How to Integrate A Pop of Color into Your Wedding Day

One thing I know to be true in my years of curating wedding features… pink and pups are two things you babes love. Without fail, our Instagram account blows up when we put little sweeties like this in the spotlight. But once you are able to come down from the cuteness high—I urge you to soak in this full editorial from Ashley RaeAshley Baumgartner and Bloom + Blueprint, doused in pink—because it’s the perfect blueprint on how to add a “pop of color” into your Big Day design.

“Mere color, unspoiled by meaning, and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways”. ~Oscar Wilde

Hidden between the lush greens and desert tones of the Royal Palms Resort laid a one-of-a-kind wedding experience. The perfect mix of soft and vivid tones. A high end colorful yet classic experience for the bride, Brittany, to tie the knot with her beau, AJ. Designed by Ashley Rae Photography for our 1:1 mentorship, this styled wedding editorial featured a feminine, ombre effect to appeal to even the most elegant bride. The team wanted to create a design that took classic feminine elements and integrated a pop of color, to show brides that they can add color to their perfect wedding day. More than just an accent of blush here and there.

Bloom and Blueprint created a stunning floral display for the bride and groom’s ceremony and reception backdrop, not to mention the perfect ombre tabletop centerpiece sure to make any bride swoon. The lovely, classic table was adorned with white cross back chairs from Bright Event Rentals that needed a pop of color as well. Chiffon draped off the guests’ seating arrangement, adorned with with an ombre pallet of floating florals. Ombre florals also adorned a beautiful cake by Maeflour Cakes and their champagne flutes.

The bride wore a stunningly classic gown from Schaefer’s Bridal and opted for Hollywood glam, classic-chic look by Kensington Makeup. Combined with her groom’s classic look from The Black Tux and a glam pair of pink Christian Louboutin heels, the two were ready to tie the knot, and cuddle several adorable French Bulldog puppies from Frenchies and Flowers. The puppies, Gigi, Theo and Bri were adorned with blooms from Bloom and Blueprint as they escorted the bride and groom throughout their wedding day. Because the perfect day wouldn’t be complete without puppies!

A Desert Chic Magenta Wedding at Tanque Verde Ranch

Today we’re transporting you to Tanque Verde Ranch, a beautiful rustic wedding venue in Tucson, Arizona! It’s pretty safe to say we have completely fallen in love with this chic desert day. From the blooming floral arbor covered in magenta and white flowers from Atelier de La Fleur to the bride’s total stunner of a dress by Pronovias. Lucky for us, Ashley Rae Photography was there to capture every memorable moment unfold. See it all below!

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR LOVE STORY:

We the met a week after Michael move back to Los Angeles from completing his rotations in New York. By chance, we happened to both be at his brother-in-laws West Hollywood restaurant and then it was history. Became official 1 month later.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROPOSAL!

Oddly enough it was the most simple proposal and for us that was unique because we are one travel heavy couple so in the back of my mind I always expected a vacation proposal from Michael. He chose to do it on New Years Eve in our NYC apartment right before we were going out. It was such a surprise and extremely intimate. Then we went out to celebrate.

WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING INSPIRATION?

Desert Chic!

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS LOCATION?

We are both Los Angeles natives so one would think its only natural to have our wedding conveniently back home. But having just moved to Tucson we really wanted to embrace it and start making memories in our new “home”. So we made everyone come to us (yay)! As for wedding venue this was the easiest choice, our thought was that if we’re going to do a desert wedding destination then it has ooze desert beauty. We wanted to make it an experience for our guests and Tanque Verde Guest Ranch did that. The ranch was original a Dude Ranch so it offers horse back riding, penning, hikes, a lake for fishing, you name it. In addition to that this was the location of Michael’s favorite Western TV Show growing up “Hey Dude”, so it was sign!

TELL US ABOUT FINDING YOUR WEDDING DRESS:

You know when every former bride says “You will just know”, well its true. One day while walking at our favorite outdoor mall we came across Tucson’s chicest bridal store. At that time I hadn’t even looked nor tried on any wedding dresses yet so I thought to myself “Ill just browse, obviously I wont get anything because I’m with my husband and I want it to be a surprise’ and then there it was- my wedding dress. I just knew this was it, it was simple yet special. So I went back ALONE and tried it on and bought it. Done deal

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING FLOWERS:

Moody yet delicate!

ANY ADVICE FOR THOSE PLANNING A WEDDING NOW?

Make a commitment to each other to always keep it about the both of you! Prior to wedding planning set boundaries for family. Do not try to please anyone other than each other.

WHAT WERE SOME HIGHLIGHTS OF YOUR RECEPTION?

Dancing with my mom, it was actually the first time ever that we danced together! I will never forget that.

WHAT ABOUT THE CEREMONY?

Vows, I tried so hard not to ugly cry and because of that my vows took forever. It was embarrassing yet beautifully real all together. I also made a conscious effort to really take everything in during the ceremony, I looked around a lot and took in the beautiful landscape of the desert and the crowd.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT?

First Look. The build up was insane- it was so special and intimate. Time stood still.

Soft and Romantic Desert Wedding Inspiration at Royal Palms Resort and Spa

This elegant and romantic desert editorial from Rachael Ellen Events walks you through the process of creating a wedding design that is unique to you. Whether you’re a modern bride with traditional roots or a boho bride with edgy flair – this gorgeous shoot proves that no matter how incompatible your wedding theme and dream location seem to be, there is always a way to bring your vision to life in a thoughtful, cohesive way. To offer up some inspiration, check out these gorgeous photos captured by Ashley Rae from this day, bringing together the rugged desert landscape with classic bridal style.

From Rachael Ellen EventsThis design was inspired by real brides and the process of creating something that is true to their vision, location, and their love. Often these three things don’t necessarily blend, but with intentional details and thoughtful design, you can create not only a beautiful balance but a playful mixed design that is absolutely unique to the couple. In this case, the location was Scottsdale Arizona. This is the desert – the landscape is rugged, it is hot, and it evokes a more exotic feel. Our bride was absolutely timeless and classic. Her color palette was soft, pink, and very traditionally bridal.

Our design was centered around pairing the rugged dessert with this romantic, classic vision. The key to this design was bridging the classic and desert gap with romantic and edgy bridal details. The bride wore a gorgeous Claire Pettibone gown that was equal parts classic and romantic. The beaded, textured lace played off the landscape while the cape and lace created an über classic and romantic look.

We chose a sleek bridal updo and gorgeous, glowing bridal makeup. Her three ring stone engagement ring was the perfect mix of classic but not too classic. The groom wore a timeless black suit really emphasizing and rooting the classic nature of the design. This handsome look paired next to hers created a regal desert look that felt very unique to them. The day of details played a huge role in the over design success.

