A Dreamy European-Inspired Wedding at Hummingbird Nest Ranch
In 2021, we had some time between leases for our living situation and decided to get an Airbnb in NYC for three weeks to spend time with our friends on the East Coast. Before the trip, Matt had mentioned wanting to visit the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and made a plan for us to go there four days into our trip (Sept 16, 2021). While we were walking around the rose gardens, he started telling me how grateful he was for me and how happy he was to have met me. He got down on one knee and proposed! He had photographers hidden, and they photographed the whole thing. He also managed to have both our parents as well as a handful of close friends fly into the city. Afterward, he took me to a rooftop in Manhattan with a great view of the city, and I was surprised by ~20 of my closest friends and family. It was one of the best nights of our lives!
The bride wore a timeless, elegant off-the-shoulder gown featuring a delicate, draped neckline in the front, exuding sophistication and romance.
The bridesmaids wore soft, neutral champagne-colored dresses.
The ceremony featured an all-white color scheme, creating an ethereal, almost heavenly ambiance. For the reception, warm neutrals added a cozy, upscale feel, with organic touches like natural vases and stone table numbers bringing in a raw, earthy elegance. The overall aesthetic combined modern sophistication with a romantic, European-inspired atmosphere.
One of the most memorable moments was the final song with guests, where everyone danced and sang together, celebrating the night with full energy. The couple also had a private last dance after the guests had cleared out, allowing them to soak in the moment and reflect on their incredible day.
The couple originally considered hosting their wedding in Italy, so they chose the Sitting Bull area of Hummingbird Nest Ranch for its perfect Tuscany vibe. This setting allowed them to bring their dream European atmosphere to life without leaving California.
