An Intimate Garden Party Complete With a Soft Pastel Palette at Macarthur Place Hotel and Spa

When we first started planning with Kiki & John they were clear about wanting to create a romantic and inviting intimate garden party with a focus on a soft pastel color palette. Their venue, Macarthur Place, was the perfect location for that intimate party, and from there we collaborated with their floral team, Freckled Floral, to create a modern take on a pastel palette. We focused on color blocking, we repurposed ceremony florals to dinner, and we added texture to the dinner table design.

[field title=”Proposal Story”]John had planned with the resort staff and photographers for a beach proposal that evening. John casually said he had passed through the lobby and asked the resort about their photography sessions and told me it was complimentary with our stay. So I thought we might as well take a few photos before our dinner to take a few vacation photos back with us. We began the shoot on the resort property in some of the gardens and made our way to the beach. The photographer told me she would like to take some solo shots of me walking down the beach looking off into the ocean. She instructed me to walk away and on the count of three she would get a candid look back shot, however when I turned around there was John, down on one knee! He said the sweetest speech and asked “will you marry me” to which I said “yes”! It was the sweetest proposal! We then finished our dinner date at the Alaia restaurant on the resort and celebrated! When we returned home to Houston, Texas a few days later John set up a surprise engagement party with my closest friends and family! [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]The brides dress was designed by the amazing Eva Lendel purchased from Whittington Bridal in Houston Texas! The bride rolled her wedding dress up and threw it into her carryon all in an effort to hide her gown from the groom! [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The Bridesmaid dresses were from Billy J boutique! Her best of friends wore butter yellow dresses and her sisters wore a gorgeous shade of blue! [/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]The food was a taco bar done in an elegant effort and was absolutely delicious! The couple love Mexican food and especially love a Mexican meal from California! Including wine and beer bar as well as a beautiful mocktail! [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]The floral arrangements at Kierra and John’s wedding at MacArthur Place Spa were a stunning display of vibrant colors and seasonal beauty. Hydrangeas in shades of blue were complemented by a plethora of other flowers in yellow, purple, coral, pink, and lilac, creating a playful and lively color palette. The mix of spring and summer blooms, including peonies that burst open in the warm sun, added a picturesque touch to the event. Kierra’s bouquet stood out with its all-white flowers, elegantly tied with a thick pink chiffon ribbon that enhanced the purity of the arrangement. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of different flowers, each unique and stylish, adding a bold and eye-catching element to the wedding’s floral design.

The decor at Kierra and John’s wedding at MacArthur Place Spa was a beautiful blend of simplicity and elegance. Textures of rattan added a natural and rustic touch, while colorful candles lined the tables, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
