How to Seamlessly Blend Textures, Patterns, and Colors at Sidney Berne Davis Art Center

[field title=”The Inspiration”]

The Inspiration: The true turning point for our inspiration came when we discovered a stunning image of a long table set in front of a grand manor-style home in Europe. This set the stage for our concept. We aimed to create a design that seamlessly blended various textures, patterns, and colors to achieve an unexpected yet harmonious look. The combination of blues with surprising pops of coral and pink, along with incorporating the stone architecture of the venue, became the main element of our design. Thanks to the tireless effort of some truly amazing artists dedicated to this creative concept, our final design came together perfectly. The images you see today are a testament to their dedication.

The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers, Florida, served as the backdrop for our shoot. With its neoclassical architecture, characterized by grand stone columns and intricate detailing, it has a timeless elegance that pairs beautifully with the modern pops of color in our design. The venue’s rich history and cultural significance added depth and character to our shoot. The transformation of this historic building into a thriving art center has preserved its architectural beauty while infusing it with a vibrant, contemporary spirit, and our photographer drew on its modern elements for the second portion of our shoot which featured the work of various local artists in the Capital Gallery.

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]For this photo shoot, we showcased two distinct dresses. The ceremony dress featured exquisite floral elements and a romantic cut designed by Morilee in the style name Petal.

The reception dress, with its more contemporary fabric and design, introduced a modern touch to the shoot and paired perfectly with the groom’s dinner tuxedo. This choice was a deliberate nod to the venue’s current role as a vibrant art museum. The juxtaposition of the dress’s sleek, modern aesthetic with the historic charm of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center highlighted the seamless blend of old and new, mirroring the venue’s transformation and adding a dynamic element to our shoot. It was designed by Calla Blanche in the style name Randa.[/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

The florals for this shoot were a true masterpiece. The ceremony setup featured a breathtaking cascade of greens climbing both center columns, culminating in a stunning hanging floral piece that framed the ceremony location and created a captivating backdrop for the bride and groom. The bouquet was a gorgeous arrangement that incorporated all the colors from the shoot, adding a touch of whimsy to the bride’s ensemble. The tablescape florals were a 30-foot cascade of blooms, gracefully draping down both sides of the 24-foot table. This floral display transitioned beautifully from whites and creams at one end, gradually blending into pale pinks, and culminating in vibrant bright pinks and corals at the other end. This color-changing or ombre effect added a visually striking element to the overall design, making the tablescape a focal point of the shoot.

[field title=”Favorite Design Element”]As the planner, my favorite design element, aside from the spectacular cascading florals, was the unexpected mix of linens. The two separate patterns were something I wouldn’t have initially expected to mesh well, but in the end, they proved to be a perfect fit with each other, the colors, and the florals. Additionally, the gorgeous stone columns and the rich history of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center added an extra layer of charm and elegance to the shoot. [/field]

[field title=”Tips To Pull Off The Look”]

To achieve a similar look, start by selecting a color palette that complements your venue’s surroundings. Mix different textures, such as smooth linens with intricate patterns, to add depth and visual interest to your tablescape. Focus on statement florals to create dramatic focal points, ensuring they reflect your chosen color scheme. Emphasize and integrate the architectural features of your venue, like stone columns or historic details, into your design. Balance traditional and contemporary elements for a timeless yet fresh aesthetic, and pay attention to small details like table settings and decorative accents to elevate the overall look. Collaborating closely with skilled vendors who share your vision will help ensure every element aligns seamlessly with your concept.