The paper goods, designed by Ink & Press Co. Donned a combination of luxe textures and romantic details to pair the desert with the romantic look. Gold foil on handmade paper with a custom floral envelope liner created the perfect compliment to the design. Other favorite paper elements included the art sketch florals as well as the scrolled name cards and boutonniere tags.

We took the envelope liner design and had this applied to the foam on their rosé tower for an unexpected twist on their cocktail hour. The tables-cape was made to look lush and opulent against the muted dessert shades of the resort. Using blush velvet, gold rimmed dinnerware, textured paper goods, romantic candles and garden inspired florals, we created something fit for desert royalty.

Instead of decorating only the bride and grooms chairs, we opted for floral decor on the entire head table. The florals were focused on a romantic, feminine side of the design. We used shades of white, rose, and blush to create dimension in the subtle palette while using textural elements like spring Spirea, Sword Fern and mint to balance the feminine feel of the design. Our bridesmaids held all sweet pea bouquets – one of our favorite 2019 floral trends. This allowed the brides bouquet to really stand out and gave them something soft and understated to hold. Our flower girl wore a simple, classic spray rose crown to complete the classic, timeless section of our design. Overall, this look was all about pairing two things that don’t naturally go together. Desert doesn’t have to mean bohemian – ballroom doesn’t have to mean classic – beach doesn’t have to mean casual! It’s all about creating unique interpretations of the location centered around what makes our clients unique and that will make their love story stand out.

Modern Garden Wedding Inspiration at the Arizona Biltmore

Who says garden weddings have to mean flower crowns, wooden signs and casual flair – been there done that! This modern wedding inspiration from Elyse Hall Photography and Wild One Events is putting a sophisticated spin on that classic garden wedding style. And we’re totally obsessed. From the historic private estate venue to the elegant floral design to a wedding dress that’s the gift that just keeps on giving, take in all the pretty below…

From Wild One EventsThere was a a lot of upfront planning put in to this wedding inspiration shoot between myself, the planner/designer, and Elyse, the shoot’s photographer. Right off the bat we knew we wanted to showcase a tented wedding reception, and the Arizona Biltmore was the perfect location to use as our foundation because of its classic infrastructure. We wanted to take the historical elegance of the Biltmore and infuse that into the details of the shoot. Overall, our main inspiration was making sure it felt as if this was a modern wedding with an elegant “private estate” feel to it, and to showcase what a different tenting can make when applied correctly to a venue to frame a space.

I chose a mild neutral color palette for the linens and soft seating so that it could be paired with the bolder more romantic tones of the florals. I wanted the flowers to not only bring in color but also give the tables visual interest with their organic garden aesthetic. Everything about the floral design added beautify and softened the other design elements. Our lounge furniture selection brought in an understated masculine elegance that was the perfect touch for cocktail hour and helped emphasize the “private estate” feel. The use of the ghost chairs in the ceremony and reception brought in a bit of modern that paired nicely with the venue’s natural surroundings without taking the concept too far, especially when they were set against some of the more classic elements in the reception.

In the back of my mind during planning was also wanting to ensure everything looked cohesive with the beautiful sailcloth tenting. The paper goods and invitation suite that was designed by Roots and Rain Creative were heavily influenced by the architecture and history of the Arizona Biltmore. This hotel is an icon here in Phoenix because of its rich history in our community and its famous architect, Frank Lloyd Wright. The main invitation features a hand drawn sketch by Emma (of Roots and Rain) of the hotel’s main entrance, and the vintage stamps that were collected for the postage feature Frank Lloyd Wright himself as well as other Arizona details. Each of these intentional design elements went in to tell the story of the inspiration for this wedding day.

The cake was one area where we took more of a classic approach in the design but still brought in a modern touch with the height and added gold texture on each layer. The colors from the flowers perfectly reinforced the floral color palette, and the placement of the cake table at the head of the tent was an exciting way to great guests as they entered for the reception. The beautiful Allison Webb gown from Schaffer’s our Bride wore felt like the icing on the cake because it was such a fun and modern spin on a classic ball gown! It played perfectly with the overall inspiration and looked beautiful on our bride. Overall, we felt as if everything came together nicely to tell this modern day love story of our couple.

Romantic Fall Desert Wedding at El Chorro in Paradise Valley

I melt for a good groom-swooning-at-the-bride shot, and this wedding right here? It’s got a few sweet ones sprinkled throughout. Gahhh, can you even? I think we can all agree this duo is simply the cutest and when you pair them with details planned by A Day to Cherish Weddings & Celebrations and adorable guests like this, the result is a darling day that pulls you in. See the whole thing right this way.

From Benjamin Clifford PhotographyBeing a wedding photographer, it’s hard not to appreciate all the effort and care that goes into a spectacular wedding. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a stunning wedding at the beautiful El Chorro wedding venue. It was an excellent setting for such an occasion, nestled between the desert mountains of Paradise Valley, Arizona. My clients, Rebecca and Nathan, couldn’t have been more delighted by the natural beauty and luxurious treatment they received. The event was gorgeous from start to finish, and the memories preserved there will undoubtedly be remembered fondly by all who attended.

We managed to take a few photos of her alongside the lively desert fauna, creating a simply enchanting scene. The bridesmaids dressed in pale pink looked lovely together next to the bride, and we were able to get a few photos of them as well. After a few more shots of the groom looking his best and the couple finally together, we were ready to move on to the wedding ceremony. The event lawn was a spectacular venue with perfectly trimmed grass, white-blossomed trees, and the looming desert mountains in the distance. When Nathan and Rebecca were finally together on the event stage, hand-in-hand with solemn expressions, every seamlessly entwined element was finally in place. The couple walked away with brimming smiles. The following walk around the grounds allowed us several more romantic shots of them together freshly married. It was lovely to see them both bubbling from the excitement of their union. From there it was on to the Casa Paloma for the reception, showcasing the dazzling luxury El Chorro is known for. White, gold, crystal and blush adornments filled every table, with bouquets and candles to top it off. We finished with a series of shots of the couple’s first dance, taking to the floor in a wonderfully intimate moment while their friends and family looked on.

When it was all said and done, we managed to capture a fantastic set of stunning photos from the event. It was a wonderful day to be involved in, and one I’m sure won’t be forgotten.

A Picturesque Destination Wedding at The Rim Golf Club in Arizona

Black bridesmaid dresses, a breathtaking ceremony view and a romantic candlelit reception are just a few of our favorite things about this dreamy destination wedding at The Rim Gold Club. Sassy Soirees left no detail unturned when planning this day inspired by the beautiful mountains of Arizona. Sarah’s Garden created arrangements full of rich colors like bold reds, deep greens and a touch of soft pink! Don’t miss a moment at the full gallery captured by Rachel Solomon Photography!

