A Mamma Mia-Worthy Wedding in Spring on the Small Island of Syros, Greece
The couple were planning to get married in 2021 but they had to cancel it due to coronavirus. Their wedding was eventually planned for the 29th of May 2022 and it was marvellous in every way. The British couple traveled with their families and friends to Syros Island, which is very special for the couple, and got married at Ermoupolis Town Hall. Chris's wedding ring is antique in the family and Nadia's is made from Carter and Follows Brighton. The Town Hall of Ermoupolis on Miaouli Square is one of the largest and most impressive Town Halls in all of Greece. It was built in 1876 under the supervision of Ernst Ziller and costed a very large for the time! This is a very unique building with a three-storey facade on the side of the square and two-storey facade on the back side of the building which bears striking details, two wings with five vertical window shafts left and right, overhangs, towers, and more generally a typical architecture inspired by 3 different architectural styles. The Tuscan style is featured on the 1st floor with the imposing staircase of 15.5 meters in width, the Ionic style is found on the 2nd floor, and the Corinthian that can be observed in the towers. The couple chose Syros as Chris’s Grandparents built a villa on the island in the 70’s and his family come on holiday there every year. They love it's incredibly friendly people, charm and it’s beauty. The first time they visited the island together, eight years ago before the wedding, they said if they ever got married, it would be there, and they were excited to share this special place with all their friends and family.
