A Newspaper-Inspired Amelia Island Wedding

They wanted minimal, elegant, simple, but romantic and fun. The whole idea was to let the venue decorate itself, and to spend more of the vision and details into the experience

We got engaged in Athens, Greece at sunset on a rooftop bar overlooking the Acropolis. We continued to celebrate our engagement the rest of our trip in Santorini and Milos, Greece.

A modern silhouette from Love Couture Boutique, designed by Antonio Gual, created the bridal look for Beth, paired with a sleek low bun for the modern finished look. This transitioned perfectly into her pearl-encrusted reception dress by Oh Polly with high slit giving off more effortless vibes and cool-girl glam.

Birdy Grey varied styles of dresses adorned Beth's group of girls.

Indochino suits gave Owen's group of guys the dapper touch.

3-Tier Round Cake Tiramisu Flavor, Buttercream Icing Bride: Tiramisu is one of our favorite desserts. The cake was very light and subtle, but you were still able to taste the boldness of flavors that come with tiramisu!

Bridal processional - “young and beautiful” string space We fell in love with this song after watching the movie the Great Gatsby. We chose to use the strings version again to keep with the theme of all strings music during the ceremony. This is a beautiful song about the crazy love you experience when you are young, but continuing to love each other as you change and grow old together. Recessional- “Hallelujah, I love her so” Ray Charles This song was chosen because it is an upbeat, celebratory song that we felt depicts the flirtatious, fun, and outward love we show for each other! It appeals to all crowds and we had also never heard it be used before! Groom and bridal party entrance- “you & me” Flume Remix (Disclosure) Wedding string quartet We have always loved this love song, but the original version is a dance remix. We found this strings version and thought it would be a beautiful mix of classic string wedding music and a popular song that young people would know. And we had never heard it been used! First dance - “Always remember us this way” Lady Gaga We picked this song from one of our all time favorite movies, A Star is Born. It is another heart-wrenching love song that is self-explanatory in wanting to always remember each other in this moment right here. Father daughter dance- “walk with me” Edwin McCain Mother Son danc - “over the rainbow” Israel Kamakawiwo’ole

Our beautiful bride Beth honored her mother by incorporating her mom's very own wedding dress and repurposing it into her bridal robe she wore that day, along with a clutch she held close to her heart with that same wedding gown fabric. In this way, her mother played a big part of the wedding by becoming woven into the very details of Beth's attire.

Instead of just traditional invites, the couple went with custom newspapers that featured their love story and all the details for their weekend event at the Ritz Carlton, delivered to their closest friends and family.
