[field title=”Proposal Story”]

Chris proposed to Greg (April 5th, 2022) at Castello Di Verrazzano in Chianti, Tuscany. We really grew an appreciation for wine throughout the pandemic pretending to be sommeliers ordering varieties of wines, which inspired us to book our dream trip to Italy where Chris planned to propose. While in Florence we had a day-long private wine tour throughout Chianti. Chris planned for the first vineyard on the itinerary (Castello di Verrazzano) to have access to their private courtyard after the tasting. Chris set up his drone to capture the moment and then proposed.

We loved that Larz Anderson House reminisced of Florentine Villa architecture and style. It was beautifully ornate and the outdoor pool and garden perfectly captured the vibe we wanted for outdoor dining. We also really enjoyed the overall flow of the day from starting in the ballroom for the ceremony, to upstairs in Olmsted Gallery hallways for cocktail hour, followed by dinner in the garden, and then back to the ballroom for the reception and party. We split activities for planning the wedding according to our interests. Chris handled the majority of the logistics like the florals, food, and lighting, while Greg worked his touch on the musical ambiance, subtle décor, and color coordination. One of our favorite additions was the champagne wall with our guests’ table numbers.

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The surprise performance from VINCINT was exceptionally special. Shortly after getting engaged, we went to an intimate VINCINT concert while he was on tour in DC. While dancing away to some of our favorite songs, Greg said “how amazing would it be to have VINCINT perform at our wedding!” Chris filed that off-hand comment away to plan a special surprise. [field title=”Special Detail #2″]We continued the party at a local gay bar called 18th & U Duplex Diner. We kicked off the after party celebrations with a drag show from 3 local drag artists: @itscrystaledge, @theonlysidora, @whitney_guccigoo[/field]
