MaurerIt’s truly heartwarming when not the bride, but the groom first reaches out to you as a photographer. After proposing to the love of his life, Katie, groom Chasen knew that he wanted their day to capture the warmth and sincerity of his love for her. From the first moment of their elegant wedding day, every detail was set in place to celebrate their closeness and bond with one another.

Before Chasen first laid eyes on his glowing wife-to-be, he had her read a letter enclosed in card he had purchased for her. Little did she know that he had searched high and low for months to find a duplicate of the card he had sent her years ago, after their very first date. Talk about a man who loves details!

The two tied the knot in Chasen’s father’s backyard, surrounded by friends and family. They wanted to incorporate their love of lush plants and botanicals despite living in the arid southwest. With the help of the immensely talented floral designer, Randi Eshelman, they merged the natural beauty of the native landscape with the luxuriously abundant greenery they so desired, creating an incredible desert garden wedding.

This precious wedding was a work of art, from the close-knit relationship of the bride and groom, to the perfect execution of the garden-party décor; from the custom cocktails and signage to the fanciful Volkswagen bus photo booth. It was an honor to be present at the start of Katie and Chasen’s married life together.

California Cool + Southwestern Style = Colorful Al Fresco Success!

One read through this beautiful Bride’s story below and it’s crystal clear that she and her hubby-to-be loved their wedding vendors. They supplied the colorful ideas and their team transformed them into a wedding masterpiece, perfectly mixing California cool with their stylish Southwestern site. Rachel Solomon captured the creative combo and all its bright details, from the bridesmaids and the bouquets to the al fresco table settings, leaving us feeling inspired and excited. See it all right this way!

Colors

From the Bride… When Neil and I talked about what we wanted for our wedding day, we both agreed that we wanted a traditional wedding where we could celebrate our marriage with friends and family. As simple as that sounds, it helped us prioritize where we wanted to focus – we wanted to make sure that we provided a fun and memorable experience for our guests.

Neil and I loved the mission-style of both Brophy Chapel and El Chorro. Because he grew up in Santa Barbara County and I grew up in Phoenix, we loved the way that El Chorro perfectly blended the coastal mission style white stucco with the beautiful desert mountains. Lindsey Rendon, the wedding coordinator at El Chorro, was a true delight to work with and earned our trust very early on. She made everything so wonderful for us and we are so grateful to her. We loved that we had the option of eating outside and dancing inside. The lawn at El Chorro was just the perfect setting for the al fresco, intimate dinner party that we had in our minds. Lindsey helped us pick out a delicious, family-style dinner including sea bass, pork tenderloin and Chateaubriand.

Teaming up with Rachel Troyan of Outstanding Occasions was absolutely one of the best decisions we made. I felt like I kept throwing random, disjointed ideas her way but she took them all in stride and when she presented us with our first design guide, I was in awe. She had taken all my disjointed ideas and made a cohesive and beautiful event design out of them. On top of that, Rachel was super organized, timely, knowledgeable, professional and honestly just fun. We spent so much time together, it was nice to genuinely enjoy her.

We were really inspired by El Chorro’s traditional yet fresh feel and how warm and inviting the whole place felt. I wanted to incorporated the bright pop of bougainvillea into our color scheme and flowers from the very beginning and have always loved the way navy and grey work together. We knew we wanted to put the groomsmen in classic navy suits, so we sought out long, flowing grey chiffon dresses for the ladies (and a grey suit for my man of honor!).

We hired Rachel Solomon as our photographer early on because we knew how quickly her schedule would fill up – she was recommended by both our venue and Rachel, our planner. We both loved how natural, relaxed and light-filled her photos were. She has a talent for always catching the most beautiful lighting and color in her photographs. Her timing is also truly amazing and she has a way of catching each person’s warmth. She was so organized and kept in touch with us the perfect amount throughout the whole planning process.

During our first meeting with Celebrations in Paper, our stationer, we discussed doing a floral envelope lining as a fun pop. Rachel, our planner, noticed a print, out of the corner of her eye that reminded her of bougainvillea and called our attention to it. We all loved it instantly and that design quickly became a theme throughout our wedding – from our invitations, to our table number, to one of our cakes and even some pillows on our furniture vignettes (which was an exciting surprise by Rachel for my mother and me!). The invitations themselves were simply stunning. Rene at Celebrations in Paper was so helpful in designing our grey and gold invitations and immediately picked up on the classic, romantic look we wanted.

Working with Růže Cake House was so much fun and we loved how much creativity and joy they brought to our desserts. Our macaron favors were a huge hit with all of our guests and the cakes were just so beautiful. Not to mention, they were simply delicious.

Our floral design with Carte Blanche Design was a lush, romantic dream come true for me. All the complementary colors combined with the candle light and greenery were exactly what I wanted. We love how it added to the relaxed, welcoming and celebratory feel of the whole day.

Mariée Bridal was so great to work with for my wedding dress. It was actually originally two pieces: a strapless dress and a separate lace top. Their innovative problem-solving helped me find my perfect dress! Not to mention the tireless alterations work by Sadie at Couturier! She removed the sleeves from the lace top and attached it to the silk dress so well. She truly made it my dream dress. One of my favorite details of the day was that I was able to wear my mother’s veil! Wearing her veil in the same chapel that my parents were married in almost 42 years prior was so special to me.

Lastly, our band, Instant Classics, was beyond amazing and we have plenty of friends and family who are still talking about how great they were. They played an acoustic set during dinner that had everyone quietly singing and swaying along among the chatter. They then moved inside where they just had so much fun with the crowd and played all the favorites so well.

One of my other favorite details was my “something blue.” My sister had a blue handkerchief embroidered “My American girl becomes my forever girl” and the date of our wedding in Neil’s handwriting. “American Girl” by Tom Petty is our favorite song so having that on a handkerchief (that was used plenty of times throughout the day!) was so special.

Neil and I are so grateful to all the amazing people, vendors and friends and family, that helped make our day so gorgeous and memorable. There was a point at dinner when we looked at each other with huge smiles on our faces and said, “This is exactly everything that we wanted.” We still feel that way every time we look back on our day.

A Color Happy Affair in the Arizona Desert

With friends and family traveling from Texas, Lindsay and Whit knew a “mini-destination” wedding in Arizona would be just the escape their guests needed. They set to work planning a lush, colorful, vibrant celebration while playing on Paradise Valley’s natural scenery of desert and mountain beauty. Rachel Solomon and Something New Media came on board to document the day and you can watch it all unfold from beginning to end.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/213946878 600 338]

From the bride… Whit and I met at a SuperBowl party in February of 2012. Our conversation was fun and effortless and we learned that we had several mutual friends, but the spark was just not initially there for me. We lost touch for several months after that and went our separate ways – he moved to Nebraska while I stayed in Texas – but thankfully, we reconnected in September of 2012 when I learned that he was a groomsman in a wedding that I would be attending the following February. Since we lived in different states, we began texting all day long, talking on the phone every single night, and spent as many weekends as we could to visit each other. We survived a two-year long distance relationship and after we both finished graduate school, we decided to settle down in Texas in the summer of 2014.

