A Summer Garden Party in Puglia at Casa Resta
The Planning
Design / Vibe / Vision
Having grown up visiting her mother's family in Puglia, it felt natural for Chiara to choose it as the setting for their celebration. She envisioned a summer garden party with plenty of room for dancing. The couple wanted a traditional Puglian experience with endless food and a live band.
Proposal Story
Mitchell is an avid bird watcher. He mentioned a rare coastal bird that only
appeared at sunrise during our visit to Acadia National Park. One morning, at
sunrise, they drove to the park's lighthouse. On a deck overlooking the water,
he asked her to marry him.

The Fashion
Wedding Gown
Chiara tried on dozens of wedding dresses but in the end she was looking for a
dress with puffed sleeves. Without trying the dress on, Chiara went to Kinsley
James in Los Angeles and ordered the 'Bronte' from WONÁ Concept.
Bridesmaid Dresses
After choosing a color palette, the bridesmaids were given the freedom to
choose their own dresses to express their personality. Floral patterns and
different materials that matched the colors of the wedding were encouraged.

The Details
Food & Drink
The couple wanted to share the wonderful foods of Italy and Puglia in
particular with our guests. From pastas and seafood to traditional desserts,
they wanted to make sure they showcased the region's best. They complimented their food with a white, red, and rose wine from
Puglia, as well as a cocktail menu to suit everyone's tastes.
Florals & Decor
Mitchell and Chiara entrusted Andrea from Casa Resta with all our flower
arrangements, aiming for an organic, whimsical, and elegant look. The result
was a delightful surprise; everything, from the bouquet to the church and
reception, was stunning. The bridal bouquet featured local wildflowers from
his garden.
Wedding Cake
The cake stood among the timeless beauty of 100-year-old olive trees.
Surrounded by friends and family, Mitchell and Chiara walked down a candle-lit
path to cheers and applause, marking the joy of our union. The cake was
topped with a pair of robins.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
The ceremony was held in the Church of All Saints in Mesagne, which is
a beautiful example of Italian baroque architecture. Members of both
sides of the family gave readings, and Chiara's aunt sang during the
ceremony. The music for the reception was full of classics from all periods. Mitchell's father sang "Your Song" by Elton John.
Special Detail #1
The reception was held in the gardens of Casa Resta, a 17th-century villa built
by Bishop Luca Antonio Resta. String lights were hung around the reception
and flickering candles brought light to the tables.
