A Quintessential Cape Cod Wedding Day at Chatham Bars Inn

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]The colors for Siri and Austin’s wedding were a beautifully curated blend that reflected both the coastal setting and their personal style. Soft blues, inspired by hydrangeas in various shades, formed the foundation of the palette. These blues ranged from delicate sky tones to deeper oceanic hues, evoking the serene coastal atmosphere. To add contrast and dimension, navy blue was introduced, bringing depth and richness to the overall look. In addition to the blue tones, Botanique added vibrant pops of color

throughout the floral arrangements. Bold hues of pink, orange, and purple brought energy and excitement, while shades of green provided a natural, earthy balance. Warm tones like yellow, peach, and blush transitioned smoothly into the blue-dominant palette, making the arrangement feel seamless and harmonious. Overall, the palette not only reflected the couple’s love for the ocean but also brought in playful, vibrant elements that made the day feel joyful and uniquely theirs.[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Siri and Austin envisioned a “Cape Cod Chic” wedding, blending the charm of a Charleston garden party with the coastal elegance of Cape Cod. They asked their guests to embrace bold and colorful attire with patterned dresses and suits, adding to the festive and luxurious atmosphere. Their goal was to create a seamless experience, where guests could move effortlessly between the beautiful buildings of Chatham Bars Inn’s extensive property, enjoying the day with ease and elegance. The florals and details were

designed to exude luxury, enhancing the overall sophisticated yet joyful vibe.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Austin proposed New Years Eve (2022-2023); he planned a weekend of events including a night of a thousand candles Christmas orchestra show, and a weekend in the bride’s favorite city (Charleston). Austin surprised Siri at a local park with a completely decorated gazebo decorated with flowers, and a candle lit path, followed by dinner with their families at her favorite Italian restaurant.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]After visiting a few bridal shops, Siri found her dream dress at Madeleine’s Daughter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and fell in love with Anne Barge’s High Meadow gown. With help from her Charleston neighbor and talented seamstress, Marika Vegh, and guidance from Lesley Brickman, the owner of The One Gowns, the dress was customized to be uniquely hers. Over nearly 14 fittings, Marika carefully removed each “starfish-like flower” and meticulously reapplied them to a redesigned top that better suited Siri. Lesley completed the look, styling the gown with CL Exclusive white sling backs, diamond studs, and Siri’s grandmother’s necklace for the perfect final touch.[/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Siri encouraged her bridesmaids to choose blue patterned dresses that they felt comfortable and confident wearing, giving them the freedom to find a style that suited each of them individually. The result was exactly what she had envisioned—dresses that varied in cut, shade, and pattern, yet harmonized beautifully together. The mix of different blues and patterns created a dynamic but cohesive look, with each dress reflecting the personality of the bridesmaid while still fitting the overall theme. To complement the dresses, each bridesmaid’s bouquet was thoughtfully designed to subtly reflect the unique colors and tones of their dress, creating a perfect balance between variety and unity. The effect was a stunning blend of individuality and coordinated elegance.[/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen and the groom donned stylish navy blue linen suits from J. Crew, exuding a classic yet relaxed vibe perfect for their coastal wedding. Each member of the wedding party selected a bow tie from Brackish, a Charleston-based company known

for its unique designs. Siri and Austin collaborated closely with Brackish to ensure that the bow ties complemented their vision for the day. Just like the bridesmaids, each groomsman, along with their fathers and grandfathers, chose a bow tie that resonated with their individual personalities, adding a personal touch to their ensemble while maintaining a cohesive look. The result was a charming blend of style and individuality that perfectly matched the couple’s aesthetic.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Siri and Austin worked closely with the exceptional team at Chatham Bars Inn to curate a menu that reflected their tastes for their special day. They chose signature drinks that captured their personalities: the bride opted for a spicy strawberry margarita adorned with a tajin rim and a dried lime, while the groom