Whit and I got engaged at the Camelback Inn in Paradise Valley, AZ on December 27th, 2015. I was hoping Whit would propose when we were visiting my family for Christmas that year. Many of my friends were beginning to get engaged and married, and I was just dreaming about when it would finally be our turn. Little did I know, Whit had taken a day off work and flew to Scottsdale a few weeks prior to the proposal. During his quick 12-hour visit to my hometown, he picked up my engagement ring at Oliver Smith Jeweler and started hunting for wedding venues with my parents and grandmother! Whit also scouted out the perfect spot to propose to me, in front of Camelback Mountain.

Whit and I stayed in Scottsdale through New Year’s Eve and began planning our springtime wedding in Arizona, the most beautiful time of year. Although we had a 15-month long engagement, we had most of our wedding vendors and details planned out by March of 2016. We felt lucky that we had tackled all of the “big stuff” pretty early on because that March also happened to be the same time we learned that we were expecting a baby flower girl in November of that year. We welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world a week before Thanksgiving, and she quickly stole our hearts and the hearts of all of our guests as my mom carried her down the aisle on March 18th, 2017, our wedding day!

When the wedding planning began in late December of 2015, Whit and I decided that we were going to have a “mini-destination wedding” in Arizona (considering most of our guests would be traveling from Texas). We chose to have our ceremony at Brophy Chapel since I graduated from Xavier College Preparatory in 2008, and we just knew our reception had to be at El Chorro! The desert landscape and breathtaking mountain views were the perfect scenery for our wedding.

My vision for our wedding theme was a romantic garden with some Arizona desert flair. My mom, Karen Hoffman, worked an endless amount of hours tying all of the details of our theme together, with the help of our planner, Christine Southerland. Randi Eshelman of Carte Blanche Design made my floral dreams come true, from the greenery that dressed the ceiling pipes in Casa Paloma to adding blue thistle and succulents into my hot pink bridal bouquet! The bright floral arrangements accompanied by the blue table linens from La Tavola Fine Linen added so much life and color to Casa Paloma at El Chorro.

Other details that made our wedding unique were our custom floral invitations and monogram designed by Jacki Miller of Foil & Ink; a special song (“Isn’t She Lovely”) dedicated to our daughter during the reception from Shining Star Band; Whit’s Death Star groom’s cake and the cactus cookie favors for our guests (with gold embossed monogram tags done by my mom) from Ruze Cake House; our wooden welcome sign, which was created by Autumn Matney; the groomsmen’s baby blue dotted bow ties from The Tie Bar; and my “something old”! Oliver Smith Jeweler designed all of the jewelry that I wore on our wedding day, except for my ruby cross, which was my something old passed all the way down from my great-great-grandmother.

I recently learned that my great-great-grandfather found this beautiful family heirloom on the ground in a park in Poland in the early 1900’s. The cross was given to my Babcia (my grandma), who wore it on her wedding day. She passed it down to my mother, who wore it on her wedding day, and now I got the privilege of wearing the cross on my wedding day. I am so looking forward to the day when I can place this cross around my own daughter’s neck just like my mom did for me!

Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and I am so thankful we chose the amazingly talented Rachel Solomon to photograph our wedding, as well as Something New Media who filmed our special day. Both Rachel and Something New Media have allowed us to relive our special day over and over again through the truly beautiful images they captured. We feel like we hit the jackpot with our wedding vendors and we wish we could play our wedding day on repeat, but for now, Whit and I will just enjoy watching our wedding film with our baby girl!

A Fresh Take on Pastels in the Arizona Desert

Carly and Chris knew they wanted a destination wedding in the Arizona desert right from the get-go. But long distance planning proved to be a little easier said than done. Luckily, they had an incredible vision and brought on just the right vendors to bring their effortlessly pretty celebration to life. From the color palette to the florals to the cactus motif and more, Elyse Hall didn’t miss a moment and we’re thoroughly swooning every last image.

From the Bride… Chris and I were both born and raised in Pennsylvania, but always fantasized about the intimate guest list, and possibly more predictable weather, of a destination wedding.  My mother and stepfather moved to Arizona 13 years ago, and ever since it has become more of a second home to me than anything else.  Lucky for me, my hubby-to-be also loves it there, so when the idea came up to host our special day in the desert, it immediately felt right.

I can’t quite remember if we chose Arizona generally first, or if the venue sealed the deal. Either way, I will never forget the first time I saw a photo online of El Chorro’s gorgeous ceremony lawn – it made my heart skip a beat. Much like the groom, the venue too was love at first sight. My advice on venues: Go with your gut. And, pick a place where you love their contact person. You will talk to them about everything, and often!

For our wedding vibe, I wanted our wedding to feel romantically effortless and magical. While scrolling through the vaults of SMP, I found myself gravitating toward “styled shoot weddings”. This was kind of ridiculous because not only are they not real, but they’re also designed to be perfect. This inspiration made me pay lots of attention to detail. I think I was also drawn to the small-scale size of the styled shoots, knowing our guest list would be around 60 and my ideas would be doable.

For our style and colors, I originally loved what you’d probably call “rustic chic blush/neutral weddings,” but was quickly bored by their popularity. So I went for an updated version with more of a dusty rose hue of pink and dressed up the rustic theme with some fancy velvet. For the flowers, we used mauve-toned quicksand and amnesia roses, with subtle touches of lavender and gray on a white and green background. It was still very neutral but not as predictable.

One major element of DIY for me was the invitations. Chris really wanted a cactus on our invites to showcase the desert destination.  It’s impossible to find a classy cactus, so I designed the suite myself and had them printed by a local letterpress printer in Pennsylvania. I printed the envelopes myself and added details to dress them up.

I hired a wedding planner (Caitlin at Outstanding Occasions) for final prep items, who was an incredible resource for recommendations, not to mention she ran the show on our wedding day. Because of her and my catering manager’s recommendations, I really had the best wedding team in Arizona. I could never have done this from a distance without these two ladies!  Before any planning began, even before our destination was chosen, I always knew I had to have an amazing photographer. After all, the photos are the one thing that will last forever! Elyse did an unbelievable job capturing our day.