From the Bride… In the fall of 2012, Jack and I met in Minneapolis, where we embarked on a two year graduate program at the University of Minnesota. Upon first meeting Jack, I was struck by his generosity and impacted by the selflessness he exhibits everyday and in each interaction. After close to two years of cherished friendship, Jack and I started dating. I was born and raised in Arizona and, despite leaving for the Midwest after high school, I had always known that I would return home to get married.

When Jack proposed in the fall of 2017, I was thrilled to learn that he shared in my excitement for planning a wedding inspired by the natural beauty of the mountains of Arizona. We knew we wanted an intimate gathering of our closest family and friends, and having a destination wedding allowed us to offer our guests the thrill of travel and adventure – something that brought us together as a couple. It was heartwarming and uplifting to watch our guest’s travels unfold, all centered around our wedding day at the The Rim Golf Club in Payson, Arizona.

We were fortunate to have a beautiful and sunny, yet crisp, late fall day for our wedding. We chose black and white attire and simple, classic gold decor to allow the breathtaking views of the Mogollon Rim to take center stage. The colors of the open-air backdrop were stunning alone, but we chose to accent Mother Nature’s beauty with rich colors in our details – including my “something blue”, a pair of brilliant blue M. Gemi bow adorned flats, and a palette of bold reds, soft pinks and deep greens throughout our floral design.

Our most treasured memories from our wedding day are the moments that were inspired by our love for our family and friends: connecting over a few holes of golf prior to the ceremony, toasting with the very same gold-rimmed champagne glasses that my parents used on their wedding day close to 30 years ago, and dancing with our guests to “Sweet Caroline” – a father/daughter tribute in honor of my late father. We gave our guests Rim Club wine glasses as favors and have since enjoyed reminiscing in the homes of our friends and family members who have served wine in these glasses that are so very special to us. Looking back on our day is now one of our favorite things to do together, and we can’t imagine a more perfect setting to celebrate our marriage. We were so fortunate to partner with a truly incredible and amazingly talented team of vendors who worked tirelessly and seamlessly to create a day we will never forget.

Elegant Desert Wedding Inspiration at Royal Palms Resort and Spa

We are loving this innovative take on desert wedding inspiration that you’ve likely never seen before. Brandy Jackson Photography brought elegance and a fine art feel to one of Arizona’s most sought-after venues, the Royal Palms Resort and Spa – and the result is simply breathtaking. Carte Blanche Design created organic arrangements in neutral hues that truly brought the overall vision to life. Keep on reading to see all the dreamy inspo below!

From Brandy Jackson Photography… I wanted to bring a organic/fine art feeling to the Royal Palms Resort. Often times, living in the desert it can feel very harsh and flat. My main goal for this shoot was to bring an elegant and delicate feeling to one of the most popular wedding venues in Arizona.

I really wanted to design the shoot with high end luxury in mind, even through the scent, adding Jo Malone candles as the votives for a European touch.

My goal was to also focus on just the bride, through her emotions and also through the delicate fine art posing style. She was our perfect bride!

All in all, the design came out exactly like what I had envisioned, thanks to our talented and creative vendor team!

Vibrant Desert Elopement Inspiration at El Chorro in Arizona

Elopements used to get a bad rap… but oh, have they come a long way in the past decade. Sneak-away I dos have become micro celebrations where the focus can be placed on quality over quantity; making room for attention to detail in every area of your Big Day, from style to ceremony to the ‘reception’ (if you so choose to invite a few guests!). Today’s vendor team, including Marisa Belle and A Day to Cherish Weddings and Events, crafted a desert-style elopement that will brighten your Pinterest boards and have you seriously considering a more intimate gathering.

From Marisa Belle PhotographyThis inspiration shoot was a true collaboration between all vendors. When we first met to talk about the direction we wanted the shoot to take, everyone agreed that it should be something that was “out of the box” while still staying true to an intimate wedding vibe. We opted to stay away from a more traditional color pallet and introduce vibrant golds, mustards, and plum shades throughout. Our goal with this shoot was to inspire brides and let them know that beautiful elopements are attainable without having to climb to the top of a mountain on fly to Iceland. A stunning and traditional venue like El Chorro can be equally as beautiful for an elopement or intimate wedding!

As with any inspirational shoot so much of the feeling comes from the wardrobe. For this shoot our amazing wedding wardrobe stylist Risa of RiSTYLE Consulting designed and created the dress from scratch with her team. We went with a golden/mustard dress and although the color of the dress was unique we kept the lines and train of a traditional wedding dress. The silhouette of this custom gown is beautiful on our model and balances with her naturally curly hair. Just perfect! Our groom wore a plum blazer by Gant, tan pants, floral tie and pocket square all by Bonobos. The look is very fashion forward and goes perfectly with the brides dress!

Margo and Bees did a wonderful job with the invitation suite, incorporating the mustard color while playing off the desert sunset with their colorful overlay. Used both on the inside of the envelope and information card to tie it all together!

Ruze Cake House did a masterful job of creating a cake design that fit with the inspiration! The cake is hand painted and plays off the color of the wedding dress seamlessly. The favors are painted the same way and shaped to highlight Arizona and the desert. So perfect!

Randi owner of Carte Blanche Designs nailed the intimate, vibrant vibe of the shoot with her gorgeous bouquet. The bouquet was both perfectly structured while still giving a free-flowing elopement feel.

For our ceremony set up we wanted to maintain the subtle bohemian feel of an elopement while still keeping with some classic elements and making sure to highlight the beautiful desert El Chorro backdrop and Camelback Mountain in the background. We kept the seating interesting by incorporating gold chairs, paired with white leather chairs and cow hide benches all provided by Dang. Fine Rentals. The potted succulents and small floral arrangements by Randi at Carte Blanche Designs, dotted the ceremony space elevating the simple but stunning design.

Cara with A Day to Cherish Weddings really did an amazing job designing this space using items from Dang Fine Rentals! All the elements play beautifully off the El Chorro backdrop, bring in the desert and bohemian elements of an elopement but with a refined and classic twist. The La Tavola linens on the cocktail high boys work perfectly with in the space!

The reception was set in The Hampton Room at El Chorro, a location where they hold many intimate dinner parties. The room is inviting and romantic perfect for an elopement reception. For the design we decided on one long table provided by Dang Fine Rentals, adorned with a colorful runner, candle light and desert plants and flowers all put together by Randi of Carte Blanche Design. She also incorporated some terra cotta elements that again play off of our desert surroundings. Behind the table we used a rattan room divider that allowed us to bring in more candle light, so pretty!

