This wedding is so much more than what the title leads… but you have to admit, these little ladies almost steal the show. Probably, no, absolutely THE cutest flower girl portrait I’ve ever seen. Their Bride? Well, she is a thing of beauty. The entire day is actually, thanks to Atelier De LaFleur. With imagery captured by Daniel Kim and a film crafted by Carl S. This Heavenly Bridal Inspo Shows There’s Beauty in the Ashes

Rackel Gehlsen Weddings + Events and a team of Arizona vendors created this bridal inspiration session, and it is absolutely heavenly. The theme of the shoot, “the essence of divine beauty,” couldn’t have been more perfectly executed, as they created breathtaking vignettes at The Monroe Abbey, a historical church left to ruin after a fire in the ’80s. Katrina Patriquin Photography brought it all to life, and the enchanting photos are waiting to sweep you away right here.

“The essence of divine beauty” was the inspiration for this shoot at the historical Monroe Abbey in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. After a fire in 1986, the church was left in ruin, but by combining soft and romantic elements with pastel textures, we gave light to the beauty that lies within.

As the early morning glow filled the courtyard, Katina Patriquin Photography set in to capture every detail. Rackel Gehlsen Weddings & Events designed the storyboards to show dreamy hues of blue and grey mixed with sterling silver and angelic white for the overall concept. The blue velvet chairs from Prim Rentals were the perfect addition to the tablescape, and Alexis Grace Florals created an organic centerpiece full of greenery with mink protea, cappuccino garden roses, majolica spray roses, scabiosa, figs, and cascading grapes. The Bride’s bouquet was a similar collection of floral designed to complement the Monique Lhuillier gown. Brie Dumais Designs created a custom invitation suite enhanced with gold foil and TONO ribbon, finished with a wax seal. She also added personal wedding vows, which our model read at the table. We added a light grey velvet Mrs. Box, which is the perfect accessory to a Bride’s wedding day.

Margarita GoDiva and I Do Hair + Makeup Artistry along with one of the lead artists, Raemie,  gave our model a natural look with just a soft wave to the hair and nude toned makeup to go with the Monique Lhuillier gown from Destiny’s Bride. The movement of this exquisite gown was absolutely magical, and as we were shooting, the wind would suddenly pick up the veil as if it were floating. As we walked the staircase to the upstairs, the sun had filled the room with a heavenly light. In the center, a circular garland of greenery surrounded by crystal taper candles was the final setting created for our shoot. This was the moment we had been hoping for as all of the elements came together so beautifully. It was the essence of our vision, a dream that came to life.

This Scottsdale Venue is So Pretty, You Would Swear It Was Tuscany

Destination weddings come in all shapes and sizes and this Scottsdale gem is proving you don’t have to travel all the way to Europe to capture that old world charm. With the help of Imoni Events and Sarah’s Garden, the Silverleaf Country Club was transformed into a bright, floral filled celebration with major Tuscany vibes. Take a peek at the full day so beautifully captured by Rachel Solomon, plus a film by Bright Bokeh below.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/225134683 600 338]

From the bride…Because we are both born and raised in Oklahoma, Colby and I were always asked a lot, “So why Scottsdale?” Since the beginning of our relationship, the two of us have always visited Scottsdale with my parents. I remember we were at an outdoor spring concert at Silverleaf in April 2015, and I was absolutely sold on that venue after that night (even if we did have to wait 18 months for the perfect wedding date). The venue is absolutely stunning, and the breathtaking views don’t hurt either.

When it came to the planning of the big day, we took full advantage of the 18 month engagement and we planned in stages. We made a handful of visits out to Scottsdale from Oklahoma throughout the process and each visit was so productive, thanks to the amazing team at Imoni Events. From the first meeting sitting down with Jenni, she absolutely NAILED my vision. She had collaborated with my Pinterest board and created a vision board that nearly had me in tears it was so perfect. Every single vendor they recommended was perfection and helped to make the day as dreamy as I had imagined. I can say that I had little to no stress during the entire process, and I couldn’t be more appreciative of that.

