The bride's cousin, Patrick Mel, was the designer of this summer chic wedding celebration. It was important to the couple to source things locally, and they collaborated with the NY floral market for the birch trees that they then planted in their yard, and the florals came from a local flower farm, Tiny Hearts. They wanted the bright and vibrant colors to speak to the joyful atmosphere that they created as they were surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of the Hudson Valley. They wanted all of their friends and family to experience the area that the bride and her family had grown up enjoying. They used natural wood tones, earthenware mise en place, and rattan elements to add texture and warmth to the space. We wanted the space to feel like an elevated extension of their home under the beautiful sailcloth tent.
In place of a wedding cake, we had ice cream sandwiches instead!
Their vintage Defender was one of their favorite things about being at the mountain house, and they decided to do a send off in at the end of the ceremony and drive it down the hill to the tent while their guests followed them to the reception.
They used little honey pots with customized stickers as the escort cards.
The wedding ended with an amazing fireworks show over the pond.