Everyone warned me “on your day, there will be surprises.” And as if on cue, the train of my dress ripped 2 minutes before I walked down the aisle, literally.  Despite this little hiccup (my mother came prepared with pre-threaded needles), I was still so beyond happy on my wedding day. I think this was as much of a very real feeling as it was my conscious effort to be emotionally present.  The love I had for my new husband, and for every single guest, was exploding from my heart.  I think our excitement on our day was actually contagious because everyone seemed equally giddy.

After months of planning and hundreds of selections, it was hard for me to envision what the final result was going to look like. I made so many big decisions without any real design experience and just hoped the result would look somewhere close to how I pictured it in my head. When our big day came, I was speechless when I saw everything come together. I feel so lucky and so blessed to have been the bride on that special day.

A Wildly Romantic Wedding in the Arizona Desert

What began as a last-minute “plus one” to a wedding became a forever kind of love for Marian and Mark. And when they began planning their own big day, they knew showcasing the Arizona scenery was a top priority. A soft color palette and natural greens complemented the setting, and Rachel Solomon told the story of the day in stunning fashion.

From the bride… Mark and I met through my older brothers about 5 years ago, when he moved from the Bay Area to Arizona. We started dating about a year later when he needed a last minute plus-one to a friend’s wedding. My brothers thought that I might be able to suggest one of my friends as a suitable date, but I offered to go instead. I always thought Mark was fun, kind, and handsome – and there could be worse ways to spend a Saturday, right? We had an amazing time together, and the fun hasn’t stopped since then.

Mark proposed almost 3 years later, while we were hiking in beautiful Sedona, AZ. The love of the outdoors, especially the breathtaking Arizona scenery, has been a constant throughout our relationship, and it was the perfect spot to decide to spend the rest of our lives together.

As we began wedding planning, we knew that we wanted to showcase Arizona scenery – especially through the choice of venue. I think we knew the moment we stepped on the Casa Paloma lawn at El Chorro that we wanted to get married there. The venue features a stunning backdrop of Camelback Mountain and the property itself is simple, classic, rustic, and beautiful with wrap-around patios, fireplaces, and an open and airy event space.

The venue is stunning enough on its own, so we wanted the décor to be soft and natural with some rustic details. The florals from Sarah’s Garden featured natural bouquets and centerpieces in neutral whites, creams and blushes with pops of deeper pinks and peaches, surrounded by eucalyptus greenery. We also added some pops of color with rose quartz menus from Minted, paired with rosemary sprigs clipped from a friend’s garden that morning. The head table featured a long garland that complemented the greenery hung in the rafters of the event space.

Letters by Jennifer created stunning calligraphy for our custom signage, seating charts, and escort cards. We also featured some desert-inspired details in our cactus invitation suite, programs, and itineraries from Paperless Post and our custom logos from Snaptag Designs.

For my “something old” my mother created a ring bearer pillow and flower girl basket using lace from the bridesmaid’s dresses at her wedding. And my “something borrowed” was a turquoise bracelet that my grandfather gave to my aunt to wear on her wedding day.

We chose long, flowing, chiffon gowns in a pale blush from Dessy as the bridesmaids’ dresses. Paired with the silk ribbons from Frou Frou Chic, slightly moving in that day’s soft breeze, the bouquets were captured beautifully by Rachel Solomon Photography. Rachel and her team did an amazing job capturing all the moments and details from throughout the day.

And of course, the glue that held everything together was planning and coordination from Andrea Leslie and her team. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our friends and family and the hard work from this amazing team of vendors that created the best day of our lives!

Do You Dream of a Perfect Sunset at Your Destination Wedding?

Not many people really wish for rain on their wedding day (although it can be equally as dreamy!). But a perfect sunset? Always a welcomed guest. With a dramatic desert landscape in Phoenix, rich florals from Carte Blanche Design and one seriously gorgeous duo, this destination fete features a golden hour like no other. Want more sun-soaked goodness? See it all captured by Rachel Solomon in The Vault!

From the Bride… Ryan and I began as colleagues, quickly became friends and not long after that, became an office romance. Since the day we became more than just friends we have almost not spent one day apart. We work in the entertainment industry and get to support each other in our work and come home to each other at night. We quickly built our own traditions – including spending the holidays with one another’s families. On Christmas Eve of 2015, Ryan proposed and the next day we began dreaming up our ideal wedding. I was never the girl who grew up dreaming about my wedding, so once I got engaged I had no secret bridal manual to whip out and pull plans from. We started from scratch. What we did know was that we wanted the wedding to reflect us as a couple and exude FUN! I grew up in Arizona, Ryan is originally from Chicago, and we both have been living in Los Angeles for many years. We quickly realized that the majority of our guests weren’t familiar with the dramatic desert landscape that we love so much. Hosting our wedding in Arizona felt like an easily accessible location that would be a destination to most of our guests and we knew it was an incredible place to have a good time.

Once we decided on the location, our biggest priority was to feature the spectacular sunsets you can only find in Arizona. We almost immediately locked in the Sanctuary Camelback Resort as our venue. We loved that it is an iconic property in the Phoenix area that sits on the renowned Camelback Mountain and has views that can’t be beat. Further, it is nestled a few hundred feet away from where I attended elementary school, giving it a beautiful sense of nostalgia. We chose a luxurious and dramatic palette of oxblood, blush, green, and ivory to enhance the natural colors of the desert and honor the fall season. We then selected velvet fabrics, brass metals and tons of candlelight to infuse romance and warmth into the black tie optional affair.

Upon arrival, our guests were greeted by the sounds of a string quartet playing some of our favorite modern love songs. The aisle was lined with floral-adorned lanterns leading to a magnificent view of the valley. I chose an elegant, structured, crisp white Vera Wang gown and Ryan was suited up in a gorgeous midnight blue Burberry tuxedo. Through tears, we read the vows we wrote for one another and honored our parents by including them in part of the ceremony. Following the ceremony, guests were invited to enjoy cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres and – in another attempt to honor the southwestern ambiance – the sounds of a Spanish guitarist. All under a stunning Arizona sunset, something most of our guests were seeing for the very first time.

The formal plated dinner consisted of an Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad, Hunan Braised Short Ribs and Chinese Crusted Mustard Salmon. We also offered wedding cake and a dessert bar full of our favorite sweets: chocolate truffles, chocolate dipped strawberries, éclairs, fresh fruit tarts, and mini mousse cakes. And, since I’m such a pizza lover, we provided each guest with a personal pizza at the end of the night. After dinner, the party got rowdy and guests were bouncing between the high energy dance floor and the hilariously entertaining photobooth – which resulted in all sorts of props and costumes on the dancefloor! Post reception, we moved the party to the hotel bar and shut it down with our closest friends and family before retiring to our honeymoon suite for the night – which had been decorated with candles, flower pedals, champagne and gifts by our best friends.

