The overall vision for our wedding was to allow our guests to experience the love we have for the mountains. Most of our guests have never been to Colorado. So when it came time to decide on where to get married, it seemed fitting to choose the same state where we had our first trip together as well as where David proposed. Come wedding day we wanted the mountains to be the main “decor” with touches of natural floral hues. Looking back, the vibe for that day was love in the mountains.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]David and I had been together for 4 years at this point. We decided to take a trip with my family to Colorado for my birthday. The week was filled with adventurous hikes, horseback riding, and late nights by the fire. But little did I know that my dream of being proposed to in the mountains was about to come true. On the day of my birthday we packed up our lunch and decided to hike up to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Once we arrived at the lake with picturesque mountain views, David got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Saying yes was the easiest decision I have ever made.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]It took endless searching for that perfect wedding dress, but for some reason none of them felt like they were the one. Until one day I was scrolling through my mood board and came across a dress by Alena Leena that I was always drawn to. So I called around to a few shops to see who carried the dress and ended up at A&Be Bridal that next day. The moment I had put it on I just knew this was the one. In the end I ended up choosing the dream dress that I had saved on my phone months prior to searching.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Each one of my bridesmaids is so unique and has impacted my life in different ways, so I wanted their dresses to reflect that. I told them my vision for wanting natural hues and floral detailing, from there they just knew which dresses to look for. As for my maid of honor, she was my something blue.[/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]David bought his suit from Jos A Bank and it was the perfect look for what we envisioned. We wanted a more natural color and texture so we chose a tan linen suit for David and a light gray for the groomsmen.

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The signature drinks were a special detail to our wedding day. We had “The Charlie,” a smoked old fashion and “The Lizzy” a c’est la vie. Not only were they delicious and our usual drink order, but it was also a way to incorporate our dogs in our wedding since they were not able to be there with us.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]I wanted something unique, soft, romantic, and garden style for our florals and decor. Think French provincial but in the mountains of Colorado. I chose to incorporate potted plants throughout the venue for a more natural/organic look while also wanting to bring them back home with us to replant in our garden. I had told Calla Lane Florist my vision and they did a beautiful job creating a floral design that would complement the rest of the decor.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Lemon Lavender and Chocolate cake have always been our favorite flavors. But what made our wedding cake extra special was that my mom made it for us. She has been a professional baker ever since I was a little girl so having someone else make our cake wasn’t even in the picture.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Having my brother officiate our wedding made our ceremony more meaningful and personable. What I loved most was the feeling of stepping back in time as he told stories of David and I’s relationship blossoming over the years. As for our music we chose Texas Capital DJ to play the violin during our ceremony and it couldn’t have felt any more magical.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Being a wedding planner and planning my own wedding definitely had its perks. What made the day more beautiful was how I was able to see it all unfold through the eyes of being a bride. Not only was I already familiar with the planning process but I was able to take all the details I had loved when planning other weddings and add them into ours. I couldn’t have planned our dream wedding any other way.

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]My goal when planning my wedding was to make sure David and I enjoyed every moment with each other and our guests. Just the thought of all our close relatives and friends in one place celebrating our love for eachother seemed like pure bliss. Looking back not only do I wish I could relive it, but I am grateful at the fact that we were present during every moment. For that we will savor those memories for the rest of our lives.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Our exit was actually a surprise to us. Stand By Me by Ben E. King began to play as all of our family and friends gathered around us on the dance floor for our last dance. At that moment we felt an immense amount of love from all our favorite people. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day.[/field]
