Matthew was originally planning to propose in Croatia but then Covid happened.
That didn’t push his proposal timeline back and he still popped the question in May 2020.
Our favorite place in the world is the Outer Banks. We both went with our famalies
growing up and it holds a very special place in our hearts. Matthew got down on one knee
on the bridge in Whalehead Corolla, NC – a place we both frequented as kids and together to
watch the sunset. Afterwards he surprised me with a private, candlelit homemade dinner on a gazebo over the water with champagne and flowers waiting for me. He made lobster, gazpacho and
shrimp salad at 6am before I was awake in order to keep it a surprise. It was magical and the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me![/field]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]We served a plated dinner that started with a spring green salad, followed by a choice of salmon, filet, chicken or pasta dish by Mattison’s catering. As desert we served our wedding cake and a desert table. [/field]
[field title=”Florals & Decor”]
For the flowers we decided to go with light, spring colors, mostly white and pink with a little pop of color to compliment the venue and the Florida spring garden vibes. We decided on a long gold mirrored head table for the welcome party and family surrounded by round tables in the courtyard.

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Our all white wedding cake was made by Wonder Cake Creations with carrot cake and vanilla flavors. We wanted the cake to go along with the simple, elegant, spring theme.[/field]
[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]Personal vows, “The Art of Marriage” reading, ceremony songs were Blackbird and Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #1″]Matt had our ceremony singer, Keith James, surprise me by singing our first dance song “I’m with you” by Vance Joy, which is also our song.[/field]
[field title=”Special Detail #2″]My dad is from Sarasota and on our first family vacation that Matt joined he said “what if we got married in Sarasota”, years before we were even engaged.
Sarasota is a very special, sentimental place to me and we’re lucky they happened to have the venue of our dreams![/field]