The beauty of Silverleaf Country Club speaks for itself, so I knew I wanted to stay away from any “bold” colors or decisions. Gold, rose gold and greenery are just so timeless, and that is what took precedence when making all of our decisions. I think it also helped to accentuate the stunningness of Sarah’s Garden’s floral arrangements. I also had so much fun selecting all of the eclectic cocktail furniture from Prim Rentals, it was almost like building my own little dollhouse garden.

Another popular question I got throughout the process was “As a photographer, how do you choose one for your own wedding?” The answer to this question was so easy–just take a look at Rachel Solomon’s body of work. I randomly found an image of hers on Pinterest before we even got engaged and the Monday after he proposed I had an email out to her. I thought she might think I was a little cooky booking her so far out, but I knew what I wanted! We flew out about one year before our big day to shoot our engagement photos and the turnout just solidified my decision even more.

Colby and I can both confidently say, it was THE best day of our lives. I am just in awe from the photos from that day and I will absolutely cherish them forever.

This Wedding Captures the Best of the Copper Craze

Inspired by the Arizona landscape, Alli and Josh’s al fresco celebration held in the Country Club at DC Ranch exudes effortless style. The key? A warm, copper palette carried through from the stationery to the floral vessels, plus plenty of succulents expertly incorporated throughout the day by Butterfly Petals. If you’re loving the copper craze as much as we are, head to the Vault to see all the snaps of this desert vibe wedding, captured by Melissa Jill Photography.

From Melissa Jill Photography After two years of spending all of their time off traveling to friends’ weddings, Alli and Josh needed a break! When they finally had a chance to take a real vacation together, they made it count – they took a glorious trip to Belize! Unfortunately, they weren’t the only ones enjoying the beauty of Belize, and though they tried for several days to find a pier where they could be alone to enjoy the view, other people were always around. So when they finally came across a pier with no one in sight one day after breakfast, they were thrilled! They relaxed on the end of the pier, feet dangling over the side, and admired the crystal clear water and blue sky. Josh decided to take advantage of the opportunity. After a lot of conversation and one excited fish sighting, Josh took a deep breath and looked over at Alli. Surrounded by the beauty of the Caribbean and holding a tiny box in his hand, he said, “I wouldn’t change anything about this trip…except to have you as my wife.”

For their wedding style, Josh and Alli drew inspiration from the Arizona desert, creating a clean, modern look with succulents and touches of copper. The Country Club at DC Ranch offered a beautiful desert backdrop for the ceremony, where large succulents in metallic containers lined the aisle. A wooden arch draped in flowers, and gauzy white fabric lent an air of romance. The reception was held outdoors in a charming stone courtyard, where the copper tones of the flatware and centerpieces reflected the warmth of the Arizona sun. The guests dined and danced under the stars.

It was a dream come true to photograph Josh and Alli’s wedding! Not only are they incredible people in their own right, but I photographed Alli’s sister’s wedding nine years ago. It’s such a blessing to connect with a family again and again over the years!

Two Grooms from New York City Wed at Rancho de los Caballeros

My friends, be ready for the tears to well up. Be ready for your heart to swell and for your morning to be filled with the sweetest love of two Grooms who vowed their forevers to each other at beautiful Rancho de los Caballeros. Thanks to Black Sheep Filmworks, I’ve already gone through a dozen tissues—but I’m smiling wider today because of these two.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/200234379 600 338]

From Black Sheep FilmworksTwo grooms enter on horseback, proceeded by a life-sized cut-out of their Aussie Cattle Dog, Fanny, acting as a cardboard canine bridesmaid. Yes, this is just a small aspect of the larger than life real wedding of Isaac and Philip. NYC residents both, but Philip is a Tucson, AZ native, so they both heeded the call to create a Wild West destination wedding, and Rancho de los Caballeros in Wickenberg, AZ was the perfect spot. They took over the ranch for the weekend, had a cowboy cookout rehearsal dinner, followed by a rousing piano bar sing-a-long in the ranch house. A rap toast by Philip’s brother, Noah, was a crowd favorite “It’s based on a story true, and long, long overdue…one thing led to another led to a breakfast burrito and a money clip…say special thanks to Grinder and the Supreme Court of the USA..” This was followed by rousing applause, and a few tears. The love and pride in that room was palpable, and was indicative of the wedding day’s many amazing moments to come.