selected a refreshing Nantucket blueberry lemonade made with Nantucket blueberry vodka. Their aim was to create a light and invigorating beverage experience for their guests. As guests arrived for cocktail hour, they were treated to an array of delectable options, including elegant charcuterie boards, a raw bar, and an assortment of passed appetizers, setting the stage for an enjoyable evening. Once it was time for the reception, the culinary delights continued with a fresh local burrata and tomato salad, followed by a sumptuous duet of hanger steak and lobster, ensuring that the dining experience was just as memorable as the celebration itself.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral arrangements for Siri and Austin’s wedding beautifully complemented the elegant coastal venue while adding a personal touch that made the space feel entirely their own. Botanique designed the décor using hydrangeas and a palette predominantly featuring blue and white, paying homage to the sea. However, they also infused bold colors and whimsical textures to evoke a vibrant garden party atmosphere. The arrangements showcased stunning blooms such as ranunculus, garden roses, and dahlias, complemented by delicate delphinium, butterfly ranunculus, baby’s breath, and lush greenery, creating an organic, airy feel. The color scheme included warm shades of yellow, orange, and pink, seamlessly transitioning through subtle tones of blush, cream, and peach that blended harmoniously with the blue palette. Candlelight and an eclectic array of vases enhanced the overall celebratory ambiance, making the setting

even more enchanting.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The cake featured cascading Dutch hydrangeas from Botanique for an elegant, floral look. It alternated between two flavors: Lemon Zest Cake with Raspberry Mousse and Fresh Raspberries, and Golden Vanilla Cake with Raspberry Mousse and Fresh Raspberries, offering a fresh, citrusy twist alongside a rich vanilla base, all tied together by the bright raspberry layers.[/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Incorporating family into their wedding

day was incredibly important to Siri and Austin. They chose the bride’s grandmothers to read poems that held special significance to their relationships. Siri’s Nana shared a heartfelt poem about Cape Cod and its importance to their family, while her Abba read a touching piece that celebrated the power of love. The celebration featured live music to enhance the festive atmosphere, starting with the Island Time Steel Drum Band during cocktail hour. Hot Mess took the stage for both the ceremony and reception, rocking

the crowd with their energy. The night concluded with an exciting horn line by Hot Mess performing “Saints Go Marching,” leading guests through the Main Inn to the after-party, where Cape Cod Tunes DJed the festivities, ensuring an unforgettable celebration.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]With the help of Isamay Signage, Siri and Austin wanted to create meaningful displays. They had seen “Generations of Love” done on a smaller scale a few times, and since family means everything to Austin and Siri, They decided to take it further. They chose large, multi-sided pillars to guide guests from our cocktail hour to the reception. Each side featured wedding photos of their closest family members. As guests sipped cocktails and wandered through the display, it was wonderful to hear reminiscing about the weddings seen in photos they had attended in the past.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Siri and Austin teamed up with Madeleine Warren, the Owner and Lead Designer of MFW Designs, to create a custom shell linen for their wedding. This unique linen design showcased scallop shells, representing the four summers they had spent on Cape Cod gathering them, along with palmetto leaves as a tribute to Charleston, SC, where they first met, and abstract coral for a touch of coastal charm. The linen featured a white background embellished with a light blue motif, perfectly capturing the essence of their love story and the locations that hold special meaning to them.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Siri and Austin hosted a vibrant after-party that kicked off with a festive horn line, guiding guests from the reception area through the Main Inn to the new celebration space. The party featured a Chatham Bars Inn Red Sox-themed food truck, serving up Fenway franks, funnel cakes, and a variety of classic baseball treats. Over-the-top

balloons from the talented team at Elevated Impressions added a whimsical touch to the atmosphere, while a photo booth and DJ from Cape Cod Tunes ensured everyone had a great time. For this lively occasion, the couple changed into striking new outfits. The bride dazzled in a sequin Oscar de la Renta gown, styled by Lesley Brickman, the owner of The One Gowns, and completed with sparkly Golden Goose sneakers and a chic tennis necklace. Meanwhile, the groom opted for a bold sparkly suit from Madeleine’s Daughter, paired with an elegant all-black Brackish feather bow tie, making them the perfect match for their unforgettable celebration.[/field]