There is no shortage of portrait spaces at El Chorro, every corner of the property is beautiful and highlights the desert backdrop. For this shoot we explored some of the lesser used corners of the property with allowed us to flex our creative muscles but also allowed us to capture one of the most stunning portraits with Camelback Mountain I’ve ever seen from the property!

A Romantic Tuscan-Inspired Wedding at Silverleaf Country Club

This gorgeous, multicultural wedding from Rachel Solomon Photography may look like a scene straight out of Under The Tuscan Sun… but it’s actually set in the heart of the American Southwest! The swoon-worthy bride and groom tied the knot with a little help from a rockstar vendor team – Amy Mancuso Events made sure the celebrations went off without a hitch, Juliet Le Fleur wow’d us with her floral design… and the dress, ohhh the dress. It’s safe to say we’re completely obsessed with this one guys!

From the bride… Danny and I met when we were 18 years old. We both received soccer scholarships from Seattle Pacific University and met our freshman year of college. All through college, everyone could see that we had a ‘connection.’ He and I could feel it when we were around each other, but the timing was never right until our senior year when we officially started dating. When we finally got together, all of our friends joked with us and said, “It’s about time!”

I knew he was the one the very first time I laid eyes on him. The thought “I’m going to marry that guy!” ran through my head. I thought it was crazy and blew it off, but I knew after we started dating that he was mine. Even when it has been hard, he does things that remind me of why I want to spend the rest of my life with him.

On our 2-year anniversary of being together, as I walked through the door after work, I was completely shocked to see our whole house decorated with candles and flowers. Danny had a whole speech ready to say to me and then got down on one knee. Of course I said yes!

We come from two different cultures and backgrounds. We complement each other, and we help each other see the world through different points of view. Our wedding brought two different cultures together and united as them as one.

From photographer Rachel SolomonTaylor & Danny celebrated their classic, romantic wedding set against the backdrop of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Arizona, but by the looks of it you’d think they were in the middle of Tuscany!

Colorful Brunch Wedding Inspiration at The Farm at South Mountain

Spring and summer brides (and grooms), I know you’re out there. Planning away and waiting for the warmer months to arrive. And while it may feel like there’s one too many slices of festive holiday inspiration going around, we’ve got you today—with this fresh, bright and colorful dose of pretty from Leslie D Photography and Konsider It Done. Blooms from Sarah’s Garden, so poppy you could almost eat them, a table set in La Tavola linens, an outdoor ceremony setting graced in golden sun, and so much more.

From the Designers/ Planners, Kris & Tyler Zeman of Konsider It DoneWith the popularity of brunch weddings on the rise, brunch was the leading inspiration behind this shoot. Vibrant and natural colors was the second. For the cost conscious couple, brunch weddings pose the best compromise of on-trend and on-budget. For the same reason brunch weddings have become such a craze, we predict they’ll remain a wedding mainstay for years to come. Because really, who doesn’t love brunch? A pop of color, bubbly, breakfast food, and love! Best served before noon.

From the can-I-drink-them-all cocktails, to the towering crepe cake, and the stunning floral arrangements, we can’t get enough! Bright pinks, oranges, yellows, and greens… A palette inspired by, and then surrounded by delicious foods. No detail was left untouched and Leslie of Leslie D. Photography captured it all perfectly on film.

A local favorite for their farm to table cuisine, The Farm at South Mountain also provided the quintessential oasis in the desert for the shoot. A one of a kind luscious green, botanical ambiance in the middle of the desert – it was the perfect backdrop for the day.

Sarah’s Garden brought the brightest of the bunch, creating eye popping combinations of color that graced the luscious tablescape and a ceremony arch that could have stolen the show.

Set atop the luxurious Nuovo Peach linen from La Tavola, was the original inspiration for the entire design. The new blush Olivia linen, we used for the napkins. You heard that right – the entire design was sprung from the napkin print. Every standout needs the right backdrop, and we couldn’t be happier with how the napkin and the linen support each other in this design.

These days, you don’t need everything to be custom to be extraordinary, and the semi-custom paper in this shoot from Foil & Ink perfectly demonstrates that. We love an option that saves some money, and still includes detail like watercolor and can include gold foil, embossing, and cotton paper. Classy and budget friendly, the winningest of combinations.

With such a bright table, bursting with floral and food, we had to phone a friend for some complementary textures and colors. Both Event Rents and The Confetti Studio answered the call, providing accents in spades. Adding natural elements like wood chargers, breadboards, and bowls, paired with ornate crystal glassware, we kept comfort and classy in harmony. Linen and wooden chairs supported an off-white plate combo featuring stunning detail, flanked by vintage flatware. All in, we can’t picture a more brunch-worthy combination.

Is it even brunch without a good cocktail? Couple of Bartenders doesn’t think so. Matching the colors and textures perfectly, they complimented each seat with a unique cheers-worthy and potent creation.

And the food. Oh the food. Brunch wouldn’t be brunch without more tempting food than one should ever eat. And since this was brunch, we tossed out the traditional cake for a towering stack of ombre colored crepes, by Dessert First by Veronica. “I hate donuts” said no one, so cake donuts and jelly filled donut holes joined the spread, helping ensure no sweet tooth was left behind.

In the end, we found ourselves reflecting on the brunch wedding trend and thinking to ourselves that it’s popular for a reason. Surround by the most quintessential love event (wedding) and the most nom-worthy of foods (brunch), what could go wrong? Cheers to the perfect couple. Weddings & brunch, that is.

A Sunrise Wedding at Horseshoe Bend in the Grand Canyon

I am the type of person (aka crazy…) who is willing to wake up at insane times to get a glimpse of a stunning sunrise while vacationing, so this remarkable intimate wedding at Horseshoe Bend is right up my alley! The Grand Canyon views alone are enough to take your breath away and we couldn’t LOVE bride Taira and groom Evan’s casual-cool, adventuresome vibes more! The legendary photos by Melanie Gabrielle Photography and Taira’s lovely Carol Hannah skirt are giving us life today…

From Melanie Gabrielle PhotographyEvan and Taira love adventuring together, so when wedding planning began to feel stressful instead of exciting, they decided taking a few close family members on one of their bucket list adventures sounded like the perfect wedding day! And it was. The morning of April 20, 2017, Taira, Evan, and their guests set their alarms for 4am, got dressed, and met at the parking lot for Horseshoe Bend, Arizona, one of the Grand Canyon’s most beautiful lookouts, and began the 1 mile hike to where Evan and Taira would soon wed.

Once everyone was ready, Taira, her sisters, and her mom made their way to the ceremony, and the 1 mile hike became a 1 mile aisle to the groom. Just as she arrived in front of her groom, the sun made its way to the horizon, and they shared their vows under the most beautiful sunrise on what also happened to be Earth Day.

