Timeless Destination Wedding Overlooking Rolling Vineyards at Villa Palagina
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
Brooke and Ryan dreamed of a romantic and timeless wedding in Europe. Initially, they considered Tuscany in Italy and Austria due to their emotional attachment to both countries. After visiting several venues in Italy, I suggested they visit Villa Palagina before traveling to Austria, and they fell in love at first sight. Their celebration spanned three days, including a dinner among the vineyards and a pool party. They chose to have a classic, classy, and romantic wedding, with each detail carefully selected to complement the villa's natural beauty and formal gardens.
Proposal Story
From the Groom: I proposed to Brooke at the end of the summer at my parent’s lake house in the South Carolina mountains. I chose this place because it is somewhere we spend a lot of time, and even lived on occasion - including during the pandemic and prior to moving to New York. I wanted to propose in a place we would return to regularly and be reminded of those times we enjoyed at the lake and with my parents, as well as always be reminded of this happy time. For the proposal, I sent Brooke on a scavenger hunt around the house and yard, leaving notes in various places with stories highlighting the reasons I love her. The second-to-last note directed Brooke outside to a waterfall decorated with flowers, where I was waiting with a final note asking Brooke to marry me, and the ring. I had flown in Brooke’s parents for the weekend, and they surprised Brooke by coming out just after she said yes! Our two families went on to a celebratory dinner in the mountains, followed by a lovely weekend on the lake.

Wedding Gown
I fell in love with my dress from Daalarna. It was elegant, sensual, and timeless, exactly what I had envisioned. I adored wearing it; it was incredibly comfortable, which was crucial for me, especially since I got married in the summer. My shoes were from Alexandre Birman, and they matched my style and gown perfectly.
Bridesmaid Dresses
For my bridesmaids' dresses, I chose a color that perfectly matches our bucolic theme, and they looked absolutely stunning in it.

Food & Drink
Embracing the Italian spirit, Brooke and Ryan ensured that Aperol Spritzes were always present throughout their three-day celebration. They curated a menu featuring traditional Tuscan cuisine, delighting their guests with authentic flavors and local delicacies.
Florals & Decor
The ceremony unfolded in the villa's enchanting garden overlooking the vineyard. Sartorial Floral crafted a lush floral backdrop, featuring a semi-arch that perfectly framed the breathtaking views. The reception table was set on the villa's terrace, right in front of the elegant facade, adorned with floral garlands that cascaded to the ground. String lights created a magical ceiling above the table, beside the formal garden. Even the musicians' stage was decorated with flowers, maintaining the same elegant theme.
Wedding Cake
When in Italy, do as the Italians do! We opted for the crunchy and delicious millefoglie wedding cake. Cutting it was great fun, especially with sparkling fountains and fireworks lighting up the night as we opened a bottle of champagne.

Special Detail #2
GROOM: On my reaction to Brooke’s dress: I thought it was perfect, the perfect balance of timelessness and modernity. I think Brooke and I were both nervous because we are so used to making our decisions together, so this was a big one for her to have to make on her own! As I expected she would, however, she chose wonderfully and looked absolutely stunning.
