Stylish and Romantic Hudson Valley Wedding Weekend at Cedar Lakes Estate
We wanted a classic, fresh, pretty, romantic vibe that matched the outdoors by the lake where our ceremony was – oh, and lots of candles!
My college friend was in from out of town, so a group of us were going to brunch. As a setup, a few days before, my friends changed the plan and decided to also invite everyone’s husbands/fiancés. So, I asked Adrian to come to brunch with us! It was the perfect excuse for us to walk towards Washington Mews (a pretty street in NYC), where Adrian proposed. I was shocked and had no clue. Adrian then organized a huge party with all our friends and family right after. It was such an amazing day!
It was hard, but once I found it, I knew! I didn’t have a vision for it, so when I would look for dresses, I didn’t know what I wanted, but I knew once I tried something, it wasn’t what I wanted (lol). I love fashion, so I knew I had to find the perfect dress that was me! I was at my first appointment at Mark Ingram after going to a few other places before, and another customer had asked them to have a sample (of what ended up being my dress) sent to Mark Ingram. The dress was only there for a week or so, so it was the right place, right time for me to be there! I tried it on and the sample fit perfectly – I was in love! The sample was a runway sample, so it wasn’t lined, and I loved the vibe so much I ended up keeping it un-lined (which sounds crazy). I spent all year trying to find the perfect undergarment to wear – and I did! I wore a nude Skims body suit with nude Skims leggings (which essentially created a catsuit), and it was perfect. You couldn’t see it, and it kept intact the beautiful look of the dres, streamlined
For the wedding party, we went classic, all the bridesmaids wore any black dress they wanted and the groomsman wore black tuxes. It looked simple, clean, and elegant!
Friday night was the famous CLE BBQ, and Saturday night was a delicious sit-down dinner with short rib and salmon. The cocktail hour was incredible!! We served espresso martinis on the dance floor at the end of the night - our favorite!
We did seasonal colors on Friday night, the room looked gorgeous. Lots of flowers hanging from the ceiling. Saturday night we did white and green - lots of roses (we are Mrs rose) and candles for a classic, romantic vibe. The reception room had so many roses hanging from the ceiling. The aisle had huge floral arches leading up to the chuppah, which looked incredible and looked perfect with the setting of the amphitheater. And the after party was insane! Best florist ever!!!!!!!!!!
Cedar Lakes baked a delicious yellow cake with vanilla frosting and our florist decorated it with flowers that matched the room!
