[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]Parte Events and Design worked closely with Elizabeth and Nate to craft a day that fit perfectly with the changing of the seasons. The end of spring and kick off to summer inspired them with an amazing blend of colors. They aimed for a timeless design while using color in all of the right places. The mix of the light purple, light blue, sage green and white was a beautiful blend of colors and popped up through every element of the day’s stunning design. [/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]Elizabeth & Nate have a love for hiking and being outdoors together. They went to the palmetto trail near their home in Charleston to stretch their legs one weekend after Elizabeth got back from a business trip. Nate had Elizabeth pick the trail hoping she wouldn’t get suspicious. They peppered themselves in bug spray but as it was October in Charleston the mosquitos quickly got to them and their dog Poppy while they were on the trail. They made it about a mile turned around because the bugs were terrible. Not to have his plans ruined by nature, Nate got down on one knee near a little creek by the beginning of the trail right and Elizabeth said yes before quickly running back to the car! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Elizabeth’s wedding gown was hand painted from a lovely London designer. When she originally tried it on she knew it was the one because it had pockets, beautiful details, and felt very classic. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Elizabeth has always loved weddings that let the bridesmaids express some of their personal style. She thought a mix of florals and solid dusty blues would tie nicely to the overall lavender, blue and green theme. She loves that their wedding party was their something blue for the day. [/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groom and groomsmen looked dapper in heather light blue suits from State & Liberty. These suits were a perfect for their summer affair – with breathable, moisture wicking materials that helped keep the guys cool all day long. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Nate and Elizabeth are Charleston locals but most of their guests were coming from the midwest! They worked with PPHG to create a delicious menu with local flavors to serve up at their reception. Amazing low country favorites like shrimp and grits, fresh catch, and seasonal pies from Sweet Rhi delighted their guests all evening long! [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Festoon crafted a garden of whimsical florals for the ceremony and reception design. The florals enhanced the natural beauty of Lowndes Grove while perfectly emulating the feel of a late spring garden party. Katie Knowles Designs brought in the same touch of loose airy garden style with our wavy edged dinner menus using the same colors from the floral and linen design.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Elizabeth and Nate chose a small but whimsical cake by Sweet Rhi in Charleston. The cake was topped with Elizabeth’s parent’s cake topper – another nod to the importance of family in their relationship as a couple. [/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Family is a central focus for Elizabeth and Nate and they wanted to plan their ceremony around this value. Asking their two favorite aunts to read during their ceremony was a big part of their vision. The first reading was a family tradition on Nate’s side, a prayer for the couple that his maternal grandfather had given during many of the marriage ceremonies he presided over. The second reading brought the couple back to the earliest years of their relationship. Nate and Elizabeth were lucky to attend Wake Forest while Maya Angelou was still in residence and her poem Touched by an Angel reminded them of their time together on campus, where they had met. [field title=”Special Detail #1″]Elizabeth and Nate exchanged family heirloom rings as a part of their ceremony. Having a piece of their grandparents and parents with them always was a key part of both the wedding and starting their lives together by honoring the family they love so dearly. [/field]