The Most Beautiful Wedding Gown Ever!

I’m just going to come out and say it – this gown is the most beautiful wedding dress in the whole wide world. And the beauty of this day? Well it doesn’t stop there. For this intimate destination wedding is filled with beautiful blush hues, plenty of sweet family elements, Charity Maurer Photography behind the lens capturing it all to share. Witness the wonder in The Vault!

From Charity Maurer PhotographyThinking about having their wedding in their hometown of Alberta was sending shivers up the spine of bride, Paige, and groom, Justin. With that in mind they began their search for the perfect (and warm!) destination for their marriage. A few short weeks later the couple settled on the charming and luxe city of Paradise Valley, AZ. The bride’s elegant tastes are evident in all of her choices. From the soft blush-colored silk bridesmaid dresses to her own a-line dress with beading like you’ve never laid eyes on before, Paige makes it clear that she has an eye for detail. Justin, being the dapper dude he is was striking in a stylish black suit – both an homage to formality of times passed and a tribute to current menswear styles. Surrounded by both of their close families, this day was truly a pleasure to behold. Families laughed and danced together while the bride and groom enjoyed all of their planning and efforts coming together for their special day. Paige even decided to have a special “first look” moment with just her father – what a sweet moment to behold, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The couple exchanged vows bathed in the light from the stained glass windows of Blessed Sacrament Church. Their choice of the intimate El Chorro Lodge for their reception tied together the perfect look for their day. It was as if the universe knew that nothing could spoil this day, so it set out its very best on display: gorgeous weather, an incredible sunset, and a cool evening breeze. Under a blanket of stars the happy couple and all their guests danced, laughed, and celebrated the night away.

A Modern Desert With a White Monochromatic Palette

This celebration is everything. Reason being? It’s got a little something for everyone. A floral filled ceremony dreamed up by Victoria Canada Weddings & Events. A stunning Bride. An awesome ceremony sign. We’ve got all that and more (like those Wildflower Linens) and it’s all thanks to the love that Scott and Corey share. Elyse Hall Photography captured their best. day. ever. and we’ve got it all in The Vault!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/155162480 600 338]

From Victoria Canada Weddings And EventsI met Corey while planning her sister’s wedding so when Corey got engaged I was thrilled to be asked to join their wedding planning team! Scott proposed to Corey in Santa Barbara and that really drove the feel of the event. El Chorro Lodge is nestled in Paradise Valley, Arizona and has a distinct Spanish feel. Corey and Scott wanted their wedding to be beautiful but relaxed. This also exemplified them as a couple. They were always so warm and friendly, every vendor fell in love with them!

The ceremony floral was nicknamed the “hug” because the floral piece had a rounded effect. In essence it felt like they were being hugged with flowers. It was the perfect space for them to say their vows handwritten in custom books as keepsakes.

The Reception was draped in a sheer drape that was a ballet slipper pink. Gobos were layered onto the ceiling to provide light and ambiance. Delicate floral was hung from the existing trio of chandeliers as well as added to the space with other crystal pieces. The entire atmosphere was light and bright but warm and romantic. There was a subtle beauty to the wedding that still felt special and glamorous. This was evident from the gorgeous wedding dress with illusion details to her white Christian Louboutin heels.

From The Bride + Groom…Scott a Michigan native and Corey a long way from her home in Arizona met in Biology class while both studying Kinesiology at the University of Michigan. Corey was a member of the Michigan Dance Team and Scott was a member of the football team. They began dating in 2009 and have spent a portion of everyday of these last 6 years together ever since. They currently reside in Scottsdale, Arizona with their 1 year old Golden Retriever, Chesney. Corey will graduate Medical School in May 2016, and Scott works for EXOS, a leader in human performance.

Scott and Corey chose The Historic El Chorro Lodge for their wedding venue for the stunning views of Camelback Mountain and the rustic/intimate feel of the reception space. It doesn’t hurt that the food and service is first class and absolutely incredible. Corey wanted to go with a monochromatic white “desert beach” theme. It was a requirement for the decor to include overwhelming amounts of floral and Petal Pusher delivered! The esthetic very much represented them as a couple; romantic, soft, elegant, and easy. They wanted our guests to be comfortable, enjoy great food and drinks, and dance all night to an amazing band. After almost 2 years of planning the team of vendors led by Victoria Canada provided just that and more and the compliment of the night was “you look so relaxed”, exactly what they hoped their guests would say! The whole day came and went as if it were a dream, and as Scott and Corey exclaimed, “we only wish we could do it all over again!”

Colors

From Melissa Jill PhotographyMore and more often recently, I see brides and their bridesmaids expressing their individuality with beautifully mismatched dresses, hair styles, and accessories. I find this trend so inspiring, and wanted to reflect and encourage it with a photo shoot that incorporated a fresh, youthful aesthetic.

The beautiful gowns, provided by Bella Bridesmaid in Phoenix, were my staring point. We chose an eclectic mix-and-match style to pull together gray and navy tones. The pink and coral shades in the gorgeous florals provided by Carte Blanche Design offset the neutral colors of the gowns perfectly. Together, the gowns and flowers work amazingly to create a fun and fresh color-palette for spring and summer! The hairstyles were crafted by Emily Hughes to be soft but elegant, and Michelle Wright styled the makeup for a natural look that is both flattering and current.

I’m delighted with the way this styled shoot came together into something beautiful and one-of-a-kind! I hope it inspires brides and bridesmaids to play with shades, textures, and styling to create a unique look that is all their own!

From Amy & Jordan Photography… Our beautiful bride Rachael is an amazingly talented wedding planner with a renowned planning company here in Arizona, Imoni Events. We had a feeling that her wedding was going to be beautiful, but we were even more blown away than we could’ve ever imagined! One of the coolest parts of her wedding was that she planned the entire affair with budget-savvy ways to save big. She and her friends MADE the food served at the reception, which was hosted in a friend’s backyard, and she only paid $20 for her wedding dress! We really admired her ability to save money and still throw one of the most gorgeous weddings we’ve ever seen!

From the Bride… What made the planning process easy was simply letting some of the creatives do what they do best and that is to create! I inspired them with the color palette and gave them direction and said run with it, I trust you! When we started this process I had no idea what the color palette was going to be. A couple of my bridesmaids and I walked into Last Chance with low expectations and ended up walking out with five different colored dresses along with what would be my wedding dress. I had no idea what to expect when I walked into this place but for sure did not think I would walk out with a wedding dress that only cost me $20 and bridesmaids’ dresses that ranged from $15-$30! I was in awe and so excited to have what seemed like the deal of a century. I am glad I went in with no expectations and walked out with something that was literally perfect. The only thing I had mentioned to anyone at this point was that I really wanted a dress with cap sleeves and sure enough we found my dress right then and there. I had to get over the fact that I wasn’t going to be going to an actual wedding boutique to try on dresses and if you could see the iPhone photo of the people looking at me in the background you would laugh…not the typical wedding dress experience. No champagne or holding up a sign saying “yes to the dress” but it was perfect! I had three of my closest friends with me, we found a dress that was perfect for the feel I was going for and was definitely in my budget!