After the ceremony had ended, the guests went back to the hotel to change before the tour through Antelope Canyon! When the tour came to an end, everyone made their way to the lake where the houseboat Evan and Taira were staying on was docked waiting for the reception. The stars that night were some of the most magnificent I have ever witnessed. It was an absolutely breathtaking day, and such a special way to spend Earth Day with their closest family members!

El Chorro in Arizona is the Perfect Backdrop for this Wedding Inspo

If ever there was an inspiration shoot that you could translate so completely and seamlessly into a wedding, it would be this gorgeous little number from Ashley Creative and photographed by Jacqui Cole. From the pretty bridesmaids dresses to the rentals by The Confetti Studio, La Tavola Fine Linens and Glamour and Woods, even pre-made welcome bags by A Signature Welcome and florals inspired by the Wildflower AZ – this really could be one of those shoots you show to your wedding planner and boom, design complete. Donkey not included.

From the Camelback Mountains to the gorgeous Arizona sunsets, our inspiration was brought to you by just that – the breathtaking array of oranges, blues and yellows that paint the skies of the Southwest at dusk. The historic El Chorro set a beautiful backdrop for our wedding inspiration shoot nestled in the exclusive Paradise Valley of Arizona.

The inspired design direction by Ashley Creative was to stay true to the gorgeous nature surrounding the venue. Together, with Wildflower AZ and Glamour and Woods, we created a tablescape that highlighted the color palette perfectly. Idieh Designs crafted a textured canvas table number to almost resemble tile along with leather place cards to give it that outdoor edge.

Wood candlesticks from The Confetti Studio & a soft, gauzy runner from La Tavola Linen created the perfect mixture of textures that was beautifully captured by Jacqui Cole in front of the cactus of the Sonoran Desert.

A Signature Welcome curated a welcome bag that guests would be thrilled to receive – filled with desert essentials like sunscreen, a water bottle, and yummy local snacks all placed in a rose gold wire basket with a hand calligraphy “Welcome to Arizona” tag. Ruze Cake House added two cactus cookies to the welcome bag to pay homage to the sea of cactus you see when driving through the desert.

Penny, the burro, made a friendly appearance during our wedding inspiration shoot. She was dressed in a flower crown in the same color scheme as the bride’s bouquet to perfectly accent the bridal party.

Colorful + Whimsical Wedding Done Oh So Right in Phoenix, Arizona!

We’ve noticed that there are a lot of colorful weddings going on in the SW regions of the US. And as much as the all-white or blush and neutral weddings fill our pages, you have to know that we LOVE weddings with brilliant color! Here’s the thing. It can be downright difficult to get the perfect blend of color + energy + ambience from your chosen color palette. The incredibly talented Charity Mauer Photography as well as the passionate team of wedding planners at Some Like It Classic, shared today’s wedding to show you how splendid a color-infused wedding can be. So – get comfy – pull out your reading glasses – pour that last sip of coffee (sub in beverage of choice!). We have a doozy of a recent real wedding from Charity & Kayla that mastered the color wheel at Royal Palms Resort in Phoenix, Arizona. It was SO hard to know how to stop with the images! Head over to the full gallery for more.

From Charity MauerThe perfect recipe for a color-filled wedding can be quite the enigma. Too conservative? Forgettable. Over the top? Garish! But KC, Ben and the incredible Kayla at Some Like It Classic found that elusive balance and executed it perfectly!

Their venue, the Royal Palms Resort, is naturally lush combining the soft greens and blues of desert succulents with the bright pops of red and purple from the geraniums and vincas cultivated by their master gardeners. The pools of crystal blue water reflect sparkles of dappled sunlight making everything in their labyrinth of courtyards shimmer and glow. KC and Ben’s wedding was set amidst this stunning array or colors.

The bougainvillea buds adorning the property seem electrified in the light of the sunset, creating the most beautiful floral backdrops for their romance.

The floral designs from The Flower Studio featured notoriously gorgeous black dahlias (swoon!) scattered amongst peach and orange roses and ranunculus. Blue lupine and sweepings of ferns and other foliage covered the ceremony altar making you feel as though you’d found your way into some forgotten secret garden overgrown with time.

The blue and white chintz tablecloths for their reception dinner paired perfectly with the dusty rose napkins and custom turquoise and fuchsia agate place markers for each guest.

KC’s guests even seemed in on the secret, dressed in gorgeous jewel tones and textured cocktail wear. From the subtle hints of turquoise in her wedding makeup and earrings (she does hail from Texas!), to their custom magenta cocktails, KC and Ben lived their wedding dreams awash in color and beauty. It was a treat to capture such a stunning display on film for this sweet sweet couple!

Four Seasons Scottsdale Destination Wedding Filled With Color

Weddings are almost always a “destination” weekend for at least a few of the guests! This Scottsdale, Arizona wedding brought friends and family from all over to celebrate Tori and Geoff’s weddings … a celebration brimming with splashes of southwestern flavor and filled with an abundance of colorful details at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale.  It’s tagged as a winter wedding – after all, it did take place in February – but at first glance, there’s no way this appears in the least bit chilly. Chalk that up to the friendly, warmth seen from beginning to end. Our thanks to Rachel Solomon Photography for sharing the love!

From Rachel Solomon PhotographyTori & Geoff, residing in the Dallas area, had a stunning southwest-inspired destination wedding in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. Filled with desert details, cactus, succulents, and plenty of color, this laid-back couple’s wedding was flawlessly executed by Emily Clarke Events.

From the Bride… Most importantly, we wanted our wedding to be FUN! We are so incredibly laid back, and we have a lot of fun together, and we wanted our wedding to be a reflection of our relationship with each other. We didn’t want anything super fancy and formal because we aren’t that way. We like to have a good time, we’re silly, and we wanted everyone to feel comfortable and enjoy themselves to the fullest.

And if you’re not already in love with this wedding, you will be ~ after you watch this short film from Marc Roberts Videography. Tori’s father’s words to his baby girl …. well, let’s just say, it’s why every couple needs photos and a film to remember their wedding day!

From the Bride… The thing I love the most about Geoff is his heart. He has the sweetest, most thoughtful and compassionate heart of anyone I know. I’m a big believer in the Five Love Languages as well, and I feel mostly loved by acts of service. Since the beginning of our relationship, Geoff has constantly cared for my family, friends, our dogs and me. He has a servant’s heart, and when I saw him caring for the people I cared about the most, I knew he was the one. One of my favorite memories when we first started dating was our first official road trip. We went to beach, and on our way home, we stopped at one of those drive thru animal safaris. I don’t know if I had ever laughed so hard in my life. Geoff and I were terrified of the ostriches, and we swear they targeted our car. They are so creepy! Going on a road trip with Geoff helped me visualize how a future with him would be, and I loved and laughed every minute of our trip. I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else.