The wedding day dawned bright and clear, guests played golf, rode horses and shot skeet…and applied lots of sunscreen. Isaac and Philip got ready together, helped tie each other’s bow ties, took a few photos and then were off to the ceremony. The guest’s reaction to Fanny being walked down the aisle, albeit in paper form, were priceless, as were their “Ooohs and aaahhhs” to the groom’s entering the ceremony on horseback. Oh, and the vows. And what the officiants said…some of the best, most honest, truly loving words at a wedding, ever. The broke a glass, kissed and walked off into a gorgeous desert sunset with an epic full moon rising in the distance.

The alfresco reception was full of loving, funny and sentimental toasts, and Fanny was seated at the foot of the head table, as if she were listening to every word. The dancing was in a word, epic, the hora had everyone on the dance floor, where they stayed until the wee hours. Even Fanny made a few trips to shake her doggy booty.

The following day was spent brunching, poolside, and reminiscing about the wedding weekend. This included a make-your-own-burrito bar, a tribute to the guys’ first date, and the breakfast burrito
Isaac presented to Philip when he proposed.

Noah’s rap toast concluded as follows: “So, consider this a toast, to whatever brought us together; to life, love and health, to my two brothers, forever.” Two dudes, one ranch…love is love.

A Color Happy Affair in the Arizona Desert

With friends and family traveling from Texas, Lindsay and Whit knew a “mini-destination” wedding in Arizona would be just the escape their guests needed. They set to work planning a lush, colorful, vibrant celebration while playing on Paradise Valley’s natural scenery of desert and mountain beauty. Rachel Solomon and Something New Media came on board to document the day and you can watch it all unfold from beginning to end.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/213946878 600 338]

From the bride… Whit and I met at a SuperBowl party in February of 2012. Our conversation was fun and effortless and we learned that we had several mutual friends, but the spark was just not initially there for me. We lost touch for several months after that and went our separate ways – he moved to Nebraska while I stayed in Texas – but thankfully, we reconnected in September of 2012 when I learned that he was a groomsman in a wedding that I would be attending the following February. Since we lived in different states, we began texting all day long, talking on the phone every single night, and spent as many weekends as we could to visit each other. We survived a two-year long distance relationship and after we both finished graduate school, we decided to settle down in Texas in the summer of 2014.

Whit and I got engaged at the Camelback Inn in Paradise Valley, AZ on December 27th, 2015. I was hoping Whit would propose when we were visiting my family for Christmas that year. Many of my friends were beginning to get engaged and married, and I was just dreaming about when it would finally be our turn. Little did I know, Whit had taken a day off work and flew to Scottsdale a few weeks prior to the proposal. During his quick 12-hour visit to my hometown, he picked up my engagement ring at Oliver Smith Jeweler and started hunting for wedding venues with my parents and grandmother! Whit also scouted out the perfect spot to propose to me, in front of Camelback Mountain.

Whit and I stayed in Scottsdale through New Year’s Eve and began planning our springtime wedding in Arizona, the most beautiful time of year. Although we had a 15-month long engagement, we had most of our wedding vendors and details planned out by March of 2016. We felt lucky that we had tackled all of the “big stuff” pretty early on because that March also happened to be the same time we learned that we were expecting a baby flower girl in November of that year. We welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world a week before Thanksgiving, and she quickly stole our hearts and the hearts of all of our guests as my mom carried her down the aisle on March 18th, 2017, our wedding day!

When the wedding planning began in late December of 2015, Whit and I decided that we were going to have a “mini-destination wedding” in Arizona (considering most of our guests would be traveling from Texas). We chose to have our ceremony at Brophy Chapel since I graduated from Xavier College Preparatory in 2008, and we just knew our reception had to be at El Chorro! The desert landscape and breathtaking mountain views were the perfect scenery for our wedding.

