Crisp Whites and Vibrant Greens at This Open-Air Tent Wedding at the Aquidneck Club

[field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]I’ve grown up coming to the Aquidneck Club, and I always knew I would want to get married overlooking such a special and meaningful view. I wanted this wedding to be a classic expression of love that did not take away from the naturally beautiful atmosphere.

The ceremony was on a beautiful patch of grass off of the 18th hole overlooking the water. We wanted all decor and florals to be a crisp white which paired beautifully with the greenery around us. A few weeks before the ceremony, I had a vision of white roses going down the aisle – as if they had been growing right out of the ground. Fig & Squill made this happen and it was such a beautiful detail that led the path to the beautiful chuppah.

For the reception, we planned it so that our guests were entering just as the sunset was hitting and that our first dance was during this peak golden hour. The view was so beautiful – we wanted our guests to soak in every second of it. From the very beginning, my dream was to have an open-air tent that was completely see-through with greenery and lights hanging all around us. The light that surrounded that space was just incredible, and once the sun set it felt like we were dancing under the stars in some sort of fairytale dream. Exquisite Events truly made my vision come to life.[/field]

[field title=”Proposal Story”]In August 2020, Jacob and I were visiting my parents in Rhode Island as we do for many summer weekends. Jacob had told me that he was golfing with my brother and dad on Saturday, but that morning I woke up to Jacob gone and a note beside my bed. The note read “Meet me at the Look Out at 6:30 pm sharp! I Love You! – Jacob.” The Look Out is a little house in the middle of the Aquidneck golf course that sits upon a hill with a beautiful view of the greens. I knew then what was happening that evening and I was overcome with emotion.

At 6:30, I headed into the Lookout and immediately was greeted by the sounds and sight of a beautiful guitar player playing “I can’t stop falling in love with you” with a path of white rose petals leading toward the open doors (we also walked down the aisle to this song at our wedding as it became so special to us after this moment). As I continued to walk in I was surrounded by framed photos of Jacob and I over the years and continued to follow the path of rose petals, flowers and candles. I saw Jacob standing at the end next to an open door, the light breeze floating in and the sunset behind us. He got down on one knee and expressed beautiful and emotional words to me that ended in him asking me to marry him. This was one of the most beautiful and sentimental moments of my life – he made me feel so special. To top off such an amazing moment, we walked outside after a few moments alone and I was greeted by my best friends and family, something that I never thought could happen during the precarious moments of 2020. There were so many happy tears and we got to celebrate all night.[/field]

[field title=”Wedding Gown”]Mira Zwillinger, purchased at Wedding Salon of Manhasset in Manhasset, NY

The most amazing seamstress from the wedding salon, Kacey, was with us for the day of the wedding for steaming, details, styling, and most important to cut and tailor the train of the dress right after the ceremony so i could move and dance freely without bustling. She did this whole ordeal in 15 min, it was just incredible. [/field]

[field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]I love and adore all of my friends personal styles and wanted them to feel their best. I gave them a color palette (blush, nudes, champagne vibes) and told them to pick whatever they felt best in. Seeing them all in such unique dresses that fit each of them so well made me so happy – they looked so beautiful and I was so proud to have them beside me.[/field]

[field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Jacob got his tux custom at Victor Talbots in Long Island NY. The Groomsman had Black Tuxes.[/field]

[section title=”The Details”]

[field title=”Food & Drink”]With my dad being in the hospitality business in Boston, he became best friends with James beard winning chef Lydia Shire before I was born. My whole life I grew up spending Football Sundays at Lydia’s house in Weston MA, sitting at her kitchen island watching her cook the most amazing meals and desserts I’ve ever had. When it came to my wedding, I was truly honored and touched when Lyd agreed to be a part of my special day and take care of the food and cake. She came to RI for the day and we sat down for hours brainstorming the menu as she sketched each idea we had. Her mind is so beautiful and her creativity has no limits – it was so fun to plan the food with her and still to this day people tell me it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding, specifically the Kobe beef that melted in your mouth – I will literally be hearing about that beef for the rest of my life![/field]

[field title=”Wedding Cake”]Lydia designed the entire cake, it was incredible and 3 tiers of different flavors![/field]

[field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]First dance song – Music to my eyes from a star is born. When I first heard this song in the movie I knew it was going to be our first dance song, the words resonated with me so much as Jacob makes music throughout his life and is one of his major passions.