From the Groom… We decided early on in 2016 that we really wanted to visit the island of Nantucket. We have always like the culture, food, and scenery there. We flew up to Boston in early August and went to a Red Sox-Yankees baseball game that night and drove to Chatham, MA the next day. From there, we chartered an “island hopper” plane to Nantucket (since all the ferries were booked). We walked to the most famous location on the island, Brant Point, where I had a local photographer waiting to take some candid pictures of us. Despite the travel delays and hot weather, she still said yes!

. . . . . . . . . .

The Most Elegant Desert Garden Wedding in Paradise Valley

Give us pretty details and we are happy wedding bloggers. Give us a story that goes along with said lovely deets? And you’ll probably find us (literally) jumping out of our seats with joy. Today’s desert fete is just that my friends—painstakingly pretty, thanks to Imoni Events and Carte Blanche Design (and allll of the vendors below). But it’ll also pull at your heart strings in other ways… such as the Groom’s careful and loving attention to detail (read the story below after you peruse Charity Maurer‘s stunning images!). Plus, all of it took place in the Groom’s father’s backyard… bet you didn’t see that one coming.

From Charity MaurerIt’s truly heartwarming when not the bride, but the groom first reaches out to you as a photographer. After proposing to the love of his life, Katie, groom Chasen knew that he wanted their day to capture the warmth and sincerity of his love for her. From the first moment of their elegant wedding day, every detail was set in place to celebrate their closeness and bond with one another.

Before Chasen first laid eyes on his glowing wife-to-be, he had her read a letter enclosed in card he had purchased for her. Little did she know that he had searched high and low for months to find a duplicate of the card he had sent her years ago, after their very first date. Talk about a man who loves details!

The two tied the knot in Chasen’s father’s backyard, surrounded by friends and family. They wanted to incorporate their love of lush plants and botanicals despite living in the arid southwest. With the help of the immensely talented floral designer, Randi Eshelman, they merged the natural beauty of the native landscape with the luxuriously abundant greenery they so desired, creating an incredible desert garden wedding.

This precious wedding was a work of art, from the close-knit relationship of the bride and groom, to the perfect execution of the garden-party décor; from the custom cocktails and signage to the fanciful Volkswagen bus photo booth. It was an honor to be present at the start of Katie and Chasen’s married life together.

California Cool + Southwestern Style = Colorful Al Fresco Success!

One read through this beautiful Bride’s story below and it’s crystal clear that she and her hubby-to-be loved their wedding vendors. They supplied the colorful ideas and their team transformed them into a wedding masterpiece, perfectly mixing California cool with their stylish Southwestern site. Rachel Solomon captured the creative combo and all its bright details, from the bridesmaids and the bouquets to the al fresco table settings, leaving us feeling inspired and excited. See it all right this way!

From the Bride… When Neil and I talked about what we wanted for our wedding day, we both agreed that we wanted a traditional wedding where we could celebrate our marriage with friends and family. As simple as that sounds, it helped us prioritize where we wanted to focus – we wanted to make sure that we provided a fun and memorable experience for our guests.

Neil and I loved the mission-style of both Brophy Chapel and El Chorro. Because he grew up in Santa Barbara County and I grew up in Phoenix, we loved the way that El Chorro perfectly blended the coastal mission style white stucco with the beautiful desert mountains. Lindsey Rendon, the wedding coordinator at El Chorro, was a true delight to work with and earned our trust very early on. She made everything so wonderful for us and we are so grateful to her. We loved that we had the option of eating outside and dancing inside. The lawn at El Chorro was just the perfect setting for the al fresco, intimate dinner party that we had in our minds. Lindsey helped us pick out a delicious, family-style dinner including sea bass, pork tenderloin and Chateaubriand.

Teaming up with Rachel Troyan of Outstanding Occasions was absolutely one of the best decisions we made. I felt like I kept throwing random, disjointed ideas her way but she took them all in stride and when she presented us with our first design guide, I was in awe. She had taken all my disjointed ideas and made a cohesive and beautiful event design out of them. On top of that, Rachel was super organized, timely, knowledgeable, professional and honestly just fun. We spent so much time together, it was nice to genuinely enjoy her.

We were really inspired by El Chorro’s traditional yet fresh feel and how warm and inviting the whole place felt. I wanted to incorporated the bright pop of bougainvillea into our color scheme and flowers from the very beginning and have always loved the way navy and grey work together. We knew we wanted to put the groomsmen in classic navy suits, so we sought out long, flowing grey chiffon dresses for the ladies (and a grey suit for my man of honor!).

We hired Rachel Solomon as our photographer early on because we knew how quickly her schedule would fill up – she was recommended by both our venue and Rachel, our planner. We both loved how natural, relaxed and light-filled her photos were. She has a talent for always catching the most beautiful lighting and color in her photographs. Her timing is also truly amazing and she has a way of catching each person’s warmth. She was so organized and kept in touch with us the perfect amount throughout the whole planning process.

During our first meeting with Celebrations in Paper, our stationer, we discussed doing a floral envelope lining as a fun pop. Rachel, our planner, noticed a print, out of the corner of her eye that reminded her of bougainvillea and called our attention to it. We all loved it instantly and that design quickly became a theme throughout our wedding – from our invitations, to our table number, to one of our cakes and even some pillows on our furniture vignettes (which was an exciting surprise by Rachel for my mother and me!). The invitations themselves were simply stunning. Rene at Celebrations in Paper was so helpful in designing our grey and gold invitations and immediately picked up on the classic, romantic look we wanted.

Working with Růže Cake House was so much fun and we loved how much creativity and joy they brought to our desserts. Our macaron favors were a huge hit with all of our guests and the cakes were just so beautiful. Not to mention, they were simply delicious.

Our floral design with Carte Blanche Design was a lush, romantic dream come true for me. All the complementary colors combined with the candle light and greenery were exactly what I wanted. We love how it added to the relaxed, welcoming and celebratory feel of the whole day.

Mariée Bridal was so great to work with for my wedding dress. It was actually originally two pieces: a strapless dress and a separate lace top. Their innovative problem-solving helped me find my perfect dress! Not to mention the tireless alterations work by Sadie at Couturier! She removed the sleeves from the lace top and attached it to the silk dress so well. She truly made it my dream dress. One of my favorite details of the day was that I was able to wear my mother’s veil! Wearing her veil in the same chapel that my parents were married in almost 42 years prior was so special to me.

