How to Transform an Indoor Reception Into Your Dream Secret Garden Wedding

The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision

Our design vision embraced classic elegance, transforming our reception hall into a lush garden haven with cascading greenery, soft lighting, and bountiful hydrangeas. The atmosphere was reminiscent of an intimate garden party, where guests were enchanted by romance and beauty surrounding them as the sun set upon an incredible day.

Proposal Story
Noah and Stephanie’s story began at Baylor University in 2016, where they met through their pre-dental society. After dating in college and undertaking dental school together in Houston, Noah surprised Stephanie by taking her back to Baylor for a spontaneous weekend getaway in April 2022. Amidst the familiar sights and beautiful campus of their alma mater, Noah led Stephanie to the tranquil gardens of Founder’s Mall, where he dropped to one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.
The Fashion
Wedding Gown

Stephanie’s wedding dress exuded pure elegance with its eggshell satin fabric, fit and flare silhouette, and graceful bow on the back. The train was detachable and accentuated with a pearl veil. It perfectly embodied the timeless sophistication of the wedding and ensured the bride looked radiant on her big day.

Bridesmaid Dresses

The six bridesmaids wore one-shoulder fit-and-flare dresses, adorned with a chic shoulder bow detail that mirrored the elegance of the bride’s own gown. Inspired by a cherished family tradition, where the bride’s mother’s bridesmaids wore black dresses, this choice not only added a touch of nostalgia but also seamlessly complemented the timeless and refined theme of the wedding.

Groomsman Attire

The six groomsmen dressed to impress in sleek black tuxedos with black bowties, while the groom wore a white bowtie with his tuxedo in contrast. Noah’s groomsmen were all close friends, roommates, and classmates from Baylor, and Noah gifted them Baylor cufflinks to commemorate the university where they all met. The groom also gave the groomsmen black shark socks as an homage to their bachelor party in Galveston, TX.

The Details
Food & Drink

The dinner was a plated dinner consisting of a house salad with feta crumble, candied walnuts, and raspberry dressing, followed by classic pan-seared chicken breast, haricot verts, and parmesan orzo. The wedding cake was a three-tier vanilla buttercream with lemon curd, and the groom’s cake was double fudge with Butterfinger filling. The bride and groom added a white and dark chocolate fondue station as a nod to their frequent dates at The Melting Pot restaurant.

Florals & Decor

Our venue was adorned with blue and white hydrangeas, accented by lush greenery throughout the venue, evoking a sense of understated elegance and natural beauty. The floral arrangements exuded a timeless charm, creating an enchanting ambiance that captivated our guests with its effortless sophistication.

Wedding Cake
Our wedding cake was elegantly adorned with blue sugar hydrangeas atop a pristine white buttercream canvas. Reflecting Noah's fondness for a lemon loaf Stephanie commonly bakes, the cake featured a refreshing lemon curd filling, adding a personal touch to the classic dessert.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs

A string quartet was used during the ceremony and cocktail hour to create a formal and sophisticated setting.
