[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]From The Yes Story:

The overall vision was classic, elegant, sophisticated and whimsical. We wanted to create a romantic design that complemented natural beauty of the surroundings. The venue is truly unique, featuring a magnificent marble pool, a secluded Tuscan garden, and an expansive circular helipad offering breathtaking views of the Santa Monica Mountains. [/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]The proposal happened during our Aspen trip in September 2022, and it was a complete surprise even though we had been together for about four years.

On the day before we left, we drove to Independence Pass, the continental divide. Andy insisted we stay until sunset. As the sun began to set, he suggested we take a picture there, pointing out a girl with a camera who seemed like she was good at taking photos. He asked her to take some pictures for us. As we were getting ready, he suddenly got down on one knee. The girl turned out to be a photographer he had contacted weeks earlier.

The location was incredibly remote, with no cell service. Andy had planned everything perfectly, coordinating with the photographer to meet at that spot at the right time. It was a complete surprise and absolutely magical.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]I have four different outfits for our wedding, each with its own special touch.

The traditional Chinese Qipao embodies the essence and elegance of my home country, with its customized design and one-of-a-kind fabric. Its light blue color also incorporates the tradition of “something blue” in American culture.

For the wedding gown, I chose a stunning mermaid style. The gown comes with detachable bows and sleeves, allowing me to switch up the look. When I wear it with the bows, it gives me a whimsical and charming feel, while wearing it with sleeves adds a more formal touch, adding an extra layer of elegance to the occasion. After trying on about 15 different styles, I knew this was the perfect choice to make me feel absolutely radiant on my special day.

The evening dress for the reception adds a touch of sparkle to the night, ensuring I shine bright as we celebrate with our loved ones. It’s also perfect for our first dance, creating magical moments that we’ll cherish forever.

And for the after-party, I opted for a fun and comfortable mini evening dress, paired with sneakers for dancing the night away with friends and family.

Each outfit reflects a different aspect of our wedding journey, making it a day to remember for a lifetime.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]Catering was provided by Made by Meg Catering, offering a delightful array of appetizers with an Asian fusion twist, including little banh mi sandwiches and peking duck tacos. Guests also enjoyed a variety of expertly crafted drinks throughout the evening by Sweetwater Cocktails.

Once the guests were seated at dinner, the newlyweds celebrated their union by pouring at the 5-tier champagne tower. As they poured from the top, the champagne cascaded down, filling each glass below symbolizing their overflowing love and joy.

For the dinner reception, guests had the choice between two delectable options: honey-glazed salmon or grilled flank steak. Each plate was beautifully garnished with an edible flower and a slice of rainbow radish, adding a touch of elegance and color to the meal. [/field]

[field title=”Florals & Decor”]From The Yes Story:

For the Ceremony, we wanted the altar to be the focal point and look like it was part of the existing garden and hills. The overall style is very garden-like, with a lush and verdant appearance. Lily Roden Floral Studio created a stunning illusion arch framing the Santa Monica Mountains in the backdrop. She featured flowers such as quicksands roses, cosmos, blush mums, golden mustard roses, and butterfly ranunculus, enhancing the natural beauty of the landscape.

During Cocktail Reception, the guests were invited to the second floor balcony on the main estate to enjoy the panoramic views as the sun was setting. The vendor team transformed the helicopter pad to an intimate dinner reception.

For the Reception, the tables were adorned with white washed rattan chargers, scalloped- edge plates and velvet linens & napkins. We wanted to create a romantic atmosphere rich in varied textures. Each place setting was decorated with delicate olive tree leaves, sourced from the couple’s own home, adding a personal touch to the occasion. [/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]The wedding cake by Vanilla Bake Shop was a classic 3 tier cake filled with strawberry and cream, the exterior was decorated with diagonal whipped vanilla bean design. The florist added delicate flowers while maintaining a clean and modern aesthetic. [/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #1″]From the couple:

The entirety of our wedding day was truly perfect, with every moment filled with love and joy. However, if I had to choose one particular moment that stands out, it would be our intimate first look. It was a private moment shared only between Andy and me, filled with anticipation and emotion as we prepared to see each other for the first time on our wedding day. Little did Andy know, as he stood waiting, one of our groomsmen approached him first, dressed in a wedding dress as a hilarious surprise. The unexpected twist added an element of hilarity and surprise to our intimate moment, making it even more special and unforgettable.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #2″]The couple honored their Chinese heritage on their special day by wearing classic Chinese traditional attire. The bride looked radiant in a delicate pastel blue qipao, while the groom sported a silver Tang jacket. Embracing tradition, their entire wedding party also dressed in traditional Chinese outfits, creating a beautiful fusion of culture and celebration.[/field]

[field title=”Special Detail #3″]After exchanging vows, the couple included a whiskey unity ceremony in their celebration. They poured whiskey into their personalized barrel, symbolize the joining of two lives and the creation of a new journey together. [/field]
