With the Bride’s Childhood Home as the Perfect Backdrop, the Vision of Southern Elegance Came to Life
With the bride’s childhood home as the perfect backdrop, the vision of southern elegance came to life. The ceremony was effortless and impactful, with a blush drape hanging two stories high on the front porch framing the bride and groom while they said their vows. The reception was an intentional, balanced compilation of the bride’s favorites - pink, stripes, and bows. The wedding planner, Maggie Counce with Counce and Company, designed and brought the vision to life.
This was my dream dress and what I had always pictured myself getting married in. The dress is "Queen" by Monique Lhuillier. It is a timeless dropped waist silk duchess satin ball gown that was customized from a scoop neck to straight across neckline. The train was what made me fall in love with the gown. As I walked down the aisle, I felt so elegant and beautiful.
For the bride, growing up in a small town meant you had your favorite restaurant you frequented at least once a week. Wood's place is not only the bride's favorite but is a local favorite among many in Camden. The southern-style comfort food, topped off with personal special touches from the owners, was a perfect fit for our wedding. Dinner was served in food stations consisting of beef tenderloin, soft shell crab, fried chicken, jumbo shrimp, Mediterranean pasta, and a fruit tower. An open bar was provided for guest to choose their favorite beverage of choice. Dessert was cake with a variety of flavors of strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla.
Pattern play was carefully chosen and worked into the design. The bride's love for stripes was at the center, with a gorgeous blush and white striped linen on the head table as a focal point in the tent. The perfect pink was chosen for all of the bar and stage structure, and they served as the backdrop for the stunning floral final layer - orchids, pink roses, peonies, ranunculus, and more. The ruscus that lined the chandeliers was playfully woven into the dance floor design - ruscus vines in a pink checkered pattern.
The wedding was held at the bride’s childhood home. The intimacy of getting married there was so very special and something the bride will cherish forever.
