The Planning

Design / Vibe / Vision

When planning the wedding, Sophia really wanted the guests to experience the feeling and vibe of the many family-style dinners her family has shared at the Favia property. In terms of design, Sophia loved the idea of a dining al fresco vineyard dinner party, and wanted to compliment the natural beauty of the vineyard and family home. To enhance that experience, we brought in California favorites like Hog Island Oysters, a violin trio, and handmade watercolor paper goods (made by her cousin!) throughout the day.

Proposal Story

"It was really important for us to incorporate family and familial sentiment where we could in this exciting chapter. Niall proposed at my families house in Sonoma - which was the coincidentally the first place he met them over 2 years before. After the proposal, we celebrated at one of our favorite winreries, Scribe!" - From The Bride

Sophia wore a timeless gown by Lela Rose from Jin Wang Bridal, complimented by a pair of heirloom earrings from her grandmother.

The Details

Food & Drink

After a heartfelt ceremony, guests mingled under the trees for cocktail hour, where they enjoyed fresh Hog Island Oysters, passed apps from Marks The Spot Catering, and specialty cocktails like the bride’s favorite Mucho Gusto Margarita with pineapple-infused tequila (YUM). Guests enjoyed a family-style meal of local and fresh ingredients, including Argentine style steak, a nod to the Favia Family's move abroad to Argentina in the 2000's.

Florals & Decor

The floral arrangements by Monkey Flower Group were nothing short of breathtaking. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the property, the team created stunning petite bouquets and simple and chic centerpieces to compliment the dining al fresco feel. Sophia's aunt (and property owner) spent months preparing the ceremony field florals and surrounding landscaping.

Wedding Cake

In lieu of cake, guests were served fresh cherries and local chocolates.

Special Detail #1

Sophia's cousins and extended family have an ongoing obsession with the song Umbrella by Rhianna, and play it at all big family celebrations. Her family surprised her with a special Rhianna-themed dance and lots of umbrellas!

Special Detail #2

For all of her table numbers, Sophia and Niall picked some of their favorite things like meyer lemons, oysters, The Oregon ducks, their family crest and more. Sophia's cousin and talented artist Josie made the water color pieces on the morning of the wedding while all of the girls got ready and sipped champagne.

Sophia is incredibly close with her family, and she really wanted to do a special first look with her two younger brothers and dad. It was an emotional moment, and the photos of Sophia's mom looking on are so sweet.
