A Classic Summer Coastal Blue Tented Wedding
Marisa and Colton had an elegant coastal wedding at Bay Harbor Marina in Petoskey, Michigan. They embraced a color scheme of dusty blues like the sea, classic whites, and greens. It was a dreamy August day that was perfect for their outdoor celebration. From the extravagant floral arch at their beach ceremony to the personalized oyster shell place cards, truly no detail went unnoticed on their big day, and everything fit the coastal theme perfectly. Plus, Marisa and Colton kept their guests at the forefront. During the reception, they had friendly matches of cornhole, a cigar bar, an audio guest book, and glow sticks on the dance floor. It was all a huge hit with the guests!
The bride wore a textured a-line, cap-sleeve gown by Tom Sebastien. With a deep v-neck and lace details, it was perfect for the coastal day. She purchased it at The Bridal Studio in Salt Lake City, Utah. After dinner came time for dancing, so Marisa changed into her satin, long-sleeved reception dress. It was a totally different look for her!
Her bridesmaids wore dusty blue satin gowns in a variety of styles purchased from Revelry.
The groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos rented from The Black Tux.
After the ceremony, guests moved to the Bay Harbor Marina Lawn for the cocktail hour outside of the reception tent. They enjoyed mingling over oysters and shrimp before moving under the tent for the reception. The couple had three signature drinks, all a nod to their heritage and story, complete with custom gold drink stirrers in the shapes of their home states, Michigan and Indiana. The groom's drink was The Hoosier, a take on the Old Fashioned. The bride's drink was Smitten in the Mitten, a take on a spicy margarita. Lastly, the joint drink was Off to Bora Bora (their honeymoon destination), a take on the classic gin and tonic.
When it came time for the ceremony, guests found their seats overlooking Lake Michigan. The elegant blue, white, and greenery floral arch and the crashing waves behind it made for a spectacular backdrop. When it came time for the reception, they followed the rose path to the tent entrance. Once under the reception tent, guests were in awe at the sailcloth tent, complete with lush florals, romantic string lights, and beautiful lounge-style spaces.
Jessica at Simply Sweet By Jessica created a stunning and classic 4-tier wedding cake for the couple and their guests. The gorgeous blue hydrangeas cascaded down the front for a touch of coastal blue to tie in with the rest of the theme.
The bride got ready with her bridesmaids at Bay Harbor Marina. They had an enjoyable morning as they got their hair and makeup done. Marisa surprised her grandmother with a cake since it was her birthday.
After getting ready, Marisa and Colton shared a private moment, just the two of them. Instead of a first look, they shared a first touch and didn’t actually see each other before the ceremony. It was special to see them spend that time together before Colton saw Marisa for the first time as she walked down the aisle!