Perry and I knew that we were going to have to be savvy when it came to planning our own wedding especially on a budget! So from the beginning we talked through what was most important to us, which is what I tell all of my brides! We sat down and said, photography, music, flowers and drinks were the most important to us. So that being said we had to be creative with the rest…That meant I was going to be in the kitchen cooking! :) We of course wanted to feed our guest but knew we could not provide a sit down meal, we wanted to enjoy the night and have one big cocktail party. This helped so we went ahead and decided we would do stations of chicken tacos, pulled pork sliders, a cheese and meats station, and a dessert stations. This allowed for us to make some of the food beforehand! I recruited a couple of my friends along with a ton of crockpots to make 80 pounds of chicken and about 60 pounds of pork! What a couple of days that was!!! In the end we had an amazing team that helped us throughout the whole day!

It was one of the most magical days I have ever experienced! I loved going to bed the night before excited to wake up and say “I do” to the man God had picked just for me! I was so excited that this day would be a day that would hopefully reflect our love for the Lord and for one another! We know that marriage is a choice and Perry and I wanted the world to know that we were choosing to walk in the Lord’s faithfulness! One of Perry’s favorite things of the day was seeing the backyard come to life. He knows that this is something I do for a living but to be living it out as our own very day was like a dream. We were so thankful to all the people who helped prepare this amazing day and getting to see them, running waters out, and simply being able to see it transform before our very eyes was the coolest things. I was looking forward to our ceremony the most. I loved that the good news of the gospel was presented and our friends and family got to see our hearts behind the people we are today! I felt like I was glowing the whole day with our joy and peace. Walking into our reception seeing all our friends and dancing the night away was so amazing! I could not have asked for a better party to celebrate!

Romantic + Traditional Paradise Valley Wedding

We’re all about a zest for life that’s contagious, and this next celebration is rampantly joyful. I’m talking confetti filled mornings, champagne fueled toasts, and elegant florals that’ll have you boldly bookmarking. It’s an ode to traditional complete with Greek touches that’ll leave you captivated. Amy & Jordan snapped every second in the gallery and it’s all right here!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/133493698 600 338]

From Amy & JordanThe Omni Montelucia, in Paradise Valley, Arizona, was the perfect venue for this darling couple that have an amazing zest for life. Ashley Gain designed an absolutely gorgeous day for Jena and Chris, and with incredible florals by Carte Blanche, it was a dream!

“Are you having fun?!” she asked us. All. Day. Long. You see, that’s Jena. From the moment we sat down with her and Chris over coffee almost one year ago to talk about her Montelucia wedding, we could see that she lived fun inside and out. She’s got a zest for life that’s contagious. There was even a mini celebration with her girls, the morning of her wedding, complete with confetti and champagne! She just has a joyfulness that runs rampant everywhere she goes. She’s energetic and positive, outgoing and hilarious. She’s Greek, and it’s obvious.

And Chris? He’s the ballast. The flip side of the coin. Calm, cool, and collected. And kind. So kind. The kind of kind that bumps into another groom at the same venue just minutes before they’re supposed to see their brides for the first time and says, “Hey, man, have you seen your ceremony setup yet? It looks great! Come check it out!” It was a pretty cool sight to see, two grooms seeing each other before seeing their brides, congratulating each other on an awesome occasion, not knowing each other moments before and unlikely to ever meet or cross paths again. Chris is that kind of kind. And this wedding had so much laughter, so much joy!

This couple live life to the fullest and reminds those around them to live in the moment and make every minute count. That’s the Greek in them both. Because, after all, the word “opa!” means stop. Celebrate. You’re right where you’re supposed to be.

Southwest Inspired Rehearsal Dinner at The Historic El Chorro Lodge

Margaritas and merriment are the ultimate pairing and this rehearsal dinner shot by Brushfire Photography has got me wishing for another round. With Victoria Canada Weddings And Events behind the scenes crafting every colorful moment, the evening was complete with cinnamon churros and a Southwestern sunset. It’s a gallery worth toasting and you can see it all here!

From Victoria Canada Weddings & EventsA vibrant and festive rehearsal dinner was the perfect setting for an LA couple getting married in Phoenix, Arizona. Michelle, a Native Arizonian along with her Groom, wanted to highlight the desert elements they both loved. Both Bride and Groom attended the University of Arizona but met and fell in love in Los Angeles. The Bride and Groom envisioned a fun but sophisticated party to kick off an epic wedding weekend. Victoria Canada of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events worked together with the Mother of the Bride- a talented interior designer to develop the perfect palette.

Guests enjoyed cocktails with the breathtaking view of Camelback Mountain at the Historic El Chorro Lodge- nestled in the exclusive Paradise Valley area. Sipping Prickly Pear margaritas or for the more daring guests-Jalepeno Infused Margaritas as a Spanish guitarist entertained them was quite the welcome. Guests picked up their escort cards that were based off the traditional Mexican Fiesta Banners and ate a family style dinner in the intimate courtyard. Bistro Lights strung overhead lent a romantic glow. Mixing the beautiful patterned linen from La Tavola with colorful custom Serape Runners Victoria Canada Commissioned were the perfect backdrop for the colorful potted flowers.

The dinner was held in the grass courtyard, part of the original 1930’s structure at El Chorro. Green chili Enchiladas, Short Ribs and Tamales were topped off with Traditional Mexican Wedding Cookies and Cinnamon Churros. Toasts abound. Margaritas and Mexican Beers raised to toast the bride and groom- the perfect kick off fiesta!

Romantic & Intimate Foodie Wedding Inspiration

Foodie brides everywhere, get ready to feed your wedding appetite with this gorgeous inspiration shoot from Elyse Hall Photography. Inspired by Arizona’s newest wedding venue, The Chef’s Kitchen & Herb Garden at Omni Scottsdale Resort, the vendors behind this beauty worked together to showcase the intimate space with a lush tablescape, gorgeous linens from La Tavola and romantic, organic florals. Satisfy your daily wedding cravings here.