My vision for our wedding theme was a romantic garden with some Arizona desert flair. My mom, Karen Hoffman, worked an endless amount of hours tying all of the details of our theme together, with the help of our planner, Christine Southerland. Randi Eshelman of Carte Blanche Design made my floral dreams come true, from the greenery that dressed the ceiling pipes in Casa Paloma to adding blue thistle and succulents into my hot pink bridal bouquet! The bright floral arrangements accompanied by the blue table linens from La Tavola Fine Linen added so much life and color to Casa Paloma at El Chorro.

Other details that made our wedding unique were our custom floral invitations and monogram designed by Jacki Miller of Foil & Ink; a special song (“Isn’t She Lovely”) dedicated to our daughter during the reception from Shining Star Band; Whit’s Death Star groom’s cake and the cactus cookie favors for our guests (with gold embossed monogram tags done by my mom) from Ruze Cake House; our wooden welcome sign, which was created by Autumn Matney; the groomsmen’s baby blue dotted bow ties from The Tie Bar; and my “something old”! Oliver Smith Jeweler designed all of the jewelry that I wore on our wedding day, except for my ruby cross, which was my something old passed all the way down from my great-great-grandmother.

I recently learned that my great-great-grandfather found this beautiful family heirloom on the ground in a park in Poland in the early 1900’s. The cross was given to my Babcia (my grandma), who wore it on her wedding day. She passed it down to my mother, who wore it on her wedding day, and now I got the privilege of wearing the cross on my wedding day. I am so looking forward to the day when I can place this cross around my own daughter’s neck just like my mom did for me!

Everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and I am so thankful we chose the amazingly talented Rachel Solomon to photograph our wedding, as well as Something New Media who filmed our special day. Both Rachel and Something New Media have allowed us to relive our special day over and over again through the truly beautiful images they captured. We feel like we hit the jackpot with our wedding vendors and we wish we could play our wedding day on repeat, but for now, Whit and I will just enjoy watching our wedding film with our baby girl!

Middle School Sweethearts Tie the Knot 14 Years Later

You might recognize the bride, Emily as one-half of the Chicago blogging duo, Walton & Rush and you better believe she brought her stylish sensibilities to every detail of the big day. Emily married her middle school sweetheart, Kurt surrounded by a lush Arizona landscape for a destination wedding their guests will never forget. Andrea Leslie planned, Leslie D. Photography captured, and we’re diving into all the goods right this way.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/210894298 600 338]

This was a romantic, sweet celebration of two middle school sweethearts finally tying the knot. Emily and Kurt have been together since the 7th grade, and their wedding marked 14 years together. They currently live in Chicago, but wanted to have their wedding in Arizona – back where their relationship began. Arizona was a destination for a lot of guests, so they picked a venue that highlighted Arizona’s beautiful landscape – lined with palm trees and a gorgeous mountain backdrop.

Emily envisioned a garden theme for her wedding, with lots of greenery and lush, white floral. Her colors were dusty blue, white and gold – with lots of greenery. She wanted hints of the dusty blue color, and she incorporated it in the wedding sign, bridesmaid dresses, ribbon on invitations; even their cake was blue! To thank their guests for coming to their wedding, they kept with the Arizona theme, with blue cactus cookie favors from Ruze Cake House.

A Storm Didn’t Stop This Colorful Arizona Wedding

When a storm roles in just a few days before an outdoor wedding, most would end up panicked – but not this couple. Instead, with the help of Victoria Canada Weddings and Events, they acquired a beautiful, clear top tent for the ceremony. With its strings of lights, vibrant florals, and wildly beautiful photos by Rachel Solomon, this Arizona wedding is pure magic.

From the Bride… Blaise proposed to me in front of my entire family on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa (where my family is from). I soon found out that I was the only one who wasn’t in on the proposal, and I was swept off my feet! That day, my mom gave me a stack of bridal and wedding magazines so we could begin the planning. My mom and I had been dreaming of my wedding day since I was a little girl – and now we could finally plan the real thing!

