[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]For the overall design of the wedding, we wanted something very tasteful, classy and elegant. We wanted to be able to look at our photos a decade from now and feel like it would still seem timeless. @aweplanning completely understood what we were going for and helped to coordinate the best vendors to bring our vision to life. @amykolophoto and @davidsonfilmco captured the entire day so perfectly allowing us to reminisce on the day for years to come!

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Andy wanted to make sure everything was ‘hidden in plain sight’ so he asked Suzy’s entire family to be in Charlotte for Father’s Day weekend 2023. Andy’s family also snuck down into Charlotte without Suzy knowing. They went to grab a couple drinks before dinner at the Charlotte City Club with one of Suzy’s best friends, who unbeknownst to Suzy was the decoy. Her friend was unfortunately “running a little late” and at that point Andy and Suzy had been requested by the hostess to sit at the table prepared for them. However, the “table” was a private room that Andy and Suzy were escorted to, with floral arrangements, champagne, photographer, and videographer. Afterwards Andy told Suzy they had to drop the flowers off at home to then celebrate with our families at her sister’s house, only to be surprised by both of their entire families at Andy and Suzy’s home.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Suzy was looking for a gown that was simple, comfortable and elegant. She loved the square neckline of her @annebarge dress, the slit in the skirt and who doesn’t love pockets! For her “something blue”, Suzy had always wanted to wear the famous “Sex and the City” blue @manoloblahnik heels. The team at @beautyasylum achieved the best hair and makeup to compliment the dress.
When it came to the reception, Suzy wanted to do something fun and different than the ceremony dress. She chose to go with a white mini dress from @retrofete and changed her hair into a party ponytail.

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Andy and Suzy wanted to showcase two of their favorite meals at Quail Hollow Club, the filet and crab cakes. They made sure every guest was able to enjoy the same dishes they enjoy whenever they have dinner at Quail. The specialty cocktails were presented by their dog, Mack. Mack knew his parents favorite two drinks were the Old Fashioned and the Spicy Skinny Margarita so he wanted to make sure they were able to have them on their special day. The real kicker at the end of the evening was the surprise cigar and bourbon bar. This had been something Andy had wanted to do, just casually set up a bar outside toward the end of the night with good cigars and good bourbon, and it was a major hit! Late night snacks with fries, mini burgers and the famous “hummers” at Quail Hollow club were just what everyone needed prior to departure!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]When it came to decor, flowers were one of the most important things to the couple. The team at @florasoulstudio were able to capture our vision with a beautiful mixture of pastels coupled with lots of baby’s breath sprinkled throughout. The chuppah was executed flawlessly and continued to the reception as an amazing backdrop. The reception tables had a mixture of different florals along with gorgeous blue tapered candles throughout. We added in the blue velvet chairs from @curatedeventscharlotte which really added the best final touch. The couple wanted to incorporate their wedding crest into the day and found small ways to do it by adding it on the programs, menus, cigar wraps and napkins and placed it in the center of the dance floor thanks to @redeyedesigns. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]We wanted a very simple, yet elegant wedding cake that was also delicious! @forgoodnesscakes absolutely brought our vision to life with the classic three tiered white cake with swiss dots and a beaded border.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]We wanted to incorporate our family into our ceremony and thought having our siblings read the Seven Blessings (sheva brachot) was the perfect option. We wanted our ceremony to be intimate and therefore, chose to forego a wedding party and just wanted our parents and the officiant at the chuppah. We chose to go with a violinist and cello playing beautiful music throughout the ceremony. The groom went for a very somber processional song, Ashokan Farewell by Ungar/Mason, while the bride’s procession was the beautiful Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Arlen/Hamburg. Following the ceremony, the bride and groom danced to the reception with the recessional music Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest.
For the reception, some of our favorite memories was the couple’s first dance song to one of the groom’s favorite band, Mango Tree by Zac Brown Band. The Hava Nagila was the best way to kickoff dancing for the evening and ending the night with the 90s Hip Hop Medley from @royalsuitsband was the best!!
