A Colorful & Lush Spring Wedding at The Grand at Willow Springs

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

Our wedding planner, Katie McIntire, held such an amazing role in the overall design of our wedding. She was a great help and deserves so much credit! With our wedding being at the start of the summer season, we thought it would be most fitting to resemble an elevated garden-party theme. Katie helped us execute this dream through our invitations and signage, linens, and florals. She worked closely with Dayflower Designs to create meaningful printing items and make our vision even more unique.

Proposal Story
My husband convinced me that we were going to celebrate his older brother’s birthday at a local country club for dinner. We both had a few hours of free time beforehand so we went to go play a few holes of golf prior to “meeting up with his family.” I did not think anything of the situation because this was common for us to do and it just seemed like a normal Wednesday evening in my eyes. Little did I know, my husband had the ring in his golf bag the entire time and was planning to propose on the 18th hole. After nearly seven years of dating and growing up together, this moment was very surreal! We took a lot of pictures and then joined in celebration with all of our family and closest friends back at the club house! This is a day we will always cherish.
The Fashion
Wedding Gown
I went to a few wedding dress appointments in my hometown, but nothing was seeming to stand out! I knew I was looking for something classy, timeless, and unique! After much research and instagram stalking, my mom and I spontaneously drove 9 hours to Louisiana in hopes to find my dream dress; safe to say it was definitely worth it! There is a store in Baton Rouge that carries the designer that I quickly fell in love with; Allison Webb. I walked in with one specific dress in mind that I had seen before, but I ended up combining 3 different Allison Webb dresses into 1 custom-made gown! Therefore, I never actually tried on my official dress until I went back to Louisiana 6 months later to pick it up. I was fully confident it was going to be beautiful. I will always be in awe of her work.
Bridesmaid Dresses
My bridesmaids were 14 of my closest friends, including my older sister as my matron of honor. They wore a variety of champagne satin dresses from Show Me Your Mumu.
The Details
Food & Drink
During our cocktail hour, guests gathered in the venue’s courtyard under hundreds of party lights while enjoying our specialty drinks of hibiscus margarita and bourbon smash; created and served by Mint To Mix. We also welcomed our guests with various hors d'oeuvres. After inviting everyone into the reception hall, dinner was immediately served by our vendor, Catering Unlimited, across the room at multiple stations. My husband and I made the easy decision to serve Italian, with our favorite dish being the steak tortellini with a creamy parmesan sauce. We shared our first meal together as husband and wife away from our guests, but were confident they would love it as much as we did due to the amazing talent of the chefs!
Florals & Decor
I owe so many thanks to our florist vendor, Samantha’s Garden. They inspired so many decisions and unique touches to help make our vision come to life! The owner and the lead designer made an intentional effort to know us personally and encourage us spiritually. Since our wedding day, the florals have been the hottest topic of conversation amongst our guests and those that have seen pictures. Samantha’s Garden is SO talented and served us better than we could have ever asked for. They went above and beyond to help make all of my wedding floral dreams come true!
Wedding Cake
For dessert, we partnered with Shelby Lynn’s Cake Shoppe to design our 4 tiered wedding cake. If you look closely, the intricate details on our cake resembled the pearls and floral applique on my dress. We also wanted to make sure and add a personal touch by including our initials. Our cake included 3 different delicious flavors; vanilla, chocolate, and an additional vanilla with strawberry jam filling.
Special Detail #1
Ever since we started dating, one of our favorite date night spots has been at a locally owned ice cream truck in downtown Fayetteville; Burton’s Creamery. In one of my many conversations with our planner, Katie, this idea came and she made it her mission to have Burton’s come serve ice cream for our guests during the reception. This was a great reason to step away from the dance floor and walk down memory lane to our favorite ice cream truck parked out on the front lawn of the venue!