When Blaise and I were asked by our wedding planner what we wanted on our wedding day, we both agreed that the most important thing was that everyone have the most fun time at our wedding. We are both pretty simple people; we didn’t want extra “stuff.” We just wanted everyone to be present with us in a beautiful setting and to share in our happiness.

We chose the Phoenix Country Club for our wedding because I have been going there since I was a kid, and it is a beautiful venue large enough for our 250 guests. I have always pictured myself getting married outdoors, but the weather forecast the week before the wedding said it would be cold and rainy. Our amazing wedding planner, Victoria Canada, told us not to worry and found the most beautiful tent for our outdoor ceremony just days before the wedding. It ended up being even more beautiful and magical than we could have ever imagined. The lights strung across the tent made it feel like we were getting married under the stars.

Our wedding was filled with bright and vibrant flowers overlaying rustic decor – it was truly dreamy. Blaise and I smiled so much our cheeks hurt. We are so grateful to everyone who made the day come together so flawlessly. Our amazing parents provided so much love and support, and our incredible team of vendors and Victoria Canada Weddings and Events made our dream a reality. I wish we could do it all again, but we have the amazing photos by Rachel Solomon to remember every detail.

From Victoria Canada Weddings and EventsGina and Blaise were such a fun couple. They were both on the same page along with Gina’s mom, so it was quite the fun, decisive, and creative wedding client team!

Gina wanted her florals to be bold but romantic. They felt lush and overflowing – a bit wild but had an elegant restraint. The wedding was in sunny Arizona, though Mother Nature had alternate plans. We had an epic storm come through 72 hours before the wedding, which made for a cold and windy day. We ultimately installed a clear top tent, and the end result was quite magical. I felt like it was a perfect little jewel box dripping with portofino lights, stunning floral installations, and a beautiful chuppah. The guests felt warm and cozy, and it was special for all in attendance to be present to this beautiful union.

We transformed the ballroom at Phoenix Country Club with a beautiful garden effect. We balanced the dark jade linen with the lightness of the drape. Florals entwined in the chandeliers over the dance floor for a botanical effect. It was truly magical, and we could not be happier for Gina and Blaise. They were amazing to work with and flexible with the weather options!

A Fresh Take on Pastels in the Arizona Desert

Carly and Chris knew they wanted a destination wedding in the Arizona desert right from the get-go. But long distance planning proved to be a little easier said than done. Luckily, they had an incredible vision and brought on just the right vendors to bring their effortlessly pretty celebration to life. From the color palette to the florals to the cactus motif and more, Elyse Hall didn’t miss a moment and we’re thoroughly swooning every last image.

From the Bride… Chris and I were both born and raised in Pennsylvania, but always fantasized about the intimate guest list, and possibly more predictable weather, of a destination wedding.  My mother and stepfather moved to Arizona 13 years ago, and ever since it has become more of a second home to me than anything else.  Lucky for me, my hubby-to-be also loves it there, so when the idea came up to host our special day in the desert, it immediately felt right.

I can’t quite remember if we chose Arizona generally first, or if the venue sealed the deal. Either way, I will never forget the first time I saw a photo online of El Chorro’s gorgeous ceremony lawn – it made my heart skip a beat. Much like the groom, the venue too was love at first sight. My advice on venues: Go with your gut. And, pick a place where you love their contact person. You will talk to them about everything, and often!

For our wedding vibe, I wanted our wedding to feel romantically effortless and magical. While scrolling through the vaults of SMP, I found myself gravitating toward “styled shoot weddings”. This was kind of ridiculous because not only are they not real, but they’re also designed to be perfect. This inspiration made me pay lots of attention to detail. I think I was also drawn to the small-scale size of the styled shoots, knowing our guest list would be around 60 and my ideas would be doable.

For our style and colors, I originally loved what you’d probably call “rustic chic blush/neutral weddings,” but was quickly bored by their popularity. So I went for an updated version with more of a dusty rose hue of pink and dressed up the rustic theme with some fancy velvet. For the flowers, we used mauve-toned quicksand and amnesia roses, with subtle touches of lavender and gray on a white and green background. It was still very neutral but not as predictable.

