Rustic Romance Surrounded by Aspen Trees at Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch

[section title=”The Planning”]

[field title=”Wedding Colors”]Mid-September is one of the most beautiful times in Colorado. The last of the green leaves show on Aspen trees slowly changing their hue to golds and yellows. Lindsay & Nick knew they wanted to lean into the greens and yellows of the changing leaves but incorporate shades of pink for a pop of color.[/field]

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The weekend celebration for Lindsay and Nick’s wedding kicked off in style at the Minturn Saloon. This newly restored saloon exuded an authentic Wild West atmosphere, setting the stage for an unforgettable gathering. The rustic charm of the venue provided the perfect backdrop for guests to immerse themselves in a lively, old-timey ambiance. As guests arrived, they were greeted by the saloon’s characterful decor and vibrant energy. The combination of classic Western elements was an ideal setting for friends and family to come together, relax and enjoy their signature margaritas on tap! It set the tone for what was sure to be a weekend filled with memorable moments and cherished memories. The next day, their wedding at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch was nothing short of a fairytale. The ceremony took place on Skiers Bridge, a picturesque spot surrounded by the breathtaking sight of aspen trees, just starting to turn their golden shades of yellow – providing a stunning backdrop as they exchanged their vows.As guests seamlessly transitioned to the ballroom, the attention to detail was apparent in every aspect. The escort table was a stunning display of their shared passions and the natural beauty of the Colorado mountains. Adorned with vibrant flowers in shades of pink, yellow, and orange, along with fall foliage, it was a celebration of the autumn season and a peek into what’s just around the corner – ski season! The juxtaposition of these lively hues against the rustic charm of vintage skis captured the essence of both the couple’s love for winter sports and the breathtaking landscape. Nestled among the flowers and skis were the escort cards, cleverly designed to mimic ski lift tickets. This thoughtful detail paid homage to their shared affinity for skiing, adding a personal touch that was sure to resonate with guests. Each card served not only as a guide to their assigned tables but also as a keepsake that encapsulated the couple’s unique connection to the Colorado mountains.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]We were on vacation in Costa Rica, going to a surf camp for the first half of the week and then continuing on to a small beach town, Santa Teresa, to relax for the rest of the trip. Nick had envisioned a sunset proposal on the beach, but we were met with torrential rain the entire time! After 48 hours of rain, there was finally a (brief) break in the clouds, and we were eager to get out of the hotel room and go for a walk. He proposed on the beach, just the two of us, with a cubic zirconia ring that he ordered on Amazon because he was too scared to bring the real one on our travels. I was totally unsuspecting and my nails looked horrible after four days of surf camp![/field]

[section title=”The Fashion”]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”] Before the bride started shopping for dresses, she had vowed to not choose a strapless dress since she wanted to be super comfortable on her wedding day. When she was at Mark Ingram with her mom and mother-in-law, she was not feeling very inspired after trying on a bunch of dresses throughout the morning. They saw another girl with this dress on and told her that she had to try it. It was love at first sight (even though it was strapless!) — it fit her perfectly and made her really feel like a bride! She thought the floral embroidery was fitting for the mountain setting since it made it feel a little more casual and natural. It was made by Israeli designer Mira Zwillinger. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”] It was important for the girls to feel comfortable, confident and like themselves. The bride allowed them to choose their own dresses from wherever they wanted in shades of pink, yellow and orange. The bridesmaids didn’t see each other’s dresses until the day of the wedding and they complimented each other perfectly.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Lindsay & Nick wanted to keep true to the foods that were not only their favorite but also local to Colorado. While they opted for a miso glazed cod, they offered a grass-fed beef tenderloin and with local carrots, mushrooms and a pomme puree! They finished with a sweet treat- the Ritz Carlton’s famous chocolate cake with raspberry jam!

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]Lindsay & Nick chose to get married on a stunning fall weekend in Beaver Creek. Their wedding was a week before the peak leaf changing season started so while they still had green aspen trees, they had slowly started to change into the bright autumn yellows that are so indicative of fall in Colorado. They wanted to lean into the bright shades of pink and orange giving a nod to summer while also incorporating fall foliage and shades of yellow.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]A four tier cake was smoothly iced in a bright white buttercream and decorated with brightly colored pressed flowers. As for the flavor – guest were treated to The Ritz CArlton’s signature Classic Midnight – a rich chocolate cake with raspberry jam. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]The escort cards display was a highlight. The escort cards were made to look like vintage ski tickets surrounded by a pair of vintage skis. Each table was adorned with the table signage that looked like miniature ski run signs, all named after the bride and groom’s favorite runs at Vail, Beaver Creek, and Yellowstone Club. It was a fun way to infuse their love of skiing into a fall wedding! [/field]
