Evergreen Style and the Bride’s Love of Christmas Influenced the Final Look of Their Wedding Day

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
Because their wedding was in December, Natalie & Brad wanted to find a way to embrace the holidays that didn't feel too literal, Christmas-y or tacky. They chose to incorporate subtle winter elegance, with evergreen touches, cozy details & fun nods to Christmas.
Proposal Story
The the words of the bride, "Brad and I were on a ski trip to Vail, CO when we got engaged. It was a beautiful sunny day and we were having a great time on the slopes. As we were riding the chair lift up the mountain, we looked at the map to see what slope we wanted to ski. We saw there was a slope called “Christmas”, so of course we chose that one since I especially love Christmas. About half way down the run, Brad asked me to stop and take a picture. Before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Ten months later, we were getting married at Christmas!"
The Fashion
Wedding Gown
The bride, Natalie, wore a Watters wedding gown with gorgeous floral appliqué detailing. It fit her stylish, joyful personality perfectly.
Bridesmaid Dresses
The bridesmaids were in evergreen hues that complimented the season and bride so beautifully. The dresses also have a lot of texture and flow, and in a lot of ways, felt like a part of the evergreen decor.
The Details
Food & Drink
The wedding featured a "Poinsettia" champagne cocktail and "An Old-Fashioned Christmas" - fun holiday take on an old-fashioned. In addition to their wedding cake, part of their dessert was a cookie table with homemade cookies from their friends and family.
Florals & Decor
The florals and decor were subtly Christmas & wintery. They included lots of evergreen and cream and had decorated pine trees and wreaths tastefully placed throughout the venue.
Wedding Cake
The wedding cake was simple & creamy in style, reminiscent of snow, with a bow to give it extra charm.
Special Detail #1
During the reception, the couple passed a South African cream liqueur during the reception, honoring Brad's South African heritage. The bride and groom gave a toast with it to open up festivities.
Special Detail #2
Small but special added details made this wedding unique to the couple. For cocktail hour, they had custom napkins, drink stirrers, and santa hat cocktail toppers.
