A Coastal Wedding Complete With Earthy Blooms at the Ocean Course
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
Maggie and Steven’s wedding embodied a coastal style and an air of elegance with earthy florals and the inviting, oceanside attitude of South Carolina. Hosted at The Ocean Course golf course on Kiawah Island, their venue boasted views of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as indoor spaces with coastal-style architecture.
Proposal Story
Maggie and Steven carry on the running joke that she “called dibs” on Steven from the very beginning. The couple met through mutual friends and quickly began a relationship together. They were engaged at their daughter’s third birthday party, which Maggie recounts as a complete surprise.

The Fashion
Wedding Gown
Maggie wore a strapless satin gown by Anne Barge. Her veil was uniquely embroidered in oversized pastel botanicals. Her second look was a playful Ines Di Santo gown, where a fitted halter neckline covered in floral applique welcomed the feathered skirt.
Groomsman Attire
Steven wore a suit and white jacket and in many moments throughout the evening, paired it with a black cowboy hat.

The Details
Food & Drink
Maggie and Steven served two signature cocktails: The Prophet, Maggie's twist on a French 75, and champagne, and The Texican, a southern take on an old-fashioned.
Florals & Decor
The ceremony was set on the Ocean Course lawn with views of the 18th hole. The misty afternoon left a romantic haze along the coastline, where the floral-lined aisle looked out beyond their archway across the waters. Sweet floral arrangements were a standout, which focused on smaller blooms that honored a rustic approach to design. Beneath their outdoor reception tent, they hosted dinner, set with wicker chairs, creamy linens, and black accents.
Wedding Cake
Maggie's dress and veil served as inspiration for the floral design on their wedding cake, a five-tiered masterpiece with delicate icing florals that trailed down the sides.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
Maggie walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of a Top Gun song; "I'm not even sure anyone noticed, but I will never forget."
Special Detail #1
The couple had personalized beverage napkins with quotes that were important to them — the perfect complement to their bourbon and cigar bar.
Special Detail #2
After an afternoon monsoon, the tent had to be evacuated, and the party continued in the resort's Atlantic Room. "Our vendors were phenomenal and really worked with us to keep the party going!"
