Summer Wedding in Tahoe With Traditional Southern Charm at the Timbers at Old Greenwood
The bride hired the planning team, Jenn Robirds Events, to handle the wedding from start to finish. From finding the perfect venue to uncovering the bride's style, Jenn and her team meticulously planned every last detail. While Nicolette loves Tahoe, she also gravitated towards traditional Southern wedding charm. With this 'charm' in mind, the design came to life. Starting with the custom stationery from Shimmer and Stain. The letterpress suite with lace cut monogram was everything Nicolette wanted: floral, feminine, and chic. Their traditional interlocked monogram was a statement itself, and found its way in many elements on the wedding day. The reception space was designed to allow for an amazing party. A white dance floor was set in front of a custom stage by It's All in the Details. The lattice detail was yet another nod pulled from the stationery suite liner: intentional, playful, and a pop of the bride's favorite blue. Chandeliers covered in floral drew your eye up to the vaulted ceiling and exposed beams. The juxtaposition of Tahoe lodge style and garden floral motifs existed together in the space with playful intention. The tablescape took guests' breath away. The dinner tables donned a dusty blue embroidered linen from BBJ, which added a subtle texture to the design without being overpowering. White scallop edge chargers were romantic and the perfect layering piece for a coordinated blue linen napkin and unexpected circle menu.
From Nicolette, the Bride: Carson proposed on the beach at Edgewood in South Lake Tahoe, completely surprising me. He hired a photographer to capture the moment and arranged for my parents and sister to join us. That evening, both our families celebrated together over dinner—it was truly perfect.
The bride's dress was Rita Vinieris' gown.
Nicolette first chose a simple chiffon blue gown for her bridesmaids. A tragic theft of the dress delivery required these plans to change. Bella Bridesmaids stepped up and, in less than 2 weeks, sourced the perfect Sachin and Babi gown in ice blue for all the bridesmaids with time to spare for alterations! The bow detail around the waist and the jacquard relief floral pattern seamlessly tied into the wedding day details. The last-minute dresses felt like an intentional pick from the very beginning, and turned out to be the statement the bride never knew she needed.
Upon arrival at the ceremony, guests were greeted with tray-passed Champagne. Bubbles set the tone for a festive soiree as live music played in the background while guests eagerly awaited the timeless bride to emerge. Post the nuptials, guests were welcomed to cocktail hour with the couple's favorite drinks: a spicy margarita for the bride and a dirty martini for the groom. The passed appetizers had a little bit for everyone: lamb lollipops, truffle mushroom tarts, vibrant spring rolls, and mini twice-baked potatoes, which were the request of the Father of the Bride. Dinner featured short ribs with garlic mashed potatoes, salmon with a summer corn ragout, and pine nut crusted chicken breast. Late-night guests noshed on a nacho bar with all of the fixings.
The bride wanted romantic and timeless florals at her wedding. Zuri floral design delivered on just that with fluffy summer blooms featuring clematis, garden roses, hydrangeas, dahlias, and delphinium for a pop of blue. The ceremony arch was a showstopper and framed the picturesque Lake Tahoe mountain range backdrop. The reception flower tablescape featured tall, dramatic arrangements set atop stunning, ridged, fluted vases. Lamps added a warm glow to the space, and the flicker of candlelight against the glass vases added whimsy well into the night. The bride's bouquet was a favorite moment for the planning team: soft, feminine, and designed to complement her stunning gown. Tied in hand-dyed silk ribbon, it was the perfect complement to Nicolette's classic style.
Paris Custom Cakes took Jenn Robird's vision and brought it to life. A tall, slender cake added height to the design. The color matched blue base featured the perfect floral motif, while smooth white fondant was well suited to Nicolette's timeless aesthetic. Fresh floral from Zuri was organically placed and added whimsy to the design.
The couple's uncle married them in a perfect personalized ceremony. They chose to read their vows to one another. When the bride and groom joined the dinner reception, they joyfully entered to the song "Paper Rings" by Taylor Swift. Nicolette's bubbly personality shone in this moment, and the energy in the space was palpable, with guests out of their seats cheering them on. "You" by Dan and Shay was the perfect romantic first dance song performed by the band. The bridal party surrounded the couple for this moment, which made it even more special for the newlyweds.
#1: Rain made its way into the wedding day. The skies miraculously cleared moments before the guest's arrival for the ceremony. Jenn Robirds' planning team sprang into action to stage the details and wait for the clouds to clear. Every season was felt that day, but in the end, nature made way for the most picturesque ceremony backdrop of the summer. Even amidst the midday showers, the bride was joyful and calm. Their first look brought the couple to tears and remained a favorite moment of the entire day. Scott and Dana Photographers worked in the elements and captured every detail with grace and style. Nicolette and Carson's wedding is testimony that if you hire the right wedding vendor team, solutions will always be found and managed so that, as the bride and groom, you can enjoy the moment and be present, no matter the circumstances!
Nicolette and Carson adore their sweet Frenchie, and though he wasn't able to be in the wedding party, he did accompany Nicolette during getting ready and the moments leading up to the ceremony. They also made sure that he was included in the festivities by having his picture printed on wooden stir sticks at the bar.
