A Joyful and Vibrant Wedding at Ritz Carlton Zadun Reserve in Cabo

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]I always envisioned the reception to be colorful and vibrant to exude a sense of joy and excitement. My wish was for

everyone to dance the night away, and I think the colors really encouraged everyone to celebrate and enjoy. Even the

dance floor was decorated with a customized floral design that especially drew guests in.[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]How did you choose your wedding venue? Cabo is where we took our first trip together and really fell in love, so we

felt it was only fitting to get married in our special place. We chose Zadún because of the beautiful property and

atmosphere, not to mention their impeccable customer service that made our guests and us feel like royalty.

Did your wedding have a theme? If so, how did you choose it? When we think of Cabo, we think of joy, color, fun,

warmth, and love. That’s what it represents to us, so we wanted to share that feeling and experience with all our

guests. We opted to arrange the guest’s seats during the ceremony in a u shape surrounding the chuppah so that the

ceremony felt very intimate. Our goal was to create an environment where everyone felt a sense of community and

connection. The flowers on the walking path and on the chuppah felt like we were in a secluded garden. We chose to

keep the rehearsal dinner at Acre Resort in more neutral tones so that our wedding day and reception really popped.

Did you incorporate any religious and/or cultural traditions into your ceremony? We incorporated Jewish traditions,

such as circling the groom seven times and breaking the glass. We got married under a beautiful, floral chuppah with

Robert’s late uncle’s tallis draped to create the roof. We also handed our guests yamakas with our wedding date

engraved on the inside.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]How did you meet, and how long did you date before getting engaged? We met through the dating app, Hinge, but

coincidentally had gone to the same preschool, summer camp and K-12 school our whole lives up until college. We

both moved away for years until returning to Dallas. Robert is 5 years older, so we hadn’t known each other but

discovered endless ways our paths have crossed with mutual connections. We like to think we unknowingly must have

walked past each other dozens of times throughout our lives. We dated for a little over a year before getting engaged.

Length of engagement: 10 months.

Who proposed? When and how? Robert proposed while[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Who designed your dress? Mira Zwillinger

Who designed your rings? Herbert Goldberg Company

Who designed your shoes?

Bride: Jimmy Choo

Groom: Christian Louboutin

Did you wear any other special jewelry or accessories? I wore my mother’s diamond earrings as my something

borrowed. As my something blue, during the reception, I changed into customized Miron Crosby blue metallic cowboy

boots. The boots had our wedding date and initials engraved on the outside and a special note sewn inside from

Robert that I waited to read until our wedding day.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bridesmaid’s dresses? I asked my bridesmaids to choose from a color palette of red, orange, and pink. I did not

have any requirements about where they bought their dress or a specific style. I wanted them to choose any dress

they felt most comfortable and beautiful wearing.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]How did you choose your table decor? Since the reception was on the beach, I wanted the table décor to enhance

the natural beauty of the beach. I wanted the tables to look playful and fun, so we opted for colorful hand painted

patterned plates and place settings that exuded the amazing energy of Cabo. The menus were personalized to each

guest and offered a coordinating pop of color. The flower arrangements on the tables were colorful, substantial but

not distracting. Taking a step back to admire the flowers, table décor, and glowing candles made me feel like I was in a

dream.

What flowers did you use in the bouquet and at the venue? Roses, Ranunculus and Lisiantus. A couple of seasonal

wild flowers too.

Please describe your bouquets and any other flowers used to decorate (specific names of the flowers). Red

rannunculus, pink lisianthus, hot pink bouganvilea, pink roses, orange wild flowers

Each member of the bridal party had a different bouquet that was a variation of the color palette. I wanted to make

each bridesmaid feel special and for it to be a fun experience for them.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Papantla Vainilla filled with Vanilla Cream and Covered and decorated with buttercream flowers to be in

red, orange and hot pink[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Did friends and family contribute to the ceremony in any way? If so, how? Robert’s older sister, Kathryn, was our

officiant. One strong thread that bonds Robert and me together is our emphasis and love for family, so it felt

extremely important and meaningful for us to have a family member conduct our ceremony. Kathryn did an incredible

job leading an intimate and meaningful ceremony- exactly how we wanted it to be and feel.

Did you do a “first look” before the ceremony? If no, why?

Yes, which was a very special moment for us- we both cried.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]What did you use as your escort cards and/or place cards?

We used local artisan glass blown color coordinated hearts to display the escort cards. We wanted guests to have

something special to take home and remember the amazing weekend. We hoped to create a special place in their

hearts for Cabo, just as Robert and I experienced on our very first trip together.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Please describe about 3 personal touches:

1. We provided polaroid cameras for guests to take pictures and put in our guest book. Someone took a polaroid

picture of our first dance, which we will treasure forever.

2. I loved wearing my cowboy boots and bringing a little Texas to Cabo.

3. Robert gifted special bowties to his father-in-law, father, and groomsmen.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Please describe about 4 favorite moments:

1. We surprised our guests with fireworks that went off to the chorus of the song “Without you” by Avicii as we cut

our wedding cake. Watching our guests’ excited reactions and feeling their energy can only be described as pure

magic.

2. When I got on the band’s stage with my friends, we were enthusiastically dancing until politely asked to get down as

the stage was about to collapse- worth it for those few minutes though.

3. We both described feeling calm and very present while standing under the chuppah during our ceremony. Listening

to the ocean waves, Kathryn’s soothing voice, and feeling the ocean breeze all flowed into a feeling of peace, as if we

were exactly where we were meant to be.

4. During the reception, Robert pulled me aside to stand back and take a moment to observe everyone on the dance

floor. I’m so grateful we made a point to appreciate that moment and take a mental snapshot we’ll never forget.

What did you learn from the experience?

There is nothing more special than having everyone you love in one place at once and watching both your worlds

mesh in the best way possible.

If you could sum up your wedding day in one sentence, how would you describe it?

Being with all of our loved ones dancing, smiling, and radiating joy truly embodied our love of family and felt like

home.[/field]