Colors

From Elyse Hall PhotographyThe Montelucia is one of the most enchanting and lovely destinations in Arizona to have a wedding! Recently they debuted a new wedding and event venue called Chef’s Kitchen. The concept behind this lovely new event space is to provide a location for intimate romantic weddings that reflect an organic and natural feel. This is appropriately named Chefs Kitchen, as all of the herbs and utensils used by the in-house Chef come straight from his personal kitchen and herb garden. During the design process, the resort also drew inspiration from the great Julia Child – whose kitchen aesthetic was demonstrative and accessible – with refined French undertones and accents. Guests truly receive a one-of-a-kind experience when in this space.

Showcasing this new venue was truly an honor for all of the collaborators involved. We wanted to accent the French/Provence theme in the design and decor. We started by placing a long rustic wood table in the kitchen, with European-inspired cross back chairs. Cart Blanche draped it with a beautiful lush garland that spanned then entire table with the most perfect white garden rose arrangements and different greenery flowing out of the garland. It was so dreamy, especially the candles interwoven with the garland. To bring in the natural French vibe, gorgeous blue china was used atop the table with mis-matching patterns. Each setting was accented with gorgeous chargers, glassware and flatware from EventRents. Creating a paper menu that reflected our French vision paired with the wood signage and foliage was a perfect combination. We also used blue glass stemware, which was a perfect touch. Across the room, the Chef’s butcher block counter top was covered in an array of delicious cheeses, meats and desserts- showcasing the amazing cuisine the resort has to offer.

Right away we knew we wanted an amazing cake that looked delicious and natural. We opted for a “naked” or lightly frosted cake, which lent itself to our organic overall feeling. As always, Ruze Cake House did a spectacular job in their execution. The Large white flowers, olive leaves and fresh berries as well as the large warmly lit candles helped to create a romantic vibe. The ‘Best Day Ever’ cake topper by Page & Mason Invitations was a perfect touch.

One of our favorite components is the Hydration Station. Being in the Valley of the Sun, this amenity is so necessary at every wedding. This is a design element that is fun to play around with – with endless options to bring in clever ideas. We wanted to stay within our organic vibe and go for variations of fresh lemonade and water with different natural additives like lemon and mint. The rich blue and green floral La Tavola linen was the perfect piece to pull this vignette together.

The ceremony site was enchanting and romantic. The perfectly paired garland and roses felt like an arch straight out of a French garden. Exactly what we wanted. The view of our famous Camelback Mountain was a perfect blend to top off the lovely shoot.

Our Models could not have been more perfect! The bride’s hombre hair was flawlessly done in loose curls and pulled half way up. I love the way the headpiece sat on the edge of her crown. The long billowy cathedral veil was such a gorgeous addition. The lace dress had a French organic feeling we were all in love with. Paired with a black tux and bow tie for the perfect look.

From Rachel Solomon… This bright and colorful, Mexican heritage inspired Arizona wedding is a stunner! With amazing florals including tons of air plants, an incredible desert inspired cake, a picturesque ceremony backdrop, adorable hand-lettered coaster escort cards, and a fabulous Hayley Paige gown via Kleinfeld, this wedding is sure to be a unique favorite.

From the Bride… When we boarded the plane to NYC, a part of me prayed and hoped that this trip would be our engagement trip. On that trip I was on edge, and before I knew it Tommy was on one knee at Ladies Pavilion in Central Park. Before I could wipe my tears, 15 of our family and friends were there to celebrate and more importantly to begin the planning process! Could I really plan a day I had been waiting for my whole life? The answer was yes, and a venue and dress were selected in 48 hours.

I have watched Kleinfeld’s “Say Yes to the Dress,” every Friday since I was in high school, so when I had an appointment the next day, I wished for a long workout to fit in my dream dress! I had been following designer Hayley Paige for months, which was a secret to Tommy! Several dresses later my dream dress was before me and fit perfectly, it was everything I wanted and really drove our planning for our dream wedding, classy, romantic, intimate and a little bit sexy.

After we traveled back to Phoenix, Tommy and I stopped at El Chorro. We gleamed with excitement, from the gorgeous green Casa Paloma Lawn with views of Camelback Mountain, to the intimate all-white reception space. I knew decorating the space wouldn’t take much since this venue was classy and beautiful all on it’s own.

Because Tommy’s family was not going to be able to attend, I wanted to highlight the beautiful Southwest scenery and tie in his Mexican heritage. With a little consideration, I decided that we were going to throw a Classy Fiesta. I let Tommy have full control on the selection of a Mariachi Band. I think it’s safe to say he knocked it out of the park! After talking to Hoot and Holler, I knew I wanted bright colored flowers with white vases. I pinned and saved multiple pictures with crepe paper and arches covered in a variety of colorful flowers. I thought all of these arches reminded me of Tuxpan (where Tommy is from), where we visited two summers ago. The lush green landscape mixed with every color of the rainbow was exactly how I remembered that summer.

The Southwest/Mexican theme carried over to our cake topper, and into our picado flags that were in some of the cocktail hour centerpieces. I knew I wanted two cacti on the top of our cake, one to represent myself and another for my handsome groom. Jessi at Ruze Cake House came up with the idea to tie in Arizona State University for the adorable bow tie. The picado flags also reminded me of the art market while visiting the Ruins in Mexico. I searched on Etsy and found AyMujer who made our personalized flags!

After the venue and flowers were selected, all other details started to fall into place, and almost every detail pointed to making it personal. We wanted our guests to get to know us better, to feel the love, and be able to remember their own love stories. These details were found in our ceremony programs from B is Brown sharing information about how our relationship started, to Autumn Matney’s custom chalkboard coasters as escort cards for our guests. While our guest list topped over 200, we wanted each one of our guests to feel like they were the only ones in the room surrounded by love and a great time.

The only detail I struggled to capture were the accessories to accompany my dream dress, and I think this was so difficult because I couldn’t ask Tommy for his opinion. I looked and looked and looked, in fact it seemed like it was the only detail I wasn’t confident about until I found Lindsay Marie Bridal off of Kleinfeld’s Instagram. I stumbled upon a hair piece I loved and I instantly emailed the designer and owner, with an accompanying picture of my dress to help inspire. She made earrings and a hairpiece to match the Hayley Paige opal stones perfectly. After the accessories arrived, we were four weeks out and all our details were complete for our classy intimate wedding.

Our wedding would not have been what it was without the amazing support of our families and friends, and the creative coordination of Elizabeth Rush from Imoni Events.

All our details were captured perfectly from our videographer and photographer, Forever Films and Rachel Solomon Photography. Tommy and I felt at ease and wished to do it over and over! Because of their collaboration and flawless execution of our creative details, we were able to enjoy all the sweet and joyous moments of our beautiful day!

