Whispers of Decadence: A Romantic Wedding in Ireland at Gloster House

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
We instantly fell in love with our Venue Gloster House and its grounds. We knew Gloster House was already a stunning venue that spoke for itself, so we focused on enhancing its timeless charm. To complement its period features, we incorporated cascading wild hydrangeas and clean, textured stationery, adding refined yet natural touches. Connor and Lori’s love of music filled the high ceilings of Gloster House with a String Quartet playing for guests upon arrival and throughout the day.
Proposal Story
After Lori and I spent a love-filled weekend at my sister’s wedding in Seville, I knew I wanted to make the moment even more special. Having known Lori for many years, starting from our time working together as teenagers in our local shop, it felt right to continue the love story. On a sunny mid evening in Seville, I proposed to Lori in the magical Cathedral de Seville, surrounded by art and candlelight—everything Lori loves. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable week. Our hearts will forever be in Seville.
The Fashion
Wedding Gown
With Lori’s background as a bridal designer, she has always been inspired by period influences. She designed a stunning, intricate Juliette bodice, paired with an oyster satin skirt and jacket, all detailed with lace from Philadelphia. The ensemble was created in her own bridal design house in Ireland, www.lorimuldoon.com. Lori also designed and made a beautiful Cathedral veil to complete the look. Her shoes were Magda Butrym satin mules, adding the perfect finishing touch. Expertly crafted by Matthew Tanner, the period-inspired dress was everything she had ever dreamed of.
Bridesmaid Dresses
Lori designed both bridesmaid dresses with clean, structured silhouettes featuring a bodice and skirt, complemented by soft, delicate textured organza details. It was a classic yet modern approach to bridal style.
Groomsman Attire
Connor drew inspiration from Spanish tailoring for his look. His bespoke double-breasted French navy blazers were crafted with custom gold buttons, paired with pale blue pinstriped shirts and a French navy tie. He completed the outfit with a pair of Gucci shoes.
The Details
Food & Drink
Lori and Connor fell in love with the experience of being hosted at Chef Val and Jacinta, of Green Olive, home. We were treated to an intimate tasting menu. Inspired by this, they hosted a beautiful, intimate dinner with close friends and family in the Garden room at Gloster House. They sourced their wine from London, and the menu was inspired by fine dining, featuring locally sourced Irish ingredients.
Florals & Decor
The florals were cascading ivory hydrangeas, a favourite of Lori’s grandmother. The decor featured a blend of textured ivory handmade papers and frayed silks, creating a sophisticated yet layered look. The styling was enhanced with tapered candles, adding a warm, romantic glow. Lori and Connor also created their own signature scent, which filled the space, making the day even more memorable. The vision was to keep everything classic, with an emphasis on rich, textured details throughout.
Wedding Cake
The wedding cake was designed to resemble a porcelain sculpture, crafted with silky white chocolate ganache and filled with passion fruit and raspberry sponge. Lori included some of her own handcrafted made by Lori Irish porcelain to complete the aesthetic of the cake.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
The ceremony took place in the stunning white chapel at Gloster. Connor and Lori included a candlelight tribute to honour his late father, Gerard, and Lori’s late friend, Cassie. The music, orchestrated by a string quartet, featured songs like Enya’s “May It Be” and “She Moved Through the Fair” by Sinead O’Connor. For their first dance, Lori’s sister, Chloe Muldoon, sang an acoustic version of “Latch.”
Special Detail #1
On the morning of the wedding, Lori gifted Connor a pocket square she had made from his late father’s shirt. It was a heartfelt touch, allowing Connor to have his father with him on such a special day. Connor’s also wore a tie pin and gold watch that belonged to his father.
Special Detail #2
The night before their wedding, Connor and Lori gathered close friends and family for an intimate black-tie, candlelit dinner in the speakeasy at Gloster. It was the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together before the big day.
