A Classic Autumn in New York Wedding at 620 Loft and Garden

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

Our overall vision was to keep the style as minimal as possible but also incorporate it with the grandness of St. Patrick's. There were three things that determined the wedding, Church—as my husband is Catholic, Baby’s Breaths— my favorite flower, and my wedding dress— which I knew was the one before I met my husband.

Proposal Story

My husband knew that I wanted the proposal to be intimate (meaning I didn’t want a crowded audience) but also has to be recorded in some ways because it’s a precious piece of memory. Although I knew the proposal was coming at some point, it still came as a total surprise. He rented out the entire IPIC at Fulton Market (our go-to movie theater), but I didn’t even notice anything wrong with having basically no one when we arrived there. He had a videographer in the front row, but I just thought it was probably someone who was authorized to record the movie. I didn’t feel odd about seeing anybody in the audience because the same thing happened to my mom when we went to watch the last Harry Potter movie when it first came out—a great coincidence and did an amazing favor to John to ensure the proposal remained a surprise. After settling, John went to the bathroom and the recorded video of our memory started playing on the screen. He took a whole day to take photos of all the places that held special memories for us while holding a whiteboard saying “our first date,” “we moved in,” and etc … well, i was crying mid-way watching it, and at the end, he came out with a whiteboard saying “will you marry me?” Of course, I said yes at the end, but the funny thing is that we both completely forgot what we said in the middle! After the proposal, we stayed and watched the movie “Free Guy,” and now it’s one of our favorite movies of all time.

The Fashion
Wedding Gown
The ceremony dress was the Rhea dress from Ersa Atelier. It was the dress I saw on instagram when I was still in college, but I just knew it was the one. The reception dress was from Muse by Berta. I got both dresses from L’Fay Bridal in manhattan.
The Details
Food & Drink

Gloria & John's wedding was a true NYC affair. They literally looked like Cinderella and Prince Charming when they arrived at the reception! They opted for classic dishes that suited their upscale, refined aesthetic, such as Mini Lobster Rolls, Vegan Stuffed Cucumber, and Smoked Salmon Rillettes at cocktail hour. For dinner guests sat down to Pan Roasted Salmon with Leeks and White Wine Broth, and Wine Braised Beef Short Rib with Crispy Onions. The couple ended the evening with seasonal, fruity sweets made freshly in-house, including Lemon Curd Tartlets and Hibiscus Glazed Mini Doughnuts.

Florals & Decor

When you walked into the reception space at 620 Loft and Garden, white orchids filled the space making the entire ballroom area look surreal. Gloria and John's vision was executed by Meena from 5th Avenue Weddings and Events.

Wedding Cake

3-tier cake – 6", 8", and 10" in diameter – with coconut layers, latte filling, and vanilla chiffon frosting. The smooth frosting finish provided the perfect "canvas" for the florist