Lastly, our band, Instant Classics, was beyond amazing and we have plenty of friends and family who are still talking about how great they were. They played an acoustic set during dinner that had everyone quietly singing and swaying along among the chatter. They then moved inside where they just had so much fun with the crowd and played all the favorites so well.

One of my other favorite details was my “something blue.” My sister had a blue handkerchief embroidered “My American girl becomes my forever girl” and the date of our wedding in Neil’s handwriting. “American Girl” by Tom Petty is our favorite song so having that on a handkerchief (that was used plenty of times throughout the day!) was so special.

Neil and I are so grateful to all the amazing people, vendors and friends and family, that helped make our day so gorgeous and memorable. There was a point at dinner when we looked at each other with huge smiles on our faces and said, “This is exactly everything that we wanted.” We still feel that way every time we look back on our day.

A Stunning Alfresco Celebration in the Middle of the Desert

From watercolor crest infused invitations by Kara Anne Paper to the most picture-perfect, sparkling exit, this Scottsdale celebration is all about romance in the desert. The gorgeous backdrop of the Four Seasons is paired with a soft, pastel color palette + elegant details designed by Imoni Events, and the most stunning florals by Carte Blanche Design. Pore over the magic captured by Daniel Kim and a film by East West all sitting pretty below.

From Daniel Kim Photography… I was born and raised in the desert, and so I have a deep love for all things in this dry landscape. There are times when couples come in and they want lush and green backdrops in a desert landscape, something that is not readily available here. But when Anna and Michael came to the Sonoron Desert, she wanted to actually go out into the raw desert and take her bridals and group shots there, and that made me so happy. Even though there was a bit of wind that day, all the bridesmaids and groomsmen hung out, taking photos themselves out among the cactus and desert brush, and just having an overall good time. Everything came together so well, and I had a blast shooting all the beautiful moments and details from this wedding.

From Kara Anne Paper… Designing all of the custom paper details with Anna and Michael was a dream! We started with the hand painted watercolor crest that was used throughout all of the paper details starting with the Save the Dates and then incorporated in the Formal Wedding Suites and Day-Of details such as koozies, cups, napkins, menus and other signage. Collaborating together was easy, as we both shared the same overall vision and love for soft pastels, whimsical calligraphy and floral/cactus illustrations. To keep Anna’s ideal vision of a chic, classic and romantic paper suite with a hint of modern elements we used gold foil and letterpress on a beautiful cotton, heavy weight paper. To tie in the venue and lovely Arizona landscape, a watercolor envelope liner was included as well as different shades of white, grey and light blue for the envelopes and insert cards.

As guests arrived for dinner, they were greeted with a personalized escort card with the bride and groom’s custom wax seal. On each place setting, was a full calligraphy style menu with touches of watercolor cactus paintings to compliment the formal wedding suite. For the final touch, silk ribbon was tied around each menu with the guests place cards written in gold calligraphy. All of these custom details combined with the gorgeous reception Imoni Events designed truly made Anna and Michael’s evening one that their friends and family will never forget!

From the Bride and Groom…Michael and I met in college at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. After 4 and half years together, we got engaged in Austin, TX at Mount Bonnell. It was during a weekend getaway that Michael surprised me with for my birthday that fall. He planned a photographer and picnic at the top of the mountain. It was the perfect adventure together and I felt so lucky he planned such a thoughtful weekend!

My family has a vacation home in Scottsdale that together we’ve spent a lot of time visiting over the years. When we started to plan our wedding day, we knew we wanted to plan a fun and intimate weekend for our closest family and friends in a destination we felt they would fall in love with! Some of our most fun and special memories are from the trips we’ve taken to Arizona. So, we couldn’t think of a more perfect place to bring together the most important people in our lives!

Post-wedding, it was so cool to hear how much fun our family and friends had making the weekend a vacation of their own and it meant so much to us that they had such a great time exploring a place that we love so much.

To kick off the weekend, we had our rehearsal dinner outdoor at the historic El Chorro. It was filled with margaritas, colorful flowers, bag toss and beautiful desert views! Our wedding day style was romantic and classic, while incorporating soft details and modern design elements. The Arizona landscape is so extremely beautiful and scenic; we wanted to keep our colors soft and neutral and let the desert speak for itself! We focused on lots of greenery, white flowers with hints of blush and neutrals. We also incorporated light grey and used gold to add a romantic feel.

From the way I wore my hair, to the activities we planned for our guests, we wanted to stay true to ourselves. We both are adventurous and laid back in our style so we wanted everything to be a reflection of that but taken up a notch for such a special day. Our focus for the wedding weekend was centered on experience and making sure everyone had a great time!

The day before the wedding, the guys went dune buggying in the desert… a risky pre-wedding move, but the exact type of thing that defines the way in which we love to experience life together! We also had our Welcome Party at Top Golf Scottsdale because we wanted everyone to let loose and feel comfortable together before the wedding day. Although our venue was up north in the mountains, we chose to have our hotel block in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale so our guests would have an endless amount of things to do without having to rent a car or pay for transportation. Through much of our planning, we put in mind our guests before ourselves because we were so thankful they were making the trip to Arizona, just for us!

Garden Ballroom Romance Is a Wedding Style + This Is How You Do It

Determined to create a romantic garden feel for their Scottsdale nuptials, this couple enlisted the help of Victoria Canada Weddings + Events and Carte Blanche Design, and the result is a ceremony overlooking Camelback Mountain that feels almost enchanted followed by a romantic, ballroom wedding completely transformed by tons of gorgeous florals. It’s all waiting for you right here, thanks to Melissa Jill Photography.

[iframe http://player.vimeo.com/video/225622408 600 338]

From the bride… We wanted our guests to feel like they were coming in town for a “desert escape,” and not just for a wedding. Our guests got to really feel relaxed and pampered. One of our guests told us that our wedding felt more like a vacation to him and his wife. We loved hearing that.

I am obsessed with flowers! I always have to have fresh flowers in the kitchen and living room, so I really wanted flowers to be a huge part of our wedding. I wanted the feel of the florals to be very soft and romantic, with lots of greenery, white, ivory, and blush. All of my wedding dreams came true – we were able to truly showcase the desert during our ceremony and cocktail hour while also adding in a total garden feel with tons of flowers everywhere. The garden didn’t stop there though, as we transformed a traditional ballroom into what felt like an indoor garden.

I think what made our wedding unique were the personal touches that both Jon and I wanted incorporated as well as the attention to detail that was executed by Victoria and her team. For example, our wedding combined the feeling of an enchanted garden with elegance, such as in the watercolor paper products featuring calligraphy. We even had a custom watercolor sign incorporating our labrodoodle, Wrigley, that we used for our signature cocktail.