One major element of DIY for me was the invitations. Chris really wanted a cactus on our invites to showcase the desert destination.  It’s impossible to find a classy cactus, so I designed the suite myself and had them printed by a local letterpress printer in Pennsylvania. I printed the envelopes myself and added details to dress them up.

I hired a wedding planner (Caitlin at Outstanding Occasions) for final prep items, who was an incredible resource for recommendations, not to mention she ran the show on our wedding day. Because of her and my catering manager’s recommendations, I really had the best wedding team in Arizona. I could never have done this from a distance without these two ladies!  Before any planning began, even before our destination was chosen, I always knew I had to have an amazing photographer. After all, the photos are the one thing that will last forever! Elyse did an unbelievable job capturing our day.

Everyone warned me “on your day, there will be surprises.” And as if on cue, the train of my dress ripped 2 minutes before I walked down the aisle, literally.  Despite this little hiccup (my mother came prepared with pre-threaded needles), I was still so beyond happy on my wedding day. I think this was as much of a very real feeling as it was my conscious effort to be emotionally present.  The love I had for my new husband, and for every single guest, was exploding from my heart.  I think our excitement on our day was actually contagious because everyone seemed equally giddy.

After months of planning and hundreds of selections, it was hard for me to envision what the final result was going to look like. I made so many big decisions without any real design experience and just hoped the result would look somewhere close to how I pictured it in my head. When our big day came, I was speechless when I saw everything come together. I feel so lucky and so blessed to have been the bride on that special day.

A Wildly Romantic Wedding in the Arizona Desert

What began as a last-minute “plus one” to a wedding became a forever kind of love for Marian and Mark. And when they began planning their own big day, they knew showcasing the Arizona scenery was a top priority. A soft color palette and natural greens complemented the setting, and Rachel Solomon told the story of the day in stunning fashion.

From the bride… Mark and I met through my older brothers about 5 years ago, when he moved from the Bay Area to Arizona. We started dating about a year later when he needed a last minute plus-one to a friend’s wedding. My brothers thought that I might be able to suggest one of my friends as a suitable date, but I offered to go instead. I always thought Mark was fun, kind, and handsome – and there could be worse ways to spend a Saturday, right? We had an amazing time together, and the fun hasn’t stopped since then.

Mark proposed almost 3 years later, while we were hiking in beautiful Sedona, AZ. The love of the outdoors, especially the breathtaking Arizona scenery, has been a constant throughout our relationship, and it was the perfect spot to decide to spend the rest of our lives together.

As we began wedding planning, we knew that we wanted to showcase Arizona scenery – especially through the choice of venue. I think we knew the moment we stepped on the Casa Paloma lawn at El Chorro that we wanted to get married there. The venue features a stunning backdrop of Camelback Mountain and the property itself is simple, classic, rustic, and beautiful with wrap-around patios, fireplaces, and an open and airy event space.

The venue is stunning enough on its own, so we wanted the décor to be soft and natural with some rustic details. The florals from Sarah’s Garden featured natural bouquets and centerpieces in neutral whites, creams and blushes with pops of deeper pinks and peaches, surrounded by eucalyptus greenery. We also added some pops of color with rose quartz menus from Minted, paired with rosemary sprigs clipped from a friend’s garden that morning. The head table featured a long garland that complemented the greenery hung in the rafters of the event space.

Letters by Jennifer created stunning calligraphy for our custom signage, seating charts, and escort cards. We also featured some desert-inspired details in our cactus invitation suite, programs, and itineraries from Paperless Post and our custom logos from Snaptag Designs.

For my “something old” my mother created a ring bearer pillow and flower girl basket using lace from the bridesmaid’s dresses at her wedding. And my “something borrowed” was a turquoise bracelet that my grandfather gave to my aunt to wear on her wedding day.

We chose long, flowing, chiffon gowns in a pale blush from Dessy as the bridesmaids’ dresses. Paired with the silk ribbons from Frou Frou Chic, slightly moving in that day’s soft breeze, the bouquets were captured beautifully by Rachel Solomon Photography. Rachel and her team did an amazing job capturing all the moments and details from throughout the day.