From The Bride… I spent much of my childhood visiting family members in Arizona, and always held fond memories of the beauty the desert spring holds. When it came time to plan our wedding, Paradise Valley came up as the perfect location — allowing us to make a weekend of our wedding to spend more time with our closest friends and family. When Matthew and I first set foot in Casa Paloma at El Chorro, we new our search was done. The venue is so classic Arizona, and the view of Camelback Mountain in the background of the lawn was picturesque. We decided to allow the desert to provide much of the color, and stuck with a very neutral color palate – blush, nude, metallics, and a pop of navy so that Matthew could wear his traditional Air Force Mess Dress. Our wonderful vendors are really the ones who deserve the praise for pulling off my vision, as I was forced to plan from 850 miles away in Oklahoma. Late night phone calls, early morning e-mails — they definitely took my scattered ideas and formed a beautiful evening that Matthew and I will cherish for the rest of our lives.

From Daniel Kim Photography… The inspiration for this shoot came from the venue which features beautiful mission style architecture and an amazing desert backdrop. When people think desert, they think of dirt, rocks, and sand with brown and tan colors. We wanted to draw our color palette from the flowers and fruits that grow from the native cactus and plants, such as saguaro and prickly pear pink fruits, mint greens from agave and barrel cacti. Our florist Randi of Carte Blanche Design created the prettiest centerpiece, bouquet and hairpiece using vibrant colors (blush, light pink, and magenta) that complemented the season & surroundings which was filled with bougainvillea, olive trees, and desert plants.

From A Day To CherishJeff and Kacey’s wedding at El Chorro Lodge was a perfect reflection of the two of them. It was understated and elegant at the same time, a bit rustic and very Arizona. They said their vows under a beautiful birch arbor accented with peach and coral flowers and a stunning mountain backdrop. The groom and his men in their seersucker suits (and mismatched ties) were the perfect compliment to the bright coral of the bridesmaid dresses and showed off Jeff’s individual style perfectly. As the night wore on, guests enjoyed a spectacular dinner and were invited outside to dance under the stars while enjoying an array of cookies and their choice of gelato fresh from the cart. Guest left the evening with their own jar of Jeff and Kacey’s favorite chopped cherry jam, something that they enjoyed together on their first date.

From The Bride….Our story started eleven years ago. Cory and I met in high school, when I was a freshman and he was a sophomore. Our first date was to play miniature golf with a couple of friends. We dated for four years before we separated. The next few years apart were filled with joyous success and heartbreaking loss, of graduating from high school and then from college. And then came the unexpected invitation to meet up for drinks. It didn’t take long before we knew that this time we weren’t going to let each other get away.

Cory and I got engaged in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on October 10, 2013. We went for a weeklong vacation with Cory’s family. On the second night, Cory and I planned for a walk on the beach, at sunset, before dinner. In my regular fashion, I took longer than expected to get ready and Cory kept insisting we had to leave. As we started down the beach hand in hand Cory said “You know how much I love you, right?” And I did know. All of the sudden we stopped, Cory got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. Side note- the ring was stunning. We wrote our names in the sand before joining his family at dinner to celebrate.

We wanted a casual wedding with all the things we love most. The warm, sunny afternoon in Paradise Valley was just made for family, food, and dancing. We had a guest list of 125, with most traveling great distances to share in our special day. El Chorro offered a lush ceremony lawn with an intimate garden feel. I wanted to incorporate touches of vintage decor and was inspired by the charming chandeliers in the Casa Paloma pavilion. Blush pink, peach and coral came together in the bow ties, dresses, and flowers. I managed to surprise Cory by having our English bulldog, Banks, walk down the aisle with our ring-bearer. We asked our high school counselor, and long-time friend, to perform the ceremony. Guests spent cocktail hour enjoying drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres with good friends and family. We finished the night off with dinner, dancing, and cake- with peanut butter filling, of course!

It really was the best day ever.

I have this thing where I get an idea in my head only to find out that it doesn’t exist in a store, so I knew that DIY touches were going to be a must. El Chorro is beautiful on its own, a big reason we picked the venue, and so it didn’t need too much dressing up. Our guest book was a wishing tree made from branches that our guests adorned with their wishes on kraft paper tags. Minted offers guest name printing on place cards, so I bought them already printed and added a strip of gold glitter washi tape across the bottom of each one. The rustic hutch provided the perfect spot for a candy bar, decorated with tissue paper garland and a sweets banner both crafted by my talented mom. Other DIY projects included the cards banner, guest seating chart lists, and memorial candle for Cory’s mom. Thanks to the amazing support of our friends and family these small details made our wedding intimate and personal and something neither of us will ever forget.

Simple, Elegant Wedding in Paradise Valley

The difference between rain ruining and not ruining a wedding is all in the attitude. You can cry and add to the amassing water on the ground, or you can grab your Hunter boots, head to the tent, and party anyway! Take a cue from this bride whose outlook is as charming as her tasteful bouquets and craft beer spread. We’ll also take it the water didn’t hurt Elyse Hall Photography‘s camera.  Get the full gallery here.

From the bride… Kyle and I got married on November 23, 2013 in Paradise Valley, Arizona. It very rarely rains during the winter in the desert, but as luck would have it our wedding weekend now holds the record for second wettest November weekend in Arizona history. Because we had planned to have both our ceremony and reception outside, the week leading up to the wedding was extremely stressful. But despite the last minute changes that had to be made as a result of the weather, our vendors worked extremely hard to make sure our special day was what I had always dreamed it would be…

Kyle and I fatefully met through mutual friends while we were both living in California after college. It was love at first sight for him; I needed a little more convincing. On our first date he took me to Toy Story 3 and didn’t give me a hard time for crying at the cartoon movie; that is when I knew he was someone special. We dated for three years and enjoyed everything Los Angeles had to offer, but being an Arizona girl I was ready to move home. As our love was stronger than anything else, my wonderful future husband agreed to move with me. We got engaged on December 21, 2012. While others remember this day as the prediction for the end of the world (according to the Mayan calendar), for me it was the beginning of my new life.

My mom and I quickly became busy with wedding planning. I wanted to make every detail very personal: from getting ready at my parents’ house to incorporating things Kyle and I love into every aspect of the ceremony and reception. As a result “simple elegance” became the theme for our wedding. I envisioned having everything outside everything outside and dancing the night away with my prince charming under the beautiful Arizona stars. We also wanted people to leave the wedding feeling like they knew more about us than they did before. Instead of doing traditional table numbers, we used cities that had important meanings to Kyle and me (which my mom made!). Kyle loves beer so one of the bars was dedicated to craft brews. The other bars had signature drinks with our favorite cocktails. We had photos of us on the cocktail tables in place of traditional flower arrangements. The whole day was very much us.

