A Stunning Summer Elopement in Sintra, Portugal at Casa Dos Penedos

Nestled in the hills just outside Lisbon, Portugal, Sintra is a place of absolute enchantment and charm. Its collection of palaces and castles, against the deep green forest, makes for a storybook setting for a destination elopement. Centrally located within the bustling streets of Sintra, is Casa Dos Penedos, a 20 th Century Manor House which has since been converted to a wedding venue. With its impressive views, the greenhouse was the perfect area to bring this elopement vision to life. Designer and planner Valerie, of LBV Design House, sought to create an elopement that felt like an extension of the venue itself.

The Venue, Casa Dos Penedos, is a beautiful gem nestled in the hills of Sintra, Portugal. The greenhouse was the perfect set up for this nature inspired elopement.

As with every detail of this day, the wedding dress was selected to showcase the carefree nature of this elopement. Naturally, Monique Lhuillier (sourced via Julian Gold Bridal) made for the perfect dress designer, with a mini dresses featured that reflected exquisite craftsmanship, ornate details and timeless elegance.

As with all of LBV Design House’s creations, the floral and décor elements played a central part of the design. Valerie partnered with local Portuguese wedding artists to bring in florals, and rentals that ultimately brought the entire design to life through their specialized talents. The florals incorporated were lush and unstructured, with a touch of whimsy, as if they were directly growing from where they were placed - a nod to the lush backdrop that is Sintra, and the seasonality-based approach of floral designer KƆKliKO. The tabletop details sourced from the Rental Collection enhanced the natural details of the greenhouse walls.