And of course, the glue that held everything together was planning and coordination from Andrea Leslie and her team. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from our friends and family and the hard work from this amazing team of vendors that created the best day of our lives!

Fate Brought These Two Together – And They Celebrated With Fireworks!

They attended the same high school and college, but never met until post graduation, when both were in Chicago. With the groom’s brother playing matchmaker, it all came together and before they knew it, they were saying “I do” back where it all could have started, in Tucson, Arizona. And back at their hometown, they celebrated in a BIG way – with Black Sheep Filmworks capturing the chic style, the sweet kisses and even the fireworks! See it all right this way!

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/179072749 600 338]

From Black Sheep FilmworksOh, Annie and Sean…so swoon-worthy! From that incredible Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, to those red-soled Christian Louboutin’s for BOTH bride and groom, to suspended floral rings to FIREWORKS, Annie and Sean had one of the most chock full of “eye candy” weddings ever.

Annie and Sean both grew up in Tucson, attended Sabino High School, and the University of Arizona… and NEVER met each other! They both moved to Chicago after graduating from the U of A and it was Sean’s brother that introduced them. Sean stated that he was “Going to marry that girl” after their first date, so obviously, fate finally stepped in and these two gorgeous Tucson lovebirds finally found each other!

Love letters that Annie and Sean had written to each other were opened on the day, and read aloud, privately. This was incorporated into their highlight film, as per Annie’s request, and it really connects you to their love story. Not only are they beautiful, with great style, but they are “Oh-SO” in love. Their family and friends (close to 250 of them!) came from all across the globe to take part in this soirée.

Special touches filled Annie and Sean’s wedding. From red soled Christian Louboutin’s for both bride and groom, to the placement of a Mexican lasso during the ceremony, to a wishing tree instead of a guest book, no detail was overlooked. Sean even surprised Annie with fireworks during the reception. This was truly a gorgeous, spicy, “beaming smile” wedding… Bravo, Annie and Sean!!!

Elegant Burgundy + Gold Arizona Wedding

These two knew that they had a classic style. They knew they were traditional. And they knew that that influence would weigh into their wedding day, and with it guiding them, they created an elegant burgundy and gold wedding perfect for their Arizona Biltmore venue. Rachel Solomon captured the rich hues, the gorgeous florals and every fantastic moment – see them all in our Vault right this way!

From the Bride… Alex is a man of tradition, which is one of the many things I love about him. I’m also known to have a more classic style. We knew far before we got engaged that when we did get married, it would be in a church. In addition to getting married in a church, we wanted a more formal, traditional wedding. To achieve the timeless vibe that we wanted, we chose the Arizona Biltmore Resort as our reception venue. We both share a love of mid-century modern architecture and the elegance of the classic Biltmore Block had us sold from day one. While the hotel rooms have been renovated, the history at this resort is rich, which we were both immediately drawn to!

As our vision for the day transformed, we decided to bring in gold chivari chairs, La Tavola’s velvet red tablecloths, and bronze accents such as goblets and taper candles. I wanted rich colors that would add even more glam to the hand painted gold ceiling of our ballroom, The Gold Room. We knew the room would look incredible on its own, with the large floor to ceiling windows, so we didn’t want to do too much and take away the natural beauty. We incorporated gold lanterns on the tables and had eucalyptus running down the head table, straight to the floor. Our wedding cake was incredibly intricate and included the Biltmore Block design which is still found all around the Resort today and tied together the whole design.

During the cocktail hour, we had a few minutes before all of the guests arrived into the ballroom. I wanted to take a sneak peek to see how it all looked. I knew that if I didn’t do this before everyone entered, I probably would never get that moment or memory back with my husband. Alex and I went in and were blown away with how well everything came together. The room looked immaculate! I was holding Alex’s hand and remember thinking, I’ve already had the best day of my life today, but I’m still so excited for the rest of the evening and celebrations. That feeling is reflective of more than just how I felt on our wedding day, but every day. I’ve already found my best friend, had the best dating experience, engagement, and memories with Alex, but I’m still so excited for the rest of our life… of what’s to come. The rest of the night was a dream, and we owe that to everyone who celebrated with us. The dance floor was packed all night and the energy in the room was definitely palpable.

