The historical grandeur of Isola del Garda meets the vibrant hues of summer florals for a modern and fresh design. We wanted to showcase regal luxury infused with a breath of pastel modernity. In such a grand setting you cannot have an understated design so we leaned into maximalism with an abundance of florals, bold patterns, and a vibrant colour palette. A palace wedding for the modern couple.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]

In July 2022, Johann and I went on a three-week road trip with our Pomeranian from London to France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland and Germany. Our first stop was Chateau Grand Barrail in Saint-Emilion – a beautiful castle that sat in the middle of the vineyards where one of our favourite wines is made. On our first night, Johann told me he had arranged a spot for us to have a pre-dinner drink overlooking the castle. When we arrived, there was a bottle of champagne waiting, and we took our glasses to the edge of the lake, where Johann bent down to one knee and asked me to marry him! A hidden photographer captured the whole thing, including our dog trying to chase the swans at the same time!! After calling our parents, we then headed out to the most romantic dinner overlooking the vineyards. It was perfect!

[section title=”The Fashion”]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]My dress was the Vivienne Westwood ‘Princess’ dress. I knew I wanted a unique dress that wasn’t all over Instagram, although apart from that I had no idea what I wanted. I spent the most fabulous day with my mum and sister going from shop to shop in London. Our last stop of the day was Browns, an iconic London bridal shop, where I found my dress and as soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one. I paired it with the Manolo Blahnik ‘Lurum’ ivory heels and a beautiful Peter Langner veil. In keeping with the Princess theme, I wore a Maria Elena tiara and, as my ‘something borrowed’, my mum’s Tiffany chandelier earrings which she also wore on her wedding day. [/field]

My bridesmaids wore pink tulle Marchesa Notte gowns with embroidered flower detailing. They matched the decor, flowers, and whole vibe perfectly, and they looked beautiful.

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Our dress code was black tie, so I wanted my husband to stand out in white like me. He wore an ivory tuxedo from Sartoria Rossi, an Italian tailor on London’s iconic Savile Row. His groomsmen were dressed to the nines in Tom Ford tuxedos. [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]

The guests were served a sit-down dinner and served appetizers at cocktail hour. They served signature drinks at the bar and served champagne as guests arrived at their ceremony. In true Italian style, no guest will go hungry. The aperitif consisted of classic Italian dishes such as cold cuts, local cheeses, a plate of fresh seafood, and cocktails named after the bride and groom. For dinner, local cuisine was highlighted through seafood and pasta and to finish off, the couple provided late-night pizza.

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]

When the location is so idyllic by itself, it is essential to choose designs that will enhance the beauty and be in balance with the venue’s style. We wanted to create a classy upscale design that would reflect the glory of the event, and at the same time be modern and elegant. The ceremony took place at the Loggia, where the amazing view is completed by high columns, which we enhanced with an array of soft pink, cream, and fuchsia flowers. The alluring ashy and hot pink colour played a key role in the reception area’s design compiling the floral arrangements with breathtaking views. The beautiful classy compositions consist of a wide selection of flowers of cream, pink, and peachy tones: dahlias, various kinds of roses, peonies, astilba, sweet pea, and nerine. The crystal vases are subtle but become an elegant touch to the general look of the compositions.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]

Stunning wedding cake was made by local bakery and it had lovely fresh flowers. It was all white and had that beautiful classic look while still being so incredible unique and fitting right in with their garden vibe.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Evening Dress

Originally my mum and I were in Jenny Peckham on Mount Street with the intention of finding her mother-of-the-bride dress, however, upon seeing their bridal collection, I couldn’t say no to their mini white sparkly cocktail number! It was the perfect dress to dance the night away in! [/field]

Welcome Dinner Outfit We hosted a welcome dinner the night before the main event which was at a restaurant right on the lake overlooking the island where we would all head to the next day for our wedding. I knew I wanted something ‘extra’ and to keep in line with the princess theme, so I was so pleased when I saw Self Portrait’s bridal collection. I wore a short strapless white dress with a matching cape – it was divine! I paired it with a white sparkly Jennifer Behr headband and a pair of silver Gina shoes kindly gifted to me by my grandmother.

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]Invitations

Invitations were super important to me as I believe it truly sets the tone for the whole wedding. As soon as I saw Momental’s instagram, I knew they were the ones who could deliver my vision! They made the cutest wedding crest with our initials and, most importantly, included our little Pom, Louis. Our invitations were hand painted and featured the backdrop of our wedding venue on them. Attention to detail is so important and everything from our envelopes to save the dates, wax stamp, ribbons and crest were perfect.
