Laid Back Summer Wedding on Nantucket at Sankaty Head Golf Club
Matching their personalities, Alie & Andrew's wedding was the epitome of laid-back Summer on Nantucket vibes. While the family and guests enjoyed low-key and easy energy, the design and decor was nothing short of incredible. And no Nantucket wedding is complete without a trip to the Whaling Museum and Lighthouse!
Alie wore a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown that was truly a showstopper. From it's unique off-the-shoulder shape to the intricate lace detail it was one I'll never forget. And who couldn't love those lace sleeves!
Her maid of honor wore an elegant and simple midi dress featuring a light green and white floral pattern, to match the wedding colors and blooms of the day.
Surrounded by candlelight and wildflowers, the cocktail hour and reception offered delicious catering from Sankaty Head Golf Club's kitchen. Small bites and passed hors d'oeuvres included fresh seafood and cheeses, while the bar was stocked with local craft beer and wines. Green patterned and white floral plates held a farm-to-table garden salad for course one, followed by chicken roulade and shrimp scampi.
Heather of Birds of a Flower truly outdid herself on this one, starting out by foraging lots of local flowers in bloom to add an extra special touch. Stunning flower displays were seen throughout the entire day. First, with Alie's all white and green bouquet, and then after the ceremony we saw the family vintage jeep decked out with white flowers - creating the perfect getaway car (and some stunning images by the Nantucket lighthouse!) In the grand reception tent, every table was set with all white & clear glass centerpieces overflowing with the same blooms found in the bridal bouquet. Each table also featured a charming needle pointed table number, made to look like leaves and garden flowers. Green leaves and small tea lights were strung around the tent edges further adding to the elegance and summer charm.