We are blessed beyond measure by such wonderful family and friends. Our special day would not have been possible, or meant nearly as much without their love and support throughout the process. We also had the privilege of working with a great rector at Christ Church of the Ascension, Fr. Daniel and incredible vendors including Tami Spencer, AZ Biltmore, Erika Edholm, wedding coordinator, Kate Mellow, florist, photographer Rachel Solomon, Scottsdale Music Company’s Jeff King, and Sara Schultz on all of our paper goodies. We couldn’t have enjoyed our day without the steadfast commitment of such amazing professionals!

Greenery Isn’t Just Pantone’s Color of 2017 – We’re Won Over Too!

When I first heard that Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year was “greenery”, I was a little perplexed; how could we infuse this shade into our wedding repertoire? It’s super lovely but definitely not as commonly celebratory as other hues. But then Elyse Hall came around with this shoot, inspired by those gorgeous greens, and all doubts disappeared from my mind. With help from Atelier de Lafleur, we have wedding pics that is sure to inspire for all of 2017 and beyond. See more in our Vault right this way!

From Elyse HallThere’s nothing more romantic than an outdoor wedding and reception dinner – except maybe an outdoor wedding and reception dinner at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale. This wedding inspiration shoot went even more romantic with the abundance of full fern foliage, an amazing flower wall lounge space and stunning ceremony and dinner views.

The inspired design direction by Revel Wedding Company and Elyse Hall Photography was to stay true to the romance and classic nature of neutrals: ivory, cream, nude and white. Together, with Atelier de Lafleur, they created a magical moment for the love birds to revel in. The monochromatic color palette was accented only with the vibrant color of the year, greenery and touches of beautiful gold. Fern took center stage in the bride’s bouquet, the cake and the eclectic ceremony design. Atelier de Lafleur also created the most magnificent floral wall to frame the beautiful seating area by Glamour and Woods.

The bride stunned in a romantic gown and veil bridal boutique Lillian Lottie and exuded ethereal beauty with make up by Ashley Doran and hair by Emily Hughes.

From the planner… Nikki and Keenan’s special day was straight out of a fairytale. Neutral hints of romantic blush, ivory, and birchwood perfectly complemented the gorgeous desert landscape. The outdoor reception area at Desert Mountain Golf Club served as the ideal location for this December Arizona wedding. This color scheme, accessorized with various succulents, burlap and wood enhanced the space with a warm winter vibe.

The staircase was adorned with lush garland and enhanced with lanterns. The altar was a beautifully constructed white birch wood arch, as the corners spilled over with lush white and pale pink peonies and roses, created by Petal Pusher.

The elegant and unique escort card display featured natural ivory cards nestled into several small logs of white birch wood. Foil & Ink created simple and chic escort cards, with light grey printing. The dinner menus followed the same simplistic and crisp design of ivory and grey tones paired with calligraphy style font.

La Tavola provided a selective collection of ivory and neutral linens that were topped with gold rimmed white charger plates, courtesy of Event Rents. Shimmering blush colored napkins tied with twine laid on top was the perfect finishing touch for the reception tables. Tapered candles on glass vases and smaller ornate gold candles added a dainty touch to the center of the tables. Contributing to the wintery atmosphere were white birch wood table number holders.

The floral centerpieces from Petal Pusher were absolutely detailed and stunning. Tall gold candle holders served as the base for abundant circular bouquets of peonies, roses and lush greenery. Petal Pusher brilliantly created a lavish row of florals to compliment the dark wood head table, accented with numerous charming white candles. Romantic roses hung at various lengths along the blush pipe and drape behind the sweet newlyweds.

Desert Mountain Golf Club catered to those with a sweet tooth with a two-tier wedding cake adorned with miniature succulents, as well as a dessert bar. Event Rents provided a cozy seating area with birch wood centerpieces to add the perfect finishing touch.
