South Carolina Roots Run Deep at This Intimate Lowcountry Wedding
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
With deep roots in South Carolina, Katherine and Brock hosted an intimate wedding along the May River, cherishing the rare opportunity to gather loved ones in a place of profound familial and emotional significance. Their ceremony took place on the bluff overlooking the river marshland, where bursts of blue flowers adorned the pathway leading to the altar, as Lowcountry dolphins were spotted swimming in the distance.
Proposal Story
Contrary to traditional dating advice, Katherine didn’t even have to leave her house to meet Brock. While hosting a party with her roommates, one of them invited her coworkers, who happened to be men working in tech. That night, she met Brock. Over the years, Katherine has spent every summer visiting her family in Bluffton, South Carolina. As her relationship with Brock blossomed, so did their connection to this family property. The May River became a special place for them — it was where Katherine and Brock first said, “I love you.” They shared many heart-to-heart moments, including a memorable boat ride along the river where they discussed their future together. Despite Brock struggling to keep his nerves in check, he planned a dockside proposal to Katherine outside their favorite restaurant, followed by a beautiful family celebration afterward.

The Details
Food & Drink
After a Southern arugula salad with candied pecans and tobacco onions, guests dined on a duo of beef tenderloin and crab cake, served alongside roasted corn succotash, garlic-whipped potatoes, and cognac-roasted shallot hollandaise.
Florals & Decor
Oysters, a regional delicacy, were creatively showcased through an artistic seating chart display adorned with shells and featured inlay at the front of the bar. Blue and white florals accentuated the outdoor elegance while leaving room for nature to speak. Freeform floral arrangements adorned the tent's wooden beams, creating a captivating ambiance under the glow of lanterns.
