Elegant White Coastal Wedding at Rosemary Beach
A clear tent was placed on a green in Rosemary Beach. Our vision was modern, classy, with lots of greenery and white flowers. The large rectangular center table for the wedding party had hanging lanterns, and the tablecloth at this table matched my wedding dress.
The designer is Dessy Group, and they were purchased from Bella Bridesmaids Birmingham. I wanted my two maids of honor to look different, so their dresses were halter-neck style, with the rest of the bridesmaids in one-shoulder gowns. All bridesmaids were in taupe-colored gowns.
The groomsmen were dressed in tuxedos, including dress shirts without studs or cummerbunds for a modern look. All were given monogrammed black dressocks with their initials.
We regularly enjoy espresso martini and the old fashioned and we thought they would be fitting signature drinks for a winter wedding. We had a seated dinner provided by KBC Catering where guests selected either a Snapper Pontchartrain with lump crab or a chimichurri filet mignon. During the cocktail hour, signature drinks with champagne were served with light hors d'oeuvres before the open bar.
Décor included modern white sofas with heater lamps. A personalized dance floor with “R & H” with rosemary leaves was selected to match the white drink bars and wedding invitations. Table numbers were created using childhood photos of the bride and groom at ages 1-12.
Cake was prepared by Barb’s Cakes and was made of modeling chocolate and edible paint. It was a buttercream ice cake featuring a small version of our British Shorthair cat. The groomsmen cake was 90% edible and was a doctor’s white coat (26” tall) that was presented standing.
A cigar bar with multiple cigars and cutting tools was included as a surprise for the bride’s father. Coffee cart by Coastal Coffee Company. The signature coffee drinks were a Mexican chili mocha and a winter mint mocha. Milk art with an “S” initial was included on the guest’s drink.
An antique telephone was placed at the bar, provided by Leave a Message 30A, where guests could record messages for the bride and groom. This meant a lot to us to have the chance to hear from our family and our guests long into the future.
The night concluded with tacos, Bushwaker cocktails, and donuts from my favorite donut shop, Charlie’s Donuts 30A. Every time we visit the beach, we get breakfast at Charlie’s, and the donuts are the best we’ve ever had. Each guest had one glazed and one chocolate.