Though the weather threatened to interfere with our big day, the rain actually made it all the more magical. As guests arrived, apple cider and hot chocolate was served to keep them warm until the commencement of the ceremony. And as I prepared to walk down the aisle the skies parted just long enough to allow us to keep the ceremony outside against the backdrop of the iconic Camelback Mountain. After cocktails, everyone moved into the reception tent. Thousands of lights were draped around the tent and crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling. It was breathtaking. Dinner was served, toasts were given, some tears were shed, and then the party started. People got on the dance floor and didn’t leave until the music stopped. It was everything Kyle and I had wanted and so much more—not even the rain could keep us from dancing under the “stars.” So to all future bride out there who get rain on their wedding day: I promise what they say is true, it is lucky!

Paradise Valley Wedding from Stephanie Fay Photography + Victoria Canada Weddings and Events

Any self-proclaimed SMP bride holds a special spot in our hearts. The reason we do what we do (aside from our extreme obsession with everything pretty, chic, and matrimonial) is for you. For the bride who spends her lunch hour scouring our galleries, reading our archives, and perusing our Pinterest. We’re happy to do it, and all we ask in return are a few pictures of your big day. Especially if it’s planned by one of our fab LBBers like Victoria Canada Weddings and Events. And extra especially if Stephanie Fay Photography captured about a million “to-die-for” moments.

If you’re not quite done, you’re in luck. I Do Films has a beautiful highlight film for us!

From the planner… Megan and Adam’s dream modern wedding was anything but ordinary. It was not a typical wedding- it was a beautiful ballroom wedding with a cohesive color story with the main color a rich blue. The same day edit film is just breathtaking!

Adam’s smile and sense of humor won Megan over that night they met. One year later they were happily engaged. Adam surprised Megan with a trip to Napa that she’s always dreamed of. He proposed with a custom ring that he designed for her on a walk at the Tournesal winery. Just like their engagement, they wanted their wedding be fun and flawless. They hired Victoria Canada Weddings and Events to help organize their perfect day. Victoria designed a stylish and elegant setting with a modern feel utilizing of a brighter navy blue and crisp whites and soft grays at the Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

The ceremony backdrop was the infamous and naturally beautiful Camelback Mountain. The reception took place in the in the Spanish inspired Valencia Ballroom at the Montelucia resort and spa. The gentlemen lounged by the pool outside the 3,000 + square foot Camelback Suite also used for the brunch on Sunday. The Ladies ate a light lunch and lounged in custom robes in the Andalusian Presidential Suite. The brightly lit space was filled with music and laughter and a perfect way to stat a wedding day.

Megan and Adam knew right away they wanted to get married at the Four Diamond Intercontinental Montelucia Resort and Spa. They have spent many brunches with their families here and fell in love with the venue. Megan wanted to bring in a unique design with a personalized quatrefoil pattern. The bride is an avid SMP reader and gained inspiration from numerous Style Me Pretty Weddings. It quickly turned into her “wedding planning go-to”. In Megan’s own words “I wanted my décor and design to lend itself to the resort, not compete with it. I absolutely loved the beautiful shade of blue tile in the resort’s gorgeous spanish fountains. So much so, that I decided to highlight this blue – not quite navy, not quite cobalt…a beautiful in-between – as the primary color throughout my wedding, with a simple background of white and pops of gray. Adam and I both love clean lines and a modern aesthetic. We used quatrefoil patterns as a nod to the Spanish Moroccan feel of the resort, and paired it with simple, modern fonts and text to keep the feeling contemporary.”

What made Megan’s wedding one of a kind was the branding of the wedding from start to finish. In Megan’s own words “My absolute favorite design element from our wedding had to be our quatrefoil monogram. I am a sucker for anything personalized, so being able to “brand” our wedding with customized items – the drink stirrers, laser engraved wine box, napkins, menus, cake stand, dance floor, etc. – made it feel that much more special and unique”

Before the wedding began, the guests were greeted at their hotel with a custom jute hotel bag that included all things Arizona such as Arizona Iced Tea, locally made Poore Brothers Potato chips, local Mexican chips and salsa, and Arizona sunscreen. It also included a hangover kit so they were prepared for the day after the wedding. The bags were large enough to be used at the pool and was a great ice breaker for guests lounging to know who was there for the wedding.

-Before the ceremony, the beautiful Gemma dress by Vera Wang hung on a Monogrammed “Mrs. Livingston” Hanger. She chose the Gemma dress because she loves how mermaid dresses accentuate a women and thought the dress was “artistic and dramatic, yet still soft and ethereal”.
-At the ceremony they had a Wine box with love letters to be placed inside- On their first anniversary they will enjoy the wine and read the letters. Wine is very symbolic to them because of their engagement in Napa.
-The seating cards were delicious chocolates completely customized from Rogue confections. With several different patterns the chocolate had patterns that had been used on the various paper products. Each Chocolate had a table number on them and were placed on a seating card with their name written by a local calligrapher. When you picked up your chocolate there is a hidden message for the guests! “Love is Sweet”
-Custom cocktail napkins with their initials monogrammed
-Monogrammed swizzle sticks and color coordinated straws
-They had their own signature drink which was a Prickly Pear Margarita representative of our Southwestern Flair
-Megan loved the idea of having a poster for the guests to sign because “I really wanted a momento of our guests that we could admire on a daily basis, rather than have tucked away on a shelf, so the custom made poster was a perfect choice” It was a gift from a guest that had their wedding date and was reminiscent of a vintage movie poster.
-Flip flops for the ladies with torturous high heels complete with a sign that said “Kick off your heels and Dance the Night Away!”
-Instagram sign #thelivingstons so friends and family could share their wedding!
-The Cake made by Piece of Cake desserts was solid white with a flower design, stood on a one of a kind monogrammed stand hand papered by the stationer.
-Custom etched champagne Flutes
-Monogram vinyl on white dance floor
-“Adams Cigars under the stars” which was a cigar roller with custom labels outside with lounge area for the men and some ladies. Enjoying a cigar at the end of the night with Camelback Mountain.
-Reverse happy hour that included hot dogs and sliders were a nice treat to the dancing guests!
-The lounge area had Decor monogrammed pillows that the couple later used in their new home.
-Letterpress invitations with a mix of patterns.
-Stunning mix of high and low sleek centerpieces.
-custom bars with high tables and tall Chameleon Chairs for guests to mix and mingle at an alternative setting vs. at guest tables.
-“Live” photo booth with props and a fun party favor for the guests! This crew was a big University of Arizona crowd and the props were all about the Wildcats!
-Same Day Edit from I Do Films. We had two TV’s with a resting screen with their monogram and some looping engagement photos. After the same day edit was completed we looped it at the bars for the remainder of the evening.
