A Splash of Bright Colors and Lush Florals at Villa la Joya in Mexico
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
I wanted the theme to be bright and fun. I was very passionate about the flowers being as colorful as possible. I wanted to incorporate the Mexican vibes as well, so we had mariachi band play for everyone.
Proposal Story
Joseph and I met on a 1935 wooden classic motor yacht in Rhode Island in the summer of 2018. Joseph was interviewing me for the position of stewardess on the yacht, and I was swooned by him. We fell fast in love within the tight quarters and romantic setting of a classic motor yacht.

Special Detail #1
It was very important to my husband and I that we be close to the ocean for the ceremony, and even more important that we were able to accomodate all of our friends and family in an intimate setting. The marble interior of the Villa is such a beautiful work of art, and really made a statement in our wedding photos.
Special Detail #2
The first trip we ever took together was to Tulum, Mexico in 2018, and we have the best memories from the trip. We drove from Tulum to Holbox in a rental car, swam in the cenotes, rode electric bikes on the beach in Tulum, and went sky diving in Playa del Carmen. We often reminisce about what a great trip that was adn how much fun we had together.