One of our most favorite moments of the reception was when The JJ’s (our INCREDIBLE, FUN, ENGAGING, ALL AROUND AMAZING band) called Jon and I up on stage for the song “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey. It was so exhilarating to be up on stage with them and looking out at all of our guests.

Jon and I decided not to write our own vows for the ceremony and instead decided to write notes to each other to read before our first look. Reading his note to me (which was more like vows) was more emotional than I thought and made me just that much more excited for our first look. I also decided to write notes to my mom and dad the morning of the wedding, and writing to them and then giving them the notes was also particularly emotional for me.

From Victoria Canada Weddings + EventsUpon arrival, guests were greeted with a one-of-a-kind desert themed welcome bag. Guests were given custom watercolor maps that outlined the different locations for the wedding weekend and areas that guests may want to visit. The bag included mini chips and salsa from a local company, an artisan cactus shaped cookie from Ruze Cake House, mini Arizona sunscreen, and even a recovery kit in a custom bag with the State of Arizona. That was just the beginning of the personal, unique touches that Alison and Jon envisioned to make their wedding a one-of-a-kind experience for them and their guests.

In order to create the overall enchanted garden feeling, we knew that we had to go above and beyond with the floral accents throughout. From the luxurious chuppah to the oversized centerpieces placed on guests’ tables, guests truly felt like they escaped the desert and entered a garden. The lush and opulent florals in front of the band made the dance floor extra special. Tables were adorned with a blue velvet linen from La Tavola that displayed a subtle pattern. The head table and cake table had a blush underlay with an exquisite sequined overlay.

From Melissa Jill PhotographyJon and Alison’s story is a modern-day fairytale romance! They first “met” when they matched on a dating app. Jon reached out and Alison replied, but due to some technology issues, Jon didn’t receive her message. That could have been the end of the story…just another missed connection. But it wasn’t! A short time later, the two matched on a completely different dating app. Talk about a sign, right?! Jon and Alison started talking and made a date to meet in person. It was supposed to be a low-key date for just drinks, but they clicked instantly. Drinks turned into dinner and hours of conversation. Jon drove Alison home that evening, and as he pulled away from her door, he knew – he’d just met the woman he was going to marry!

The Crest This Bride Designed Served as the Inspiration for Her Wedding

When the couple are high school sweethearts, the bride is an artist and designer, and Rachel Solomon is behind the lens, you know it’s going to be a spectacular wedding. Ashley Gain Weddings brought the bride’s colorful, romantic vision to life using the crest she designed as inspiration for the day. The result is one of those galleries we could spend forever in, and we’re oh-so-glad Something New Media was there to capture the celebration on film because we seriously cannot get enough.

Whimsical

From the Bride… Kurt and I are true high school sweethearts from Nebraska. Not only did we grow up in the same town and go to the same high school, but we also continued our relationship into college and endured two years of long distance! After those hard couple of years, Kurt finally made the move and joined me on the East Coast. Since we had literally been together forever and seen each-other grow up, I knew a wedding was in our future.

On December 11th my parents were out visiting us in NYC to take in the holiday season. I was convinced that he was going to propose…I mean, it was the prime opportunity with all the Christmas spirit in the air. As the day passed, and no proposal, I was starting to think this just wasn’t the time. Then, after an evening broadway show, we took a stroll to see the tree at Rockefeller Center all lit up. In front of hundreds of people, he got down on his knee and popped the question! The entire moment was overwhelming but so magical!

We decided to get married in Scottsdale, Arizona, since we had both grown up traveling there to visit family, so it just felt completely right! With the desert hues being so naturally breathtaking, I knew I wanted to stick with a soft, romantic, and neutral palette. I fell in love with The Country Club at D. C. Ranch because it felt Tuscan, remote, and overlooked the city of Scottsdale. After choosing our venue, we found an absolutely incredible wedding planner, Courtney with Ashley Gain Weddings, who helped us with every aspect of planning and of our day.

Being an artist and designer myself, I had a very strong vision of how I wanted our day to look. I started with creating a custom crest for the invitations that we then incorporated into all elements throughout the day such as the cake, cocktail napkins, pillows, and escort card display. Every single detail and special moment of our day was captured perfectly by our photographer Rachel Solomon. For both our flowers and furniture rentals, we used the Flower Studio, which had beautiful pieces that accented the venue perfectly. Their team went above and beyond executing every vision that I had. Another one of my favorite highlights of the day was our wedding cake! Haley with Heartsweet cakes is a true artist and was able to incorporate our crest, linens, and sugar flowers onto the cake.It was truly a spectacular piece of art!

All of the amazing details aside, the most important part of our day was the Christ-centered ceremony. We flew in our pastor, Dave, from Nashville who had been our mentor growing up and was able to see us evolve as a couple. Dave made the entire day so much more meaningful, and it would not have been anything without him. We feel truly blessed to have had such wonderful family and friends who traveled long distances just to celebrate with us, along with our incredible team of vendors who executed my entire wedding vision! We felt so much love on that day and would do anything to repeat it again! Cheers!

From the Ashley Gain WeddingsPlanning Libby and Kurt’s wedding was a true dream. Libby already had a great vision for her day and was so easy going. The entire planning process was so joyful and fun! Libby is an amazingly talented artist and was able to incorporate her ideas into all of the stationery and print work for her big day. She created a custom logo that included a crest and monogram, and it matched her florals and linens perfectly! All of her details really stood out and complemented the entire day so beautifully! As much as I loved the design work, the venue, and the amazing 10 piece band, the one thing that stood out the most was the love that Libby and Kurt have for each other. It is so effortless, and I know it’s a love that will be everlasting.

Indoor vs. Outdoor Wedding: Here’s How You Can Have It All

We know that finding the perfect venue can be a little tricky. Especially if you are torn between gorgeous outdoor party vs. luxe indoor celebration. But who says you can’t have it all? With sweet spots like the Elk Camp on Snowmass, that mountaintop ceremony you’ve always dreamed of with the convenience of an indoor party spot is there for the taking. Done and done.

We totally understand the need to celebrate your Biggest Moment amongst the fresh mountain air and awe-inspiring scenery… some of our fave weddings here at SMP are outdoor I do’s.  But if you’re also drawn to the ease of an indoor reception, well… we get that, too. Which is why we love the Elk Camp on Snowmass, a one-stop-shop for all your celebration needs with gorgeous grounds for tying the knot and an amazing space (for up to 250 guests!) that can handle your post-nuptial party – yummy food selections, a gondola ride and blazing fire included.

For more information on the Elk Camp on Snowmass, contact ASC Catering to talk all things wedding. Their fab team of wedding pros will be there to help you with everything from customizable menus to finding the right vendors to the details of planning. Contact them now to get the ball rolling on your dream day.
