An Emotion-Filled Garden Party in Maryland Drenched in Family Heritage

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Ushering in spring, the couple opted for a palette of soft pastels and neutrals: lavender, blush, light blue, mauve, and greenery.[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Together with Jessica Ashley Events, the couple brought their inspiration of a garden party with hints of European elegance to life! They wanted the event to feel welcoming and complimentary to the stunning natural backdrop of their venue. Highlighting their family and Jewish heritage was another extremely important element to their design.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Caroline wore a timeless Anne Barge gown with a bit of ruching on the bodice that added an element of whimsy. With off-the-shoulder sleeves and a pearl-encrusted cathedral-length veil, her look aligned perfectly with the garden party vision. [/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Spilled Milk Catering presented a beautiful multi-course meal that echoed the vibrancy of spring. The couple started their event with Kabbalat Panim and a Bedecken, components of traditional Jewish ceremony. Because of this, they welcomed their guests with champagne, straight into cocktail hour, so that they could participate in these events prior to the ceremony. Guests also enjoyed a variety of hors d’oeuvres during this time. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Whimsical and organic garden-style florals livened the event and carried the soft pastel color story throughout the event. Fluttery arrangements added movement and a lightness to the beautiful, mauve velvet linens. A second table look with a mauve patterned linen added interest to the design, and floral patterned china pulled the garden-party inspired look together perfectly. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The couple chose to forgo a traditional wedding cake and instead treated their guests to passed desserts as they were dancing and mingling after dinner.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The Chuppah was lovingly handcrafted by the groom, using wood from his family’s property in the Adirondacks.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The couple have a shared love for musical theatre, so the DJ played instrumental versions of various shows during dinner. A nod to their love for musicals was also displayed with the “Be Our Guest” escort display.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]The day was filled with such palpable emotion– joy, peace, and a distinct sense of oneness and family.[/field]
