[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Stephanie and Kevin really leaned into the bright Mexican color palette since many guests were flying in from Taiwan for the first time and they wanted to showcase the beauty of the country. They drew inspiration from the beautiful papel picados, otomis, and piñatas that you see everywhere in the local artisan markets. Given that the Nobu Hotel is known for its clean Japandi aesthetic, they felt that the pops of color would really make the wedding lively and fun![/field]
[field title=”Proposal Story”]Kevin wanted to make sure both families were present during the proposal, though COVID made it somewhat challenging. He rented a quaint Airbnb in Oakland and arranged for just a few close relatives to join them. Unfortunately, Stephanie’s cousin fell ill with COVID a week before, but Kevin was undeterred! He went ahead with a “three course meal” complete with a beautifully hand drawn menu by his sister-in-law. The first course was Stephanie’s favorite frozen yogurt dessert from Souvla, a local SF gem, and the second course was a picture book of their memories together from the previous eight years. The last course was the ring and a touching proposal speech! Despite her resolve to remain stoic, Stephanie shed many happy tears! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Stephanie wanted something elegant, comfortable, and understated, and so she went with Anne Barge’s Star Crossed gown. At first glance, it seems like a simple A-line gown but when you get a bit closer, you see the fabric is intricately beaded with tiny 3D petals that made her shimmer under the Mexican sun! [/field]
[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]More than anything, Stephanie wanted her bridesmaids to be comfortable, so she simply gave them the wedding color palette to work with, and let them choose the dress styles they felt expressed their own personalities best. This mix-and-match approach worked beautifully, especially against the dramatic backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. [/field]
[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Kevin opted for a custom white tuxedo with black lapels while his groomsmen went with all black from head to toe. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Stephanie and Kevin’s choice of the Nobu Hotel was very intentional as they are huge fans of the food at Nobu restaurants. They had an amazing time at their tasting and confessed that it was incredibly difficult deciding which dishes and hors d’oeuvres would make the cut given how delicious the food was overall. The couple’s absolute favorite entree was the miso black cod and they were more than pleased with the positive feedback from their guests. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]On their very first trip years ago, Stephanie and Kevin fell in love with the breathtaking Cabo sunsets and they wanted their wedding color palette to reflect that beauty. Their talented florist from Aria Vera created two gorgeous floral columns bursting in red, pink, and orange that allowed the audience a stunning view of the ceremony. The reception tablescapes were made up of similarly colorful flower arrangements adorned with fresh fruit. They chose oak wood rentals to match the Japandi aesthetic of the Nobu hotel. [/field]
[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Though all the scrumptious options made the decision difficult, Stephanie and Kevin finally landed on a three-tiered cake with a different flavor for each tier. Given that most of the guests were Asian, they were delighted to have matcha as one of the options. The minimalist three-circle design with white frosting for each tier was accented and enlivened with bright flowers hand-picked by Nobu’s dessert chef.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs: Explain why you chose certain readings, music for the ceremony, and reception songs.
The happy couple wanted to make their friends and family just as happy with an epic dance party following the reception, and their DJ from Alex DJ Cabo Events delivered in a big way! Their romantic first dance seamlessly transitioned into a rave-like atmosphere as fireworks went off in the background and the music synched up to the string lights and moving headlights. dance floor to a rave by synching all the music to the string lights and the moving headlights. They even brought out CO2 cryo guns to hype up the crowd as their friends tore up the dance floor.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Being able to incorporate as many Mexican elements as possible was truly a priority for Stephanie and Kevin, especially since so many of their dear friends and family were coming from so far away to celebrate them. To that end, they had a full mariachi band perform as they exited the ceremony as well as during the cocktail hour. They discovered an Etsy vendor who was able to create mini papel picados that they placed on branded coconuts as seating assignments. They also placed delightful mini piñatas in their wedding color palette throughout the venue. [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Stephanie and Kevin look back on their wedding day as if it was all a dream! They say they truly understand now when people describe their wedding day as the best day of their lives. More than anything, the couple was overwhelmed by the sense of unity and connection they felt with all of their guests. It’s been over a year since their big day and they still find themselves reminiscing about it! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]Though they initially had a bit of a reservation about planning a destination wedding without ever having seen the venue in person, Stephanie and Kevin were given great comfort by having Dayna from Del Cabo Weddings by their side. She was very responsive and helped to reassure them every step of the way. She even helped them put out a few fires in the days leading up to the wedding and for that, they are forever grateful! [/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #3″]MC Weddings was one of the first vendors that Stephanie and Kevin booked when they started their planning process with Dayna. They were captivated by their whimsical style and knew early on that they wanted their big day to be photographed by them. On the day of the wedding, the entire team made them feel very at ease in front of the camera, and the result exceeded their expectations. They have said they will be cherishing our wedding photos for years to come![/field]
