A Modern Take On a NYC Autumn Wedding at Brooklyn Boathouse That Meg Ryan Would Approve Of

The Planning
The Inspiration
As Meg Ryan said in the 1998 film You’ve Got Mail, don’t you just love New York in the fall? This boathouse editorial in Brooklyn’s prospect park is the perfect modern take on a NYC fall wedding.

The Fashion
Wedding Gown
In order to honor the fashion capital of the US, we knew we wanted our bride to wear a dress that was sleek and sophisticated. The ceremony look was a Newhite design with the most stunning satin, crinkle corset while the reception look was a fitted gown with sculptural elements from Renhue. Both dresses were paired with cherry red Prada heels which allowed for the most vibrant pop of color to complete the looks.
The Details
Florals & Decor
The most showstopping part of the day was the color blocked tablescape inside the boathouse. Hues of red, yellow, orange, pink, and green lined the table and were all brought together with tasteful black accents. Every 6 feet of the tablescape started a fresh color palette which corresponded with the napkin color. Nava floral is NYC based and was the florist who brought together planner and designer, Britt Jones, vision.
Favorite Design Element
To grab a seat at this stunning table, we created an intricate seating chart that looked like a bird cage with bird origamis as the escort cards. The Sangria Aviara table linen from Nuage designs had the most beautiful bird chinoiserie pattern so we chose to reiterate this into the seating chart.”
